I agree that Sydney likely jumped. John Brooks and Erika Brooks, who lost their daughter, Casey, when she jumped in 2008, said she seemed excited about going to Bennington College even though they had recently experienced some rough patches. John wrote a book, The Girl Behind the Door, that goes into more detail. (The tapes are erased after about six months, but the Brooks chose not to view it.) Also, Kevin Hines is one of the few to survive the jump and goes around speaking about his experience.

It's probably going to be a challenge to find a sympathetic jury for Josh. I'm not sure if this is a problem everywhere, but several years ago in Georgia, they had a huge problem with less 50% of the people showing up for jury duty. The newspaper did multiple articles on it, and it came out that many notices were sent to people who had moved or had died. Of course, many said they never got the notice. Judges starting making an effort to settle the cases. It might be worse now after covid.

My favorite episodes: "Mr.Monk Gets Cabin Fever" was interesting since the couple across the lake had southern accents, and he discovered where Sierra Springs water came from when they got lost. "Mr.Monk and the Class Reunion" had him defrosting the refrigerator. "Mr.Monk and the Astronaut" Randy's remark about the globe was the highlight. "Mr.Monk and the Game Show" "Mr.Monk Gets Drunk" "Mr.Monk and the Critic" "Mr.Monk Fights City Hall" had the congresswoman's idiot secretary not knowing how to use a computer and printer and forgetting to tell him upfront that she had two apartments. "Mr.Monk Gets Lotto Fever" "Mr.Monk and the End, Part 1 &2" I do wonder how Trudy's parents never knew she was pregnant.

It's funny to see some posters refer to Michelle as Mechelle because there is actually a Mechelle Voepel who covers women's sports for ESPN. To add to it, there is also MaChelle Joseph, the head coach of Georgia Tech women's basketball. One thing I don't believe they've had the Duggars do is attend a game so it would be interesting if producers had the girls go to a women's basketball game. I would love to hear the questions producers would ask and their responses!

Regarding the birth father, I don't think that the mother is allowed to put his name on the birth certificate if he isn't present. It's to prevent women from claiming that dad is Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, etc. I don't know if that was the case back in the day before DNA became more advanced.

Update: Diane's mom Eileen died in Oct.2013. According to her obituary, she doesn't appear to have been married at the time. Here is the article that the NY Magazine reporter did. There is a quote from Eileen.

I'm going to point out something the family kept mentioning but nobody has brought up: when Danny and Jay were meeting with the medical examiner, they were once again saying that Diane did not intentionally get drunk and asked if a stroke or seizure could cause the autopsy results to be wrong. The medical examiner pointed out the alcohol results will always prevail. The family doesn't appear to understand that even if she didn't get drunk on purpose, the results of the autopsy will be the same. It can't guess whether she intended to get drunk or smoke. I do not think this was suicide because they said Diane would never intentionally leave her kids after what her mother did. Also, Byran said that "mommy had a headache and she could not see", so Diane must have told the kids that at some point. I wonder if the family has considered a hypnotist to see if Byran could regain more of his memory. Regarding the other family filing a lawsuit, I recall there being something about how Diane's brother is actually liable since it was his car.

That is exactly why the extra guests should be asked to leave. The only way to stop the behavior is not to reward it. Otherwise, you just continue the cycle in future generations. Obviously, these people were not taught these things as kids. I remember being about 6-7 and asking my mom if my brother was coming with us to a birthday party, and her saying, "He's not invited." That is why it baffles me that people don't know these things! I hope your friends' reaction went well.

