  1. This episode tonight "Old Dog- New tricks"intrigues me because it may be the last Santana appearance, yes I know they say she's not formally fired but she was apparently written out of the last episode of the season so I'm not holding my breath we will ever see her again on Glee.
  2. Yup, to come off looking like a self centered asshole in a BTS video doesn't mean you are one. But hey, it happens. Hopefully someone reigns his girlfriend BTS person, and advices her that while she many not be a completely biased self serving unprofessional BTS person, her finished work is certainly making her look that way by focusing so much on her boyfriend even in episodes where he's not heavily featured. I'm sure they all are "nice" in real life.
  3. Or at least primer sheets since his comedy falls so flat.
  4. Chris QA: TVLINE | So we shouldn’t expect Kurt to break up with, then murder, Blaine? "No, no that won’t happen in this episode. Maybe Season 6, but the blood won’t be on my hands. That’ll be someone else’s episode." Oh that Chris....
  5. When Glee got the two year renewal it's season finale got a 2.0 Demo. Now it's dipped to .9 and may go lower in the first year of a two year renewal. That neither FOX nor Glee expected it to dip so much is obvious, since most of the shows cancelled by FOX this year (Almost Human, XFACTOR, Dads, etc) averaged higher ratings than .9 for their season. There is not "bottom" yet for Glee since the initial rating for Episode 5.18 was .8 and could have easily stayed there. The drop off in both ratings and audience for Glee puts it in the bottom rung of FOX shows, while it's production costs (with perhaps the exception of "American Idol") puts it among the most expensive shows produced by FOX. IF the show drops to .8 or .7 FOX will have a hard time justifying cancelling other shows with higher demos. They were caught with their pants down and now it's just spin/spin/spin to justify that insane two year renewal.
  6. Doesn't negate she had been playing the role on Broadways since the opening for less than a month. IF someone saying she is going to be playing the role for 10 to 15 years to see her already terrified of that prospect would not only make Patti Lupone beat Rachel senseless as if she was Andrew LLoyd Webber but Bernadette Peters would tar and feather her for good measure. Rachel would be basking her BW success, if that was truly her dream. Wanting to move forward after laughably one month shows the writers wrote themselves into a corner and as usual, were lazy as shit in getting out of it.
  7. IIRC Chord Overstreet's "Something" in Episode 5.02 didn't even crack the top 1500 in itune sales.
  8. It seems that after Glee was renewed for two seasons at the end of Season 4, it was more speculative explanations were given to justify "why" FOX did it , as opposed to any quantifiable datat that supported Glee merited it. While it was FOX's call it certainly looks like they are just saving face at this point for their boneheaded move. Firing all the Noobs half way through the season and rebooting the show while using regulars Jane and Matt for just one episode down the final stretch doesn't translate to a show that had any clear direction.
  9. God, both literally and figuratively, in the BTS video for the Chris Colfer episode Darren is a "mini me". Did love both Chords and Kevin's limited contributions.
  10. Yet despite that, I would imagine some US show do well. I think Glee's poor quality in addition to the weird scheduling contributed more than somewhat to their decline in the UK. It's like several strikes against Glee didn't help.
  11. That doesn't even begin to describe it. For once the public has spoken was right in that placement wise, it is the second worst selling Glee singe of the entire season. It cracked the top 1400 for a split second and than slunk away.
  12. From what I understand, Glee tanked big time the last couple of years in both Australia and UK as far as ratings, as dramatically as it has in the US. Is Glee really that big in other non English speaking countries ? As far as textbook examples of things, I think it is going to boil down that FOX renewing Glee for two seasons will go down as one of the most boneheaded ill timed preemptive moves by a network. To have (after the fact) the lowest rated show of FOX first 5 nights get a 2 year renewal is one if those idiocies that no matter what FOX does does is Lose/ lose. FOX has no choice now but to drink the marketing kool aide that Glee is "special" with social media and teenagers and preteens as well as 100k households. Which is pure bullshit when you note that they can't even get decent ITuNE sales anymore and I'm guessing their merchandising is a fraction what it used to be.
  13. "Kevin/Jenna and Kevin/Vanessa (Sugar) both supposedly dated but parted amicably." Uh. No.
  14. I seriously doubt it. You know if this was another show that had genuine balls and cared for Kurt as a character, they could easily set up a situation, that being human and hungry for success, Kurt does a Faustian pact to not say he's gay, or pretend he's straight, in order to secure a dream role for whatever contrived reason they could whip up.. Shit, just say Burt needs a major operation and Kurt is offered $$$$$$, whatever it takes... Sure it would put Kurt initially in a bad but FLAWED HUMAN light, and more importantly, Chris would act the living daylights of such a scenario, (could be played for both comedy and drama) but of course we are talking Glee where (a) the Showrunners are no longer interested in highlighting Chris/Kurt as the actual lead in a multi episode arc SL, and (b) Murphy has pigenoholed him into always taking the "high road" because of his own hangups. So instead we'll get SL's where Rachel and Blaine get mega success and Sam whips off his shirt as a successful model and Mercedes deals with the pitfalls of being a recording star.
