  1. I was truly amazed at how much the investigation had been botched. No gunshot residue test, no shell casings, etc. no fingerprints or DNA on the sandwich. This victim was the  daughter of a deputy sheriff, a reserve officer and jailer herself, married to a firefighter. They called the state police in due to the situation. That was to counterbalance the conflict of interest and the inexperience of the responding depury( his first homicide case). And still, no one ordered the appropriate tests.  No investigation of the victim. No real investigation as to whether Seth and his friends had terrorized the neighbor.

Seth was stone faced when the verdict was read.  He must have been prepared for it.

Does this mean you think it's Nancy's fault that Frank had an affair?   How does his  affair reflect poorly on her?  She wasn't exciting enough or thin enough or she hadn't figured out how to stop the aging process?   Is that what Nancy did wrong?

Absolutely not. Im not saying she did anything to bring this on at all. I’m saying she may have insecurities about it and is thereby looking for someone else to blame. Emotional response rather than intellectual.

As you said, continuing my analogy. She’s saying that the other woman could have turned him down once learning he was married. It’s still Franks actions and he’s responsible for them.

  3. Because she believes ‘it takes two to tango’. She is looking for a scapegoat, or some way to understand why the person she married wasn’t who she thought he was. Some reason that doesn’t reflect poorly on her.  Same stupidity on the part of the daughters.

It’s the same reason why families of drug addicts blame the dealers, families of gambling addicts blame the casinos, families of smokers blame the cigarette companies, families of alcoholics blame the bars, families of criminals blame the friends and associates. Remember prohibition? Although cigarette companies did false advertising, so there is that. As I said earlier, emotional reaction vs intellectual.

  4. I'll be honest.  If the snow tubing was done on a small hill, I wouldn't personally think it would be dangerous early in pregnancy. I wouldn't think to ask a doctor about it.. The tubing hill behind her actually looks like just a slight angle.  Now, down the side of a Colorado mountain.... that's different.  Your mileage may vary, and of course doodlebug is the ultimate authority.  I also think Kendra did have on snow pants under that stupid skirt.  Why they think they have to go that far to show they are a female makes no sense.   Wear pants when it is appropriate and skirts otherwise.  G*d expects you to have common sense.

  5. I think it would be insulting for Frank to say that Baker was only being offered a job because of her associations.   Now, to say that in addition to getting a great employee, the guy was getting an in with 1PP, that would be ok.  Then Baker can determine why she was offered a job herself.

  6. Baez is supposed to be a great detective even though all we ever see is her following Danny around. Danny is not her keeper.  He’s a little arrogant at blaming himself for not protecting her.

Question- she got deathly ill due  to on the job exposure... why wasn’t Frank Reagan at the hospital? Why weren’t any of her fellow detectives and officers at the hospital? She was in a coma for almost a week. Where was everyone?

  7. I think most people are going to find fault with the other woman. It’s an emotional response.  They may intellectually know the husband  is  responsible for his own choices and the one breaking a vow, but they will still have an emotional response.

  8. My son was born mid December. I have a Thanksgiving picture where I look ( and was) exhausted.   I’m a little shorter than Joy( I think). I carried him just like she is carrying hers. I think she’s due when she said and that it  is a big baby.   Just like a previous poster, I feel sorry for her if she delivers a little early because of all the  grief she will continue to get from ‘fans’.

She obviously loves Austin, who cares for her and at least has a skill that will keep them fed, housed and clothed.

I’m also happy that they stay off social media.

  9. Married couple have to alternate holidays. The Seewalds live several hours away from Ben and Jessa, so maybe they did Christmas Eve ( a lot of families do, my own included).  or the 23rd.  Presumably Ben and Jessa wanted early Christmas AM at home so Santa could come, then the Duggars just a few minutes away so the kids don’t spend most of Christmas Day away from their own home.  Not every decision they make is out of line.

  10. Well, that article sure lays out all the details. It’s old too, so we still don’t get a feel for the kids ‘processing’.  Hopefully Nancy is accurate in her current depiction of their relationship.  Still amazed at how easily people can hide their true nature.

We're always hearing that they have to follow up on every lead and every phone call from every paranoid old lady who hears something in the bushes, but a man tells them he's working on a deal to murder a woman, and they fail to take him down to the station and grill him. So what if he was on drugs at the time? I don't think that's any excuse to ignore what he said. Frank could have been set up for a sting at that point and Nancy spared all the horror she went through.