I'm trying to figure out why there is such a huge problem these days with people wanting to bring guests who aren't invited. What part of "if their name is not on the invitation, they are not invited" don't you understand? At my brother's wedding ten years ago, we had friends with two daughters and one son who told us their son was bringing his girlfriend. These are people we've known for a long time--dad and son were in boy scouts with my brother and dad. My mom went to high school with the dad and his two sisters. (One daughter has the same name as me.) Interestingly, their son and older daughter had family only weddings and sent out announcements after the fact. Needless to say, I will not be inviting this family to my wedding. Two others also brought uninvited dates and about 5-6 didn't show! Unlike my brother, I'll be having assigned seating, so we'll know if there are extra guests who will have to leave. Luckily, the wedding planner will have that job. With regards to the bride who had the DJ announce that the no rsvps had to go out, I assume that they only put the number of tables and chairs based who they were expecting since more would be extra money when you add linens, decor. Mrs. Hanson, have you called the people who put an extra person down and told them you don't have the room? How did they react? This appears to have become an issue only about 17 years ago. My parents don't remember this with the weddings we attended in the 1990s. Of course, this was back when people followed directions.

Great question! If I had to guess, the answer would be no. I think she and the rest of the Duggars will remain part of the group who will never comprehend etiquette or boundaries. This appears to be a bigger issue in small towns in the southern part of the country and not in New York or California. Not only was this not a milestone event for Josie, but patients have multiple nurses in the hospital, so how does Michelle think the others will feel when they see the wedding? I had many great teachers from K-12 and in college, but most people don't have the budget to invite every single one to the wedding.

This is just another example, along with having one of Josie's nurses present, that illustrates the Duggars' lack of knowledge about etiquette and manners. There is a time and a place for these things and it's not at the wedding of someone else. The number one rule at a wedding as a guest is not to do, say, or wear anything that takes attention away from the couple. Derrick and Ben have plenty of time to kiss their spouses later and Josie didn't care about the nurse. I thought the lack of etiquette started around 20 years ago, but I can recall the dad of a childhood friend being shocked at the lack of manners amongst the men he travelled with on business trips in the 1980s! Hopefully, this episode will be a teaching tool for parents and etiquette instructors on the lack of etiquette and manners.

I remember watching Rescue 911 and discussing it with my classmates. 1. I loved the bobcat guy and his house since it was a lot nicer in comparison to most of the others. 2. I used to shake my head at the ones that featured kids nearly drowning due to irresponsible parenting! Contrary to popular belief, it seems that the trend of parents not watching their kids didn't start in the late 90s, but way before that judging by what I saw on the show. I can remember being 5-6 and having close calls with kids at the park who walked too close to the swings! 3. The girl who had an allergic reaction at the prom. A lot of the show is available on You Tube.

There haven't been anymore kids who have found spouses since the Josh scandal. I think Jinger was introduced to Jeremy right before it happened. I have a feeling that the Duggars will have trouble finding spouses and jobs in the future due to Josh. If history is any indication, the children of the Shah and Farah Pahlavi have had a difficult time: two have died, and one of them had trouble in college with professors thinking she didn't write papers without help. This family is better off and educated than the Duggars!

I don't see how they will be able to show the wedding since Josh will be there. Since he is immediate family, asking him to sit in the back at the ceremony would be awkward since the family has always been up front. I agree with those of you who think Derrick should focus on working in the US. This doesn't apply to the Duggars, but a recent NYTimes article encouraged college applicants to focus on volunteering in their own towns rather than some remote village abroad. They interviewed admissions officials from Harvard and Trinity who said they didn't want to see anymore essays about going abroad due to them being basically identical. It was titled "Go to Haiti, Get Into Harvard?" Does anyone think the Bates are discouraging their kids not to date any of the Duggars?

I could see this battle between Kathryn and Thomas playing out in a similar way to Generosa and Ted Ammon. Kathryn is somewhat younger than Generosa, but she may turn the kids against him when they get a little older. Throw in the custody battle and add Kathryn dating a contractor and you have a nearly identical dysfunctional family! Hopefully, they or someone they know reads this and will see it as a cautionary tale. If you're curious, the children of Generosa and Ted have turned out fairly well. They actually made a documentary on their life called "59 Middle Lane." They have a business called Big Flower.

I agree with the previous poster who mentioned Marilu Henner. She would provide a great insight into her healthy lifestyle. I don't know if she would do it, but if Bravo is reading this, Mike Fleiss is married to Laura now. She was Miss America a few years ago and just had a baby. It might not be possible with him being the Bachelor producer, but they live in Malibu.

