Wouldn't that make them on the same side, then? Tell me like I'm Sonny.
-
I'd watch that on PPV!
-
I've seen Heidi on other MSNBC shows, so there must be a 'reason' she's not been on Morning Joe in forever.
-
Um, no. How about Wake Up With Willie! Honestly, I still think keeping the same name, but just featuring coffee cups and mugs as the logo works best.
-
There was no golf course available. This felt like an organic, spontaneous business meeting to me, but to each his/her own.
-
Not even a "Joe and Mika have the morning off" for days! Then I thought perhaps Mika's mom maybe had passed, but if that were the case, wouldn't Willie say, "Joe and Mika are dealing with a family matter." Something is definitely amiss. And I love it.

Pretty sure Morning Joe was a phrase way before this blowhard co-opted it, but I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV. Take turns showing coffee shops? For free? You know the Ad Department would be all over that! This former award-winning journalist HAD to know the origin. Here's what I found: The Origin Of a ‘Cup of Joe’ Each morning, millions of people choose to drink a hot cup of coffee. Why, though, is this drink referred to as ‘a cup of joe’? Indeed, how did coffee get this nickname? The origin of this phrase is uncertain. However, there are a few theories. One of them is as follows: Josephus Daniels, who was Secretary of the Navy, banned U.S. Navy ships from serving alcoholic beverages in the year 1914. This ban led to sailors consuming more coffee (among other drinks). Since Josephus Daniels was responsible for the ban and thus perhaps being partly blamed for the growing intake of coffee, they (the sailors) nicknamed the drink after him, thus it became ‘a cup of joe,’ Joe being short for Josephus. This theory, however, is considered to be unlikely. A more plausible sounding theory is mentioned at Snopes, where it’s explained that the word ‘joe’ can simply mean ‘an ordinary man.’ For example, perhaps you’ve heard the term ‘an average joe.’ This term is used to describe someone who is thought of as being an everyday, ordinary kind of person. Thus, nicknaming coffee as ‘a cup of joe’ would indicate that it’s a drink for the common man, or the average person.

Maybe (pretty please) the announcement will come next week - new hosts for the show. Ones that care enough to do homework, can read a teleprompter, don't shout at viewers or guests and, you know, SHOW UP in the studio! You wanna live in Florida? Enjoy, but I am no longer interested in seeing you in boxes. The show could still be called Morning Joe - just change the opening to a bunch of different coffee cups, mugs, coffee pots, beans, etc.

Not too far from the truth! This was back when Joe combed his hair to the side God intended.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue

Oh, I loved Casey the Alien! Seriously, I did! -
Alex Witt is not my favorite host, but she's doing a pretty darn good job juggling two breaking news stories, and covering for Ali Velshi. Impressive.
-
You have obviously never watched Morning Joe; the host is rarely in a suit and most days, looks like he just rolled out of bed and put on what he was wearing the day before. It's an insult to viewers!
-
Willie et al did a great job - the Seth Moulton interview was riveting. Willie gave it space to breathe. He is also willing to show up at the table, both literally and figuratively! If he wants it, please give the show to Willie and send the Wonder Twins to Peacock. Or anywhere off my screen. So tired of Mika's malaprops and cry-reading and Joe's rants and know-everything attitude. Please, MSNBC, pull the plug and give us viewers something great to watch!
-
Kudos to Chris Jansen, who was filling in for Stephanie Ruhle! After yet another discussion about baseball just before the 9 a.m. hour, Joe threw to her. She said, "And that concludes the sports portion of our coverage." Okay, that's not an exact quote, but it was AWESOME!

The only question is . . . which host will be absent? Please, MSNBC, pull the plug!
-
Marty Saybrooke! And Austin. Now that would be a match. Hahaha
-
If my husband - or my co-host - interrupted me as many times as Joe did that first hour, oh, baby. There would be Hell to pay! What a rude, arrogant jerk. And who else wears a button down shirt and a BLACK SWEATER in the middle of August. I must acknowledge, at least Mika was wearing a color.

If Rachel goes (NO!) to another network or just changes from hosting every single night, how about moving Brian Williams to her spot? He's terrific! And if the twins go to Peacock (PLEASE) or anywhere off my screen (PRETTY PLEASE) I'd be so happy. They are unwatchable.
-
Lawrence O'Donnell had a terrific explanation last night about why hair-on-fire is not appropriate in this situation. Clear, concise, and compelling. Maybe Joe and Mike could watch it for some hints on how to present a story. But that would require homework.

The Hosts Thread: Joe and Mika Know Their Value
KayVeeTeeVee replied to Dave23's topic in Morning Joe
Is that an option? Because why not? Let's try him out! -
This three-hour show is worse than Gilligan's Island. That three-hour tour at least included 'rescue plans' and schemes that never worked, cute outfits, a happy cast, and even occasional guest stars. This three hour gab fest has the same tired, worn-out guests. We KNOW what they're going to say. Especially Mike "Let me ask you this question" Barnicle. Just ask the damn question already, and David "I never met a comb I used" Ignatius . . . I could go on. At least Halperin and Ford are gone. But Heidi P. and Kasey Hunt I miss. Elise Jordan is okay, and gets in some saucy zingers. Please book someone who might have a fresh perspective. And, as someone upstream opined, how about discussing the infrastructure bill, how we can help Haiti and Afghanistan - not just whose fault it was - as well as wildfires and climate change, and how about bringing back Willie's News You Can't Use. Something cheery. Jeebus, Joe and Mika. It's freakin' August. Black, black, black outfits and fleece every day. The world is depressing enough. Someone get the hook and put us viewers out of our misery!
-
I believe this is why the term clusterf*<k became popular. And right after that segment, she was back to editorializing. Shameful.
-
She is unwatchable this morning. It's all Biden's fault, don't you agree with me? Where's the hook?

Anyone else catch that Mika spends a lot of time in Florida. You LIVE there, girlfriend! No Joe again? What is going on? Just give the show to Willie. Pretty please?