I thought they said they looked into it but couldn’t find any real info. The stepson/ addict only knew ‘John’, no last name, didn’t really have an address or a victims name? Just some ‘church  lady’.  The cops must have thought he was  doing that meth addict paranoid/delusional thing.  I hope that’s what it was- I hope they didn’t actually have a victims’ full name and didn’t bother to look it up.

  12. We only saw the son in video of him in the hallway outside the courtroom/ and possibly taking the stand as a character witness for his father.  Sounds like he didn’t want to be interviewed for tv cameras.  Can you blame him?

Since the daughters were interviewed, and then later did not return Dateline calls, a lot of this must have been filmed during the original trial.

I thought the daughters’ theory of blackmail was just full of holes. The only explanation of how their Dad and Billy came to know each other was supplied by Billy as a blind phone call from ‘John’.  Just how would these criminals have met their Dad, otherwise? How would they possibly know about the affair/ embezzlement to blackmail him about?   How would they have known Moms name and address? Remember, Billy’s stepson told the cops  about the murder plot before the murder.

If you believe that he has the affair, embezzled millions of dollars which he spent on a mistress, two love nests, and so forth... then why is the rest such a stretch? I was laughing about the daughters comment that humans have affairs, humans don’t commit murders. Are all the convicted murders space aliens?

I haven’t looked at the phones/texts on my spouses phone- I feel secure I don’t need to. So I’d be blindsided by an affair too.   They didn’t mention Facebook accounts, right?

  13. So this poor woman has lost her eye, her marriage, her vision of the man who was her husband and her children’s father, her children, her financial stability.    All because her husband decided to have her killed rather than divorce her.

I know children always look at their parents thru rose colored glasses, but Charlie said it best. ‘ Your Dad did it. There’s no getting around it’.

Visiting your Dad in jail doesn’t make him innocent.  He is still the same person, you’ve just learned a lot more about him.

I believe the Hee Haw gang.

I hope the children eventually come to terms with this.  It’s going to come as a  real shock when they figure out who he really is.

I found a news website that said she  only found a job a few months ago.

  14. Thank you Churchhoney.

I wonder how I know that fact then, because honestly, I haven't read the Koran. Maybe a pastor along the way mentioned it.

Pulled out my NAS bible. Specifically mentions Ishmael will have his own nation. Good enough for me

The Bible mentions Muslims? Or am I misreading, because Christianity came before Islam . I get the feeling I'm just misreading what you mean here.

When Sarah threw her husbands concubine and her child Ishmael of their home, they were promised their own covenant with God. Isn’t that when Islam  was founded? Or am I confusing it with another religion?

    • Love 3
  16. Pretty sure that Muslims already believe in God.  Actually very sure that the Bible mentions them specifically.

Early Missionaries  also thought they needed to convert everyone in sight rather than accepting lots of religions lead to the same God.

  17. We don’t see Happy and Toby make out,  so we don’t need to see Paige and Walter make out.  This episode was not holding my interest since it took 50 minutes for a 10 minute ambulance wait.

Other than Patty, the rest of the characters seemed much better off in the dream world. With the possible exception of Gabe?

    Ray, please leave.

  18. I’ve always remembered JD saying he wanted to be a pilot. Jim Bob and Michelle discouraging him because he might be gone overnight on flights.   They sure enjoy him flying them and theirs all over the country and beyond now.   I’m glad JD found a way to achieve at least one of his dreams.

  19. This show has always had twists.

Not saying the word merge when you put both tribes together while THEY think they are merged, for example.

Tribe swaps that save some people and doom others.  Exile island that saved people who were next to be voted off. People who got voted off when the boat landed on the beach.

The fact that this one came late in the game is no different.

Chrissy took gameplay and  made it Personal. ‘Ben, how dare you write my name. Explain why you did that, justify it.’ .  Turning on people because they dared to play their own game.  Ben didn’t expect people to play his game- he just adjusted his play accordingly. He voted out  Lauren ( my favorite) because he figured out there was a plan in place to vote him. That’s fair- that’s the same as Devon voting Mike out on a hunch.

Social game sounds easy on our couch. Substitute sleeping on the ground, a bathroom that’s a hole,  lack of  sleep, food, friends, TV, phone and COFFEE? I wouldn’t have social game either.

As to Cole, his food issue was a lot more than just eating a little extra peanut butter. The editors don’t make up scenes of someone  eating everything in sight. They can manipulate it- but they can’t show it out of thin air.

I missed Chrissy’s Joe knowledge comment - what was it again?