Many of you have wondered if Ashley is a good hair stylist. I'm actually from her hometown and had my hair cut and colored by her in April. She did a great job! She was actually wearing extensions on the show because she was encouraged to by the producers. She felt bad for Kelsey and Jade for what they had to go through. Elan is everyone's favorite producer and at the time, she was talking to him about possibly being on BIP. Everyone in her family has attended Auburn.

I think Kirk and Laura are the John and Kathryn of this season. When they have a child together, I suspect Kirk will be acting similar to John. Kirk doesn't seem quite as mean though. Sam's dad is the one who spent time in prison, but the house and estate are on her mom's side. It was her grandfather who was wealthy. If I had to guess who will not last, I'd have to go with Nadine and Erik.

Regarding the blurred faces, the brother of my close friend from college got married a few years ago. My friend put up a lot of wedding pictures on facebook, but only about 3 from the bachelor party. Another friend commented, asking about more pics of the bachelor party. My friend said that they agreed not to post more because his brother and one of his friends were both teachers. So, my guess is that the guests with blurred faces have jobs, i.e., teachers, therapists, that could be in jeopardy if filmed acting rowdy, taking shots, etc.

In her book, Kyle explains the selling of the Palm Springs house and the limogate. She also says that she's like Big Kathy in the sense that she devotes a lot of time to her kids. Big Kathy once remarked, "It's hard for me to be married. All I care about is my kids." BK married four times.

I'm wondering if her inviting more people to the ceremony had to do with the fact that the groom is a minister. There may have been several people that he had met in some capacity and would always mention her, the engagement, the wedding, whenever he saw them. They may have even expressed the desire to be there or buy a gift, so the couple told them they could come to the ceremony as a compromise. It is true that weddings are cheaper in off times such as brunch, but guests should not have to pay for drinks. The NYTimes had an article a while back on venues charging more for weddings--they sent different people into the venues to ask about costs for a wedding, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. Yes, the wedding was always the most expensive.

Carolyn having pizza and soda bottles on the table was tackier than Raiza, who also had pizza, but at least she had beer and wine. They must have spent the 10k on the Broadway programs and the venue. She and her partner should have put more money towards a baby-sitter to watch the kids and prepare for them for what to expect at the wedding. Whether you're the bride or bridesmaid, there needs to be another adult present to look after the kids. I also agree with the poster up thread on the bride who made fun of Karen's funny vows. I think that was Ana, the one who ran out of food. Their episode is "And Three Raccoons" featuring her, Karen, Raiza, and Bridgette.

I think circus bride won because of the variety of choices at the food trucks. Food seems to be the make or break factor. I don't think the brides should score based on the dresses, church, religion or flowers because those factors do not affect the guests being comfortable or well fed. Guests have the right to be comfortable and to be well fed if it's dinnertime. I'm loving the rehashing of some past brides. Ones I recall: 1. Karen, who loved pink and champagne, had good food, and won. I recall the groom showing off his pink boxers. 2. The bride on same episode as Karen, who had delivery pizza and beer and had guests sitting on blankets. I think they all thought it was tacky. 3. Bride on same one as 1&2, who ran out of food and they had to get takeout. 4. Danielle, of course. 5. There was one bride who had only desserts, so I think they ordered pizza. 6. Steelers bride had the uncle who bragged about his cheesecake.

Regarding the Andi's sister looking bored and kind of thinking, "here we go again", Andi mentioned on the premiere that she and Rachel are very different. Also, on her facebook page, she posted that promotional photo of Andi, saying to the tune, "I guess I have to post this." Sharleen has some really funny things about the MTP date on her blog.

Regarding Sarah lying about her mental illness on a gun application, I believe you're supposed to be truthful because it's an official document just like a passport, driver's license, etc. I'm pretty sure you can be fined for giving false information. Now I don't know if the same rules apply with guns, but you can't adopt or do foster care or do some jobs if you have ever sought help for even depression. ( Not to get too OT, but that's one reason more people opt for fertility treatments over adoption.) Maybe if she answered yes, and had a doctor's letter, they allowed it.
