  1. Gary Burghoff's performance in these two episodes seems a little off. His voice seems different and we don't see any of Radar's mannerisms. I think the actor had already divorced himself from the role and once that was done it was hard for him to get back into character.
  2. Not exactly a Halloween commercial, but I did see the Tootsie Pop commercial with the kid asking various animals how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie pop about a dozen times while watching "Mike & Molly" on TVLand yesterday. That commercial has been around at least 40 years and it seems to air more around Halloween time.
  3. Good night, everyone! I told my boss I'd work on some things Sunday and I still have two hours.
  4. "I'll have a Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity and a paternity test, please."
  5. Not a fan of gin. Can mine be filled with sauvignon blanc?
  6. The audience was borrowed from Maury Povitch. They were expecting to hear whether or not Riley was the father of Violet's baby. They don't know how to react to anything else.
  7. Is Nichola incapable of closing his mouth all the way?
  8. You can lead a herring to water, but you have to walk very fast or it will die.
  9. As a fan of The Golden Girls, I heart this so much. Also, some of the idiots on this show remind me of the people Rose talked about in Saint Olaf.
  10. Not a big Meisha fan, but her dress is gorgeous. The embellishment around the neck is stunning.
  11. Statler "works from home." Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
  12. Maybe she means "good buy dinner." Like she had a coupon.
  13. "The Last Supper? Why was it called the Last Supper?" ~ Gino in Sunday school
  14. From the Elizabeth Taylor Diamonique collection at QVC.
  15. That's a direct quote from Christopher Columbus, probably.
  16. My cousin had a suit like Christian's. He wore it to my grandfather's retirement party in 1981.
  17. In the episode "End of the Curse," Dorothy and Rose have an extended back-and-forth about Spanish Fly. Rose says that she's been to Spain and Valencia alone has hundreds of flies. And here I was thinking that the most exotic place Rose ever visited was Tyler's Landing.
  18. I can totally see one or more of my cats pretending not to know me in public.
  19. Those Time-Life Treasury of Christmas commercials always started up in September. Mom and I would also bet on who would see it first.
  20. Yeah, Carol was treating Alice like one of the kids there. I recall another time when Carol and Alice were putting dishes away and apparently the dishes weren't clean enough and Carol kind of shook her head disapprovingly at Alice. Kay was probably a much better housekeeper than Alice, but Carol needed someone to be her friend too and that wasn't how Kay rolled. One of my least favorite episodes of the series aired Sunday on MeTV -- "The Big Bet." Greg bets Booby he can do twice as many chin-ups as Shrimpo and when he fails to do so, he has to do pretty much everything Bobby tells him. I am thinking that both Mike and Carol realized their mistake in not leaving Bobby at Grand Canyon when he poked a hole in the convertible top at the drive-in with an umbrella. A replacement cover was $150. That would be $1,010 today.
