I would like to see Jason do an upbeat program. Actually, what I really would like to see is an updated reprise of Riverdance. It would be fun to see the difference 12 years of experience would make to this iconic program.

For all those who complained about sending Jason Brown to Worlds this year, now you know why. No US man other than Ilia and Jason are consistent enough to get the US three placements. Jason ended up fourth in the Free Skate and had the highest component scores.

I have to make a correction to my post above about the USA qualifying three pairs to the Olympics. The placement does qualify three pairs to the 2026 Worlds but since the Olympics limits the number of contestants in each discipline, the USA just has the CHANCE to qualify three teams. To automatically qualify three teams for Olympics, a country had to have three teams in the Free Skate. Since the USA only had two teams competing, the placement means that the USA can send one pairs team to the Qualifying Event in Beijing in September. If that team places in the top three, then the USA gets a third entry in Pairs. The team that competes in Beijing cannot have competed in Boston. However, since Chan/Howe did not go to Worlds and are considered a top pairs team, the USA has a really good chance to win the third spot. Whew, I know this complicated, but what about figure skating rules isn’t?

2/ 5 with 1*. i knew North Korea was the Hermit Kingdom but I never thought they would match it with South Korea. Oh well, I’ll bring my new fave cuisine, Korean Fried Chicken, which knows neither North nor South.

To be fair, Nationals in the same year as Worlds in the US is usually under attended. Many US fans can’t afford to do both and Boston is particularly expensive. Also, Worlds, as one would expect, draws fans from all over the world. Canada and Japan have large numbers of fans who attend.

Wow! Three placements in pairs for the USA in next year’s Olympics. When was the last time that happened?

I wonder if they would have accepted just “ butterfly “ for FJ?

3/5, no *. Thanks to those who have explained the security alert. I’m not really worried about it and hanging out with you all is worth a little computer risk.

4/5. Once again I’m at the cool kids table. How unusual for me.

When I saw Harvey was featured on the ABC Evening News, I knew he was a goner. A Jeopardy Champ doesn’t get national attention until the end of the run. I also wondered about his stamina. He looked like he was having trouble with the buzzer in tonight’s game. But congratulations to him for being a Jeopardy Champ. We may see him again if there’s another Second Chance Tournament.

0/5, 0*. At least I’m with the cool kids.

I had a crush on Chris the stripper in his previous episodes so I was embarrassed that I never recognized him (or lusted after him) on High Potential. Also I just discovered the actor is Australian, which I never would have guessed from his portrayal of Oz. Speak for yourself!

I’m sorry that Eddie turned out to be a memory ghost. It would have been interesting to see a high powered, cutthroat character show his softer side in dealing with his brother. -

Ken, I love you, but please stop making JIT a word!

It was jarring to see Drew B in this episode after five straight episodes of Ardianna and Isaac in the same podium positions. Every time they showed Drew, I was expecting to see Neilish.
-
1/5. i was like Isaac on three FJs. I knew what they were asking about, just not the name. If only you got credit for descriptions!
-
Well, I have to say, that’s how you do a cliffhanger! When does next season start?
-
2/5, no *. I started off hot, but lost it in the last three days. And I miss Drew ( Goins, that is.) 😪
-
1/5 with 1*. And none of the contestants I was rooting for moved on. Grrr!

2/5 with 1* Back from Wichita and the skating and finished going through the archives. Missed you all and the food selections.
-
2/5 with 1 *. I’m off to Wichita for the US Figure Skating Championships so I will be late in reporting my scores next week. As always, I will wave at you from the stands if you are watching the competition.
