  1. Original Frasier was really fortunate to have their roster of theatre actors including DHP, John Mahoney, Bebe Neuwirth, Brian Stokes Mitchell (Cam Winston), and more. I think it's unlikely DHP will come back as a regular because he is East Coast based and is comfortable where he is career and life wise. Bebe did not want to be a regular on the original show because she wanted to stay in theatre in NYC. Mitchell did not stay on the show as Cam for the same reason. Both DHP and Bebe probably like Julia because it is shot on location New England. There's a great interview with them and they seem quite close because of the NYC theatre scene, probably closer than they are with Kelsey.
  2. Memory Rick says that after they got back, Memory Rick was left in Jerry's mind whether by accident or purpose by Rick. If Memory Rick was in the gestalt, he would have a lot more access than springs and gears.
  3. Yes. It use to be that Jerry was the audience stand in but it's a credit to his development the last couple of seasons (this ep too) that the family is so uniquely bonded in its sci-fi adventures that Gene is now the everyman. A really fun episode! As the episode went on, I thought "They pulled a Tuvix." I felt really bad for Beth and the family by the end especially when Summer pointed how Jerricky was both walking out on Beth. Yeesh. I loved the tag about memory Rick!
  4. Since I am watching this show live and not a binge, I am really hoping things pick up because this ep and the last one were weak. I think there is a lot weak character writing. I continue to not care about Sylvie. I have liked Gugu Mbatha-Raw since her film Belle and she can be stunning in the right costume. Renslayer is not believable because why is she doing this? For power? I guess. Miss Minutes is a crazy AI clock so that's fine to have her as a literal caricature. The stuttering was over the top and annoying. Don't think Majors is a good actor. Don't care about He Who Remains as a villain. Mobius and Loki continue to be a highlight but Loki spent too much time with Sylvie again.
  5. Probably not. If this show forum were closed, we'd have to start a new thread so the followers will have to follow that one.
  6. For me, it's the trio plus occasional dose of Uma. I enjoyed her episode this season because Hoffman gave that character emotional depth. When Matthew Broderick tells her "You're alot of fun," in this ep, I didn't think he was acting.
  7. This is a separate new show so under forum guidelines, we needed a full forum with the episode threads. The forums aren't creating subforums anymore so it can't be moved. The Jeopardy! main forum is unique because we have a season's long thread while other show forums would have episode or weekly threads. Having long threads is not really user friendly but I think for our group over in Jeopardy, it works. You can follow this forum using the Follow button on the main show page. 82 posters are following it now and it'll show up on your customized main forum page or send you notifications when new threads are posted.
  8. I've been listening to a coupled hyped celebrity hosted podcasts. I got into Smartless very late so I listened to a bunch. They were okay based mainly on the guests. Made me realize more than ever that Jason Bateman is a true nepo baby who is out of touch with the world. I like Sean Hayes more now though. I listened to Strike Force Five with the late night hosts and it's one of my better new podcasts I've listened to in a long time. Like a lot of people, I loved the Strike Force Wives episodes and game. It was funny how badly Fallon made that game. Loved them roasting him on it while being really wholesome about their wives and families. I also love the story about Stephen's mom having dated a Nicaraguan dictator ("Poor Tacho") and how Stephen now has his pants. It's too bad the show is over and I really hope they do occasional specials for charity and bring Conan on.
  9. UK Original Air Date: October 24, 2023. US Netflix Date: October 27, 2023.
  10. I agree that of all the Cheers crew, Frasier and Sam had the most lasting friendship. I still don't think they would hang out very often but there was respect and fondness there. That visit on Frasier made more sense than the other Cheers cameos. I like Ted Danson in general so I wouldn't mind a visit there.
  11. I've read that the show does get better as it progresses through S1. Some Frasier fans were in the taping for a couple of eps and they said that the show finds a better groove later on. Hope so because I found a lot of weakness in the dialogue and some of the characters. I expected this would a standard generic sitcom and it felt that way. I have low expectations. I do admire Kelsey Grammar for trying to keep this going and still playing Frasier 40 years later. The original Frasier had a lot of good stage and theatre work as both DHP and John Mahoney both had strong theatre backgrounds. The staging of the original was often like in a play with the kitchen asides and comedy bits. They tried to replicate it here but the chemistry and writing is not there for them to ham it up. At least not yet. As for Frasier's wealth, both he and Lilith were established as well off and rich in the Cheers run. Unlike most divorces, Lilith probably did not make him pay anything other than contributing to Freddie's education and childcare. By the time he got to Seattle, Frasier was already very well off. I can see how more lucrative TV work would just add onto his net worth.
  12. By that time, Frasier did have that habit and was friendly with everyone at Cheers. He likely lived and/or worked near by as well. Also Frasier had a busier job so the Cheers group were some of his only friends outside of work. Objectively though, Frasier and the others didn't really have much in common for them all to stay in touch though especially after he moved back to Seattle.
  13. The episode was fine, not the best opener but had some amusing moments. I actually really like the new Rick voice actor. The teasers did not give enough but the voice is better at the emotional bits. He has the Rick sigh too. There's a good article about the selection process from The Hollywood Reporter. They wrote this awhile back but Hugh Jackman and his wife are divorcing so the joke about the Tony worked here.

  16. Digestives are a specific type of biscuit which is sometimes a synonym for a cookie in the UK. I love digestives especially the chocolate coated kind. It's not a catch-up all term for all cookies or biscuits.
  17. I'm with you. I rarely dislike a character like this in an otherwise great show. This show has great art direction, fun sci-fi, and brilliant leads and supporting cast (now expanded!), but I still don't like Sylvie. I watched S1 on a binge so this will be my first time watching it live. I really liked not having her around. Don't think it's the actor's abilities or even the chemistry because Tom Hiddleston can have chemistry with a phone book. I just don't feel for her and I don't care about their star crossed self-love relationship. Love Mobius. Really liked OB and the other TVA cast as usual. I don't care about Kang either but I've read reviews of the first 4 eps are generally favourable so here's to another fun season.
  18. Yes I thought that too but Oliver had financial troubles. I don't think he has the capital or capability to execute the business part of being a producer.
  19. If anything the success of the show and the publicity around the arrests may boost sales. Another producer will step in to fill the gap because the show has potential to be a hit. Donna is not a flight risk so she may be able to transition things after she gets bail.
