Roz arguing over the old jar of jam, and the cleaner participating, is everything wrong with this process. The deal should be “we’re throwing out everything in the kitchen. If you object, we pack up and leave.” But then you wouldn’t have an hour long show.

What is up with Chad’s mouth and his manner of speech? I don’t mean anything mean or snarky about it. Not sure if it’s something Southern, but I’m from the South and I’ve seen it before. Similar to someone chewing tobacco but Chad isn’t. Just curious.

Right on all points, Stuckathome.

Chad seems like a decent, nice guy, but I agree this is completely the wrong path for him. It was difficult to watch how uncomfortable he was as soon as he arrived. I have a different take on Juan. I don't see him as challenging Susan about being too demanding. I see him as saying, "I sent you on a date with a guy who meets some of your preferences. Why are you not in love? WHY ARE YOU NOT IN LOVE?"

Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars - General Discussion

Ugh, I hate seeing these reality tv regulars cast in shows that are presented as just regulars folks trying to succeed. I’d respect any show that banned applicants who have been on any other tv show. -
I'm always surprised when these wannabe chefs audition with something super simple. Even if they truly are good cooks, they go to three renowned chefs and say, "Here's a steak and I made some mashed potatoes." That's supposed to impress? But apparently it does sometimes. If you can get Joe to confirm it's medium rare, that's all it takes to get on Masterchef. And can we please be done with all the fake out reveals? The judges doing the no/but really yes thing, and the contestants walking out looking all saddy mcsad sad face and then whipping out the apron. Enough already. Not cute anymore.

I've never understoood the Golden Buzzer, at least from the audience's perspective. Sure, it's good for the performer who is guaranteed to go to the live shows and skip the rounds where they might be eliminated. But let's say I really like this act and would enjoy seeing them again. Now they get the GB and I won't see them again for a good while. Sometimes when they show up on the live shows I've completely forgotten them.

I’ve seen a lot of episodes, but this might be the worst case of someone with a fundamental, serious mental issue that is catered to, as if cleaning her house will fix everything. She needs so much more.

Loved that coat Tom was wearing on the rooftop. Gail’s designer needs to consider how those big shoulder pads look when she’s sitting with her arms on the table.

I feel kind of bad for that kid who runs a sno-cone stand. He’s so out of his element. Making a high end wine and snack basket? -
I think you're right. I was baffled until he did that last trick, and then I wasn't.

I find Susan fine in most respects, but how she treats that dog would be a dealbreaker. I'm a big dog lover myself, but they're not my children or my fur babies (ugh). Having it with her every moment and everywhere, talking to it and about it like it's her child... nope, not for me.

Whats with that girl’s eyes? -
Gabe: “I’m not confrontational…” except on this show. Loved how Yohan referenced “in one ear and out the other” just as the earpiece fell out of his ear.

I stopped watching this show a few seasons back when an American woman was aggressively grilling a Muslim man in his own country about why he climaxed so quickly the first time they had sex. It was the day after and he was embarassed, it obviously was awkward for him to talk about sex that way, but she wouldn't let it go. I found it really distasteful and quit the show. Decided to come back and try it again this season. I am very, very far from being a prude, but I watch this show for the cringey bad relationship stuff, not to hear a lot of talk about people's penis size and women squirting. Maybe this show isn't for me.
-
Huh, Kris ended up looking like the good one in that relationship. Who would have thought that? That metrosexual guy commentator guy just keeps amping up the metrosexual, doesn’t he?
-
Re penis and semi-penis sizes:Just gross.

Never liked Mahmoud but I’m sympathetic to his reaction to the obnoxious Gabe’s goading about his religion. Not cool, particularly from someone who wants a lot of understanding and compassion about his own life.

S14.E22: Influencers in the Wild; Tones of Melanin; Tucky Belt; Eyewris

The influencers game: Let’s take a concept that is entirely 2023, very high concept internet age, and turn it into a board game circa 1970. Because you know, today’s folks who are into influencers spend a lot of time playing board games. -
They have plastic straws for the coconuts??!! Really? Early Survivor contestants must be so disgusted.
-
“The submerge challenge is playing on psychological fears and the possibility of not being able to breathe not just as a bug but as a feature.” Yeah, that’s what makes it a good challenge. Nobody is forcing them to do this. Even in the moment, they could say, “Nah, Jeff, ain’t doing this.”
-
“Today’s challenge is a Survivor classic.” Yeah, Jeff, they all are .🙄 ”I practiced this in my bath tub.”
-
This show is done. Now it’s just fakes and repeat reality show attempts. Sad. Kami is at her best though.

That travel belt thing is another example of something already out there. Every luggage/doodad shop in the airport has those exact type of belts to put around your suitcase to keep it from popping open and to make it more visible on the conveyor belt. I have one in lime green and it could easily be used in the way they were pitching. It didn’t cost $45.
