  1. Enigma X, when the Ancestry.com DNA test first came out, I was one of the first people on the block to order it. However, to date, it still sits unspit in on my bookcase. i have no idea why I didn't do it yet. Do you know if this test is a really eye-opening, you're not going to believe the results type of test?
  2. It sure is diverse. I do admit too, being a fan of history, I'm looking forward to Ken Burns too. The only thing I have to kick myself in the butt for is why didn't I have this interest in my family and it's ancestors when all my grandparents and older aunts and uncles were alive? I could have found out a lot, I think, or at least more than I know now on certain parts of the family.
  3. Great line-up! Looking forward to Anderson Cooper...I love that guy. Thanks so much Enigma X for posting this...will set the Tivo when it comes time for these shows to start airing!
  4. Thank you helenamonster, that is exactly who I was referring to. I enjoyed her act and was looking forward to seeing her again, but as I see from the comments that followed mine, there are a lot of people who mysteriously disappeared after the auditions. I don't know what they did to what was one of my favorite shows, but I want it back.
  5. i don't know what happened to the show I adore, but this season sucks. I have no one I am actively rooting for. With that being said, can anyone tell me... 1). how did that illusionist do that trick with the man cut in half? 2). what happened to the woman who did some pretty good impressions? didnt she make it through? Thank you for any help!
  6. I held out hope there was still a chance to be picked but the casting is completed now and it says to check back in the spring of 2015. Good luck to all of us for next season. edited because picked and pucked have two entirely different meanings
  7. Thank you Buggin for the list of pros appearing next season. I had put myself in exile from this show for two seasons after watching every single episode of every single season since the show premiered because I loathe Derek. everytime I see his face on tv, I want to throw something at him. so before I cost myself thousands of dollars, i stopped watching. however, i came back last season because my gorgeous Max was back on and adorable Charlie was competing. since neither one will be there this coming season, i go back into self-imposed exile, emerging only to come here and have some laughs because I know you will snark very well. finally, why is it whenever I see the name "Witney" i read "Whitey"? strange.
  8. ARRRGGGHHH! lol Well I'm happy for your fellow member, I am sad for us. But I guess there's always next year. Geez, I thought my Civil War deserting GGGrandfather would have sealed the deal for me..lol But thanks for confirming you didn't get a confirmation. I was worried that after all that work to submit my story was for naught. Which it is now, but in a different way..:-) We'll get 'em next year!
  9. Hey Enigma X, it just dawned on me that I didn't get a confirmation of my submission. Did you get anything? Needless to say, I haven't heard a word yet, and I believe they will start filming in about a month or so.
  10. The thing I keep laughing about is the stripper , who we are told, just had a stroke and is paralyzed on the right side. if so, why was she moving her right hand and fingers as they loaded her up on the stretcher and were taking her out of the room? Edited because I spelled some words wrong
  11. I agree Vera Charles. While I enjoy watching everyone's backstory, Tim McGraw held a special place because my mom's father's side also were part of the Palantine immigration. Maybe our ancestors were neighbors? :-)
  12. Another favorite is Jay Thomas' Lone Ranger story "they'll believe ME citizen!" and on the same show, Darlene Love's Christmas Baby Please Come Home. But speaking of that show, I miss Paul and his Cher impression.
  13. The new season begins, I believe, on June 25 and will air another show the following night on the 26th.
  14. Good luck to you also Enigma!
  15. I have two that drive me wild with angst and a whole bunch of piss-offedness when I see them. The first one is that absolutely stupid, stupid, stupid Jimmie Dean sausage commercial with the sun living in a house and being married. He even has a staring contest with his wife. Come on here..the SUN?? really?? and they keep going with this character. This is truly one case where I hope the sun burns itself out because everytime this commercial comes on, I scream at the tv. The sun...really! The second one is the stupid coach and Time Warner Cable. In particular, the one where the wife comes in and admonishes the hubby for buying things they don't need to get a good deal. Stupid coach comes in and says why do that? With TWC you only have to buy what you want. You lie Coach!!!! If we could buy only what we want, we could purchase an ala carte menu of programming we wish to view and not have to buy, pay for and never watch channels broadcast in a language I don't speak and never will because it doesn't relate to my family, sports that I loathe with the fire of 1000 nuns (TWoP shoutout!), and generally all channels I tell my TiVo to block since I will never, ever, EVER watch them. So take that Coach, you lying liar!! I have no choice and have to purchase the crap you force me to. That's why I don't have TWC and never will. Oh, and yes, I know who the coach is. I have a friend who adores the Steelers.
  16. Thank you Lola 16. That song intrigues me. I must Google and listen to the whole thing. Thanks again! ETA: Another thank you Lola 16 for not pointing out I am a dumbass! lol I just listened to the song..and it is NOT Bon Jour...Shut the door....it IS Bon Jour...Je T'adore....lol I"m so embarrassed..lol
  17. Thank you for the info on Genealogy Roadshow Enigma X! After watching episode after episode of WDYTYA? and grumbling after each episode that there should be something out there for the "little" people, I was happy to see the GR come about and watched last seaon's episodes. Then I grumbled about how does one go about getting on this show, and thanks to you, I now know how! Thank you!
  18. Bonjour...shut the door! Is that a real song?
  19. I think two of my all time favorite bits are the F**k you guy and How many people dressed in a _______ suit can fit in Starbucks (or McDonalds, etc). The thing that cracked me up the most is the bizarre costume choices that came out when the selected suit of the day was no longer available. I truly had tears in my eyes every time that bit was on.
  20. Just when I think I got everyone down pat, I watch the next episode to air and I get all kinds of confused again. Sucks to be me. However, the one thing I must comment on this episode is that I'm so glad all the British officers were drunks as skunks, otherwise, they would have noticed Abe's glaring at Mrs. Strong at every opportunity he got and also every time they came together in a dance, they whispered to each other. If the Brits were sober, they might have noticed something is going on and someone is not who they appear to be.
  21. Amen to the Prince Poppycock love! I love His Highness to much that when I found out he was having an auction of some of his items on eBay, I bid and won his "Sick Red Shoes". When I hold them, I handle them like I'm holding an original copy of the Declaration of Independence!
