I have always thought Tursynbaeva has looked anorexic. I am surprised it hasn’t been mentioned here until lately. I have always felt uncomfortable watching her with her twiglike arms and legs, and now she’s being rewarded for these “quads.” Every time I have watched her skate through the years, I have wondered why someone isn’t helping her be more healthy. Also, her long program music grates. I know it’s cool around here to hate on Vincent Zhou, but I thought he was fantastic here. To my eyes, I only saw one UR in his long, and it was the one apparently got dinged for? I am not sure why everyone hates him so much. He went out and got the job done. I cannot stomach Hanyu, but even I can admit he went out there and threw down. Chen was like a wizard. I want to watch that program again and again. I hope Johnny is excited about the amount of times he found ways to overenuciate any Russian last name he could. And I’m not sure if Tara is under a contractual obligation to say the words QUAD REVOLUTION every time Jin Boyang skates, but just in case, I have a few names for her: Brian Joubert. Alexei Yagudin. Evgeni Plushenko. Timothy Goebel. Sheesh.

I fast forward almost any time Sal Stowers is on. I can’t with her “acting,” and the way she pronounces -ing as -ink. Lani May also be the most boring character on the canvas. I do not like SH as Kristen. It’s so weird; as Susan I don’t mind her, but as Kristen....”old snake” is a perfect descriptor. For some reason I find her tattoos off putting as well. I guess Kristen could have gotten some tattoos in the interim, but...? Eh. I have not minded KM back as Abigail, but she has done nothing award-worthy.

I wonder if Chris Knierim and the other internet crazies are going to go after Phil Hersh now.

I just finished that video about 5 minutes ago, so that was quick. Chris Knierim seems to be trolling people who are tweeting concerns about the allegation(s), basically telling a lot of people they don’t know what they are talking about. I don’t know if “trolling” is the correct term, but it’s just kind of odd. WhitneyWhit I know what you mean about him and kind of agree.

Gracie has withdrawn from Nationals, per her Instagram.

I hope that something truly bad didn’t happen to her. I do not surmise this, but still.

Ryan has definitely toned down the I’m-speaking-to-a-roomful-of-kindergarteners commenting style. He has gotten better.

This is shallow, but I am also super eyerolly at his Intense!, I-AM-THE-BEST! faces that he makes at the end of every performance.

Did anyone watch the Olympics Channel coverage and hear Ashley Wagner commentating? She was a little rough commentating for pairs, but picked it up for singles, and I enjoyed it. I liked hearing from someone who had skated with most of these skaters. I still like Tanith and Charlie White best. Ryan Bradley has been better this year. I am pretty jazzed about Gracie’s return. Unpopular opinion: I will be so glad when we are out of the Hanyu era. Can’t stand that guy.

I didn’t know Eve was leaving. Huh.

I just wish Zagitova would hold some of those positions. I kept waiting for an awesome spiral or Ina Bauer, and she got out of the position in the blink of an eye.

I don’t understand the “lack of story” Stephen Nichols is referring to. I feel like he has had a lot of story. It is not necessarily GOOD story, but still.