  15. Rachel on Broadway has had some good comedic moments. However the comedy would work better if Rachel's Broadway SL didn't turn dramatic and 'serious' before she gets another prize. If the comedy was played throughout so that the other characters look with dismay at Rachel again having more good fortune despite her Diva attitude she could be at least be the character you love to hate. Intentionally. The joke would be she doesn't learn and is progressively worse. It's hard to sustain that, grant you, but it at least would make current episodes more bearable since everything would be a farce. Think the Alec Baldwin character in 30 Rock. Unlike Darren, Lea can play comedy so it would be a Broadway "Puppet Master" vibe but where the comedy was played by someone who actually knows about timing. ( I thought Rachel's diva fit in "Opening Night" at the loft cutting Sam's guitar strings, dismantling Kurt's ' Babs' letter was hilarious) Unfortunately the mood shifts from comedy to angst and the end of her episodes we are suppose to take at face value Rachel's "struggles" and eventual triumph.
  16. I wonder how Klainers feel when the show keeps on piling on why they (Klaine) shouldn't be engaged now and that maybe Kurt and Blaine should figure out first what they want in life. Reminds me of Season 3 Finchell.
  17. True, but at the same time the burden isn't on Kurt to figure out if Blaine is outright lying (which he was) to his face. The episode clearly pointed out that Kurt thought June hated him and that he wasn't expecting to be used in Blaine's showcase. So Blaine lying about it was more about Blaine wanting to look like a good guy rather than sparing Kurt's feelings about something the dialogue showed Kurt already knew, ie that June was not interested in him. Blaine was spending 6 hours a day with June and Kurt was fine with that. How that can be twisted that Kurt wouldn't know June was only interested in Blaine at this late date... So Blaine's lying is a steaming pile he's deliberately waded into completely on his own...
  18. Heh. I forgot to add all the time while beating Rachel Patti is screaming " WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? HOW DARE YOU? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?HOW DARE YOU? THIS IS THE THEATER!!"
  19. It tied a first year CW show for Demos. Even "The Mindy Project" beat Glee by .3 Demo points last night. Hell the cancelled :"DADS" did better against "The Voice" earlier this year on Tuesdays, if I"m not mistaken. Glee is consistently now the lowest rated FOX show in the Sunday thru Thursday time slots. For comparison, FOX just cancelled "Almost Human" which had a seasond ending 1.5 Demo. I doubt Glee will ever see a 1.5 again except in a fantasy dream sequence of Rachel's reality show. The two year FOX renewal occurred when Glee still managed a 2.0 for it's season 4 finale.
  20. Well there is a God, so far "Piece of Shit:" whoops I mean "Piece of my Heart" hasn't even cracked the top 1500 in the ITUNES singles as far as I iknow.
  21. Yea, most of Glee's audience left in droves by season 4 and the extended fuckery of the school year in Season 5 put the final nail in the coffin. They'll be battling and probably losing versus the CW next year if FOX is insane enough to give Glee more than a 13 episode order. Or even a 13 episode order might be too hard to sustain rating respectability.
  22. A show with .8 Demos is suppose to run for a full season next year? Doubt it.
  23. No problem and I don't necessarily disagree, but I guess my contention is even with that perception of him they don't actually use him in SL's or much screen time anymore where he's the protagonist. Even "Bashed" he was the minor C plot and the whole Bashing SL seemed more just to see Kurt beat up and bounce back in abbreviated fashion than actually flesh out anything for the character to do in the episode. They spent far more time agonizing about the epic Samcedes love affair.
  24. I beg to differ, the whole point of the number "Wake me Up" was to convey the numbness of Rachel doing the same thing over and over and over again. Sorry but bored with Broadway success after 40 fucking performances would have had Patti Lupone beat the living shit out of Rachel and then making her run buck naked through the streets of Broadway while she beat her some more for good measure.. Fair enough, Trubthaboutluv, but I was also responding to your statement that the writers have a "boner for Kurt". I think not giving him SL's and a developed POV doesn't equate to that. They may not "hate" him but they are not interested in building SL's around him anymore, so that's why I disagree that he's their boner boy. That lies squarely with Rachel and Blaine and to some extent baby Boner boy , Sam.
  25. The point is Kurt is given little Screen time to explore his career options. And please , after 3 episodes in NY Blaine is being offered the show biz world in a silver platter by a rich socialite, somehow we are suppose to believe that Blaine is really struggling after one single shot episode to be quickly forgotten? However Sam may have no career success yet ( it's obviously coming per spoilers) but he and Mercedes were the focus of practically an entire episode, which hasn't happened with Kurt since Season 2.
