  1. It sounded to me like the two pronounce their last names differently -- one "Ther-oh" and one "Ther-oo" -- and thought that was why he said both full names. FJ also an instaget for me. (I've hit 60 and not thrilled, but so far it's okay.)
  2. What a great clip. The little details they included - the tabloid headline, throwaway lines, etc. -- helped to make GL a really great show. I miss it so much.
  3. When the show was ending in 2009, a lot of departed characters returned for an episode or two, and I think Bridget was one of the (very welcome) drop-ins. She had some good stories on the reunion show she did; I hope you enjoy catching up.
  4. I'm guessing it's a riff on, say, comic book collectors sitting around ranking Batmans -- Adam West is #1, then Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, with Clooney always last, etc.. (The Big Bang Theory spent some time in an episode ranking Catwoman portrayers, IIRC.) Ms. Swanson's recent actions, or lack thereof, sent her straight to the back of the line.
  5. Evans also assisted Betty White in getting to the stage at a People's Choice Awards several years back. Kindness/good manners are definitely hot. (Do you suppose they always seat him in the front row for that reason?)
  6. For this photo shoot, I take it. Madonna under fire for recreating Marilyn Monroe death scene for V Magazine https://pagesix.com/2021/10/29/madonna-under-fire-for-recreating-marilyn-monroes-death/
  7. Speaking of the private affairs of the denizens of Stars Hollow, were Taylor and Miss Patty an item? In a couple of episodes, Miss Patty said things (usually at town meetings, IIRC) that caught my attention; but I don't recall hearing anything overt, seeing any telling action going on in a scene's background, or whatever. I don't consider myself a hardcore GG viewer -- some eps I know inside and out, others not so much -- so please be gentle if I missed something obvious or am totally off base in this thought.
  8. I wasn't allowed to watch Hogan's Heroes for the same reason; though if my parents had watched an episode, they'd have seen that the Nazis were buffoons and the Allied prisoners put plot after plot, scheme after scheme over on them. Sometimes satire is just lost on people. Klemperer also sang opera, if I recall correctly.
  9. Then he's the Swan Wrangler in Kill Me Now, but in subsequent episodes he's consistently Kirk.
  10. Kim has a new.......look. https://pagesix.com/2021/10/05/kim-richards-debuts-glam-new-look-at-nieces-bat-mitzvah/
  11. Quint and Nola was one of my favorite story lines; so sad to hear of Tylo's passing.
  12. Re the side airbags answer, the wording of the answer provided "side" to the point where I was not sure whether to include it with the rest of the question. Perhaps that is why the judges ruled in favor of the contestant. I can't find last night's questions anywhere, or I'd have provided the exact verbiage. (If anyone wants to point me towards an up-to-date site, I'll go get it.)
  13. I know Gayle's unpopular, but the show has a new Exec Producer since January and CBS News has two new co-heads as of April or so; and I'd bet the changes come more from that direction. A press release from CBS News says that hard news will be key to the new format -- which makes me wonder what they consider hard news. 14. I listened this morning more than watched; I hope to get used to that clunky chord between bits on the "your world in 90 seconds." When I finally did get to watch, it was after 8 and they were in chairs. I also really hope they still have the table for the hard news hour. Really can't handle GMA or Today, so I will have to learn to adapt or start to do without morning news.
  15. I agree -- the main reason I watch CTM is the real news they provide (and the lack of cooking segments and shilling of movies produced by the parent company, etc.) I will miss Anthony, though, and look forward to following him wherever he goes. Nate has been pretty good in his guest spots ,and I hope he does well full-time.
  16. The dreaded sloe gin fizz, or any of the Mr. Boston cocktails in a can/bottle. Pina Coladas were particularly wretched.
  17. Oh, it's definitely in the "it's funny because it's true!" ballpark.
  18. Center! And the hub likes edges (he's edgy!), so it all works out.
  19. If you look at the other three USET members - Laura Kraut, Kent Farrington, and McLain Ward -- they don't come from spectacularly wealthy backgrounds, at least not at the Gates/Jobs/Bloomberg level. Kraut and Farrington seem to come from relatively modest beginnings, though they started riding at 3 and 8, respectively -- Kraut influenced by her mother, Farrington seeming to just like horses. And Ward comes from a a horsey family, though again, not filthy rich. But perhaps the less said about that, the better. Yet all we hear about is Jessica Springsteen, which is not her fault but still annoying.
  20. Finches can catch an eye disease that can make them blind (and I imagine they don't last long after that happens), and they get a couple of other illnesses too. I had one in my garden a few years ago with the crusty eye thing going on, which made me look into it. A lot of bad things can happen to our feathered friends, unfortunately. https://feederwatch.org/learn/sick-birds-and-bird-diseases/
  21. Oh yes! How could I forget? Catwoman was my childhood role model.
  22. That description makes me think of Sigourney Weaver, but pretty sure she's based in New York. Alison Janney or Geena Davis?
  23. Here's to a hard worker, loyal husband, and all around fine person. RIP, Mr. Bonner, and thank you.
  24. Love Story - eww, a terrible flick! I guess 2021 could go either way, depending whether I'm Jenny or Oliver.
  25. Yes yes yes!!! I think it was called the Chocolate Chip on the Good Humor truck when I was young. I think the chocolate coating was smooth, but the whole point of the treat was the semi-sweet hunk of chocolate molded around the stick. If they still made it, I'd buy an extra freezer.
