  1. "I think he'll probably be successful since he has a big fan base." I think the fan base of any of the Glee actors is suspect as far as guaranteeing or sustaining success for anything they do post Glee. For example, Lea would appear to have the biggest fan base of all (something like 4.5 million twitter followers IIRC), so while her album domestically hasn't doing horribly, selling close already to a respectable 90,000 copies it hardly seem commensurate to her perceived fan base. OTOH, I'm puzzled when people say Lea won't be a "movie star", 99.99 % of actors who have a successful movie career, being employed in roles big and small are not "movie stars" on the scale of a Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, or Leonard DeCaprio. Lea certainly has a shot at appearing in movie and TV roles even if she doesn't become a A-List actress.
  2. "Darrin seems to be trying the broadway thing." I don't get that impression; it seems he's still trying to get his album released and as far as I know that 3 week gig on Broadway over 3 1/2 years ago has been his only stage work in 5 years.
  3. I would think most of the actors on Glee would consider it win/win if they can manage to make a living in their chosen profession once Glee ends. They may not get the spotlight as intensely focused as it was during Glee's peak, but that doesn't mean they won't be employed. Mark Hamill, of "Star Wars" fame, for example, has earned a very nice living through the decades with voice-over gigs on numerous TV shows. The only "sure" thing IMO is Jane Lynch, she already has a TV show on NBC and her professional standing and rep is such that roles in TV and movies shouldn't be a problem for her. She's very well respected and she built up two decades of solid work before Glee. With everyone else, it depends on a lot of factors. Though with Matt and Lea, it's hard to believe Broadway wouldn't be clamoring for their services, they have stage cred and name recognition due to Glee.
  4. "Late summer" are we talking Early August or late August or even the end of July? That's pretty vague. As to Glee's shooting schedule, if they cut down from 22 episodes (as originally planned) to say, 13 episodes, they may have some leeway when to start filming, but at the same time cast and crew have bills to pay, mortgages, rent, etc, etc. So I wouldn't expect too much of a delay. Feasibly if the movie doesn't start production until the very end of August and Glee starts shooting in the middle or end of July, Chris could be in Glee's first few episodes. Once he starts filming in England, My guess is Chris could miss up to two full episodes regardless.
  5. Glee takes up so much time I wouldn't set too much store on who's done what on outside gigs until Glee closes shop and the actors have genuine options due to not having anymore schedule constraints.
  6. Quinn / Puck the breakup was epic. In my head canon.
  7. You are sooo transparent Heyerchick... No Klaine wedding is what you think is a good place...LOL
  8. There was a fan fiction a couple of years back that I liked where Blaine is inspired by Burt being a congressman to get into politics and public service. Considering what a people pleaser Blaine is and how his character was surprisingly linked to gay marriage with references about it even since Season Two; I always thought that would be an interesting route to go with Blaine. Singing Senator so to speak.
  9. Kevin Costner didn't even attempt an English accent. And if Daniel Day Lewis can play Lincoln, well then Meryl Streep can play Margaret Thatcher. Though of course, those two can play whatever fuck they want.
  10. I think Max Adler was thinking from the POV that there were more tales to tell with the Karofsky character, and as an actor with obvious self interest invested in the character I can't blame him for that. Considering the horrible characters giving oodles of screen time through the years (I'm talking to you Becky), and 2.0 Noobs at McKinley sucking up screentime, Karofsky was sufficiently "redeemed" that giving him a conclusion SL arc wasn't the worst thing Glee could have done. So in that sense I don't think Max was delusional in thinking they could have given Karofsky more. Some fans were visceral against him but that was the usual suspects and not any larger than the contingent of "angry Lesbian bloggers" that Ryan Murphy didn't mind offending on a regular basis. Just saying.
  11. Who the hell thought that Pippin number with June and Blaine where she's featured was some kind of showcase for Blaine's talents? WTF? At least "American Boy" as entertainingly bad as it was, (no boys, you can't rap nor do you have street cred) was not intended be taken serious.
  12. I do feel bad for the cast and crew but I just don't think FOX is going to let them film 13 more episodes.
  13. So any predictions how long it will take FOX to "rethink" Season 6. I mean, a .6 Demo for a show off the air for 8 months...does FOX have a choice without being lynched by its affiliates and advertisers?? They can't order even a half season with those numbers, can they?
  14. Holy fuck. FOX Glee - Season Finale 0.6/ 1.92 They lost to fucking CW by .3 points. Forget 13 episodes, I wouldn't be surprised if FOX cancels it outright now. A .6 Season finale, are you fucking kidding me???
  15. Could explain why Chris/Kurt was conspicuously left out of early Season 6 teaser info..(unlike Rachel, Blaine and Sam)
  16. Fuck, Chris just landed a doozy of a role: http://www.screendaily.com/news/glees-colfer-joins-noel-coward-biopic/5071684.article?referrer=RSS "Glee star Chris Colfer is attached to lead cast in Noel (working title), the Noel Coward biopic scripted by Bent and Mrs Henderson Presents writer Martin Sherman. Sir Ian McKellen, Vanessa Redgrave and Jonathan Pryce are in talks to join the cast of the feature, which portrays the early life and influences of the famously flamboyant British playwright, producer and wit who penned classics including Private Lives and Blithe Spirit and who worked on films including Brief Encounter and In Which We Serve, for which he was Oscar-nominated."
  17. Here is a scary thought, Ryan and Company are "free" to do what they want. FOX has essentially written them off as a mid season lame duck show so by the time they wrap production on a 13 episode order they would have gone in whatever direction with no fear of correction or consequences.
  18. Who the hell is Chord fucking so that the show bends over backwards and spreads it's legs to try to force feed him as the lead character of a narrative?
  19. This episode wasn't horrifically offensive, nor even howlingly bad Maybe worse it just seemed so pointless... There was no narrative buildup to anything, even the June/Blaine/Kurt SL was disjointed and fragmented... Sam in McKinley, has that ever been an interesting independent Sam SL other than suddenly he will be Finn 2.0. The character is s supporting character, trying to make him a lead "hero" is like the alchemist trying to make other materials into gold, it's just impossible on a molecular level. This is a Season finale?
  20. Poor Kurt. He was obviously subjected to " All of Me" and was thinking " uh uh, Déjà vuh, something is coming up."
  21. Yea I doubt Ryan Murphy got an iron clad agreement complete with all the terms stacked solely on his side. The fact that Reilly basically said publicly that the episode order is subject to change speaks volume. If Glee is hemorrhaging money for FOX they will pull the plug. It's a matter of what is FOX's threshold financially. Say Glee's finale tonight stays at .8 or even dips to .7 or lower, I would say even a 13 episode order isn't a certainty. Or else they burn off the episodes in the summer.
  22. Quoting this line from Adam: "Season 5 of Glee makes Smash look like a fucking documentary."
  23. So a book coming out in July with accompanying tour, an appearance in "Hot in Cleveland" in August, and "Robo Dog" coming out next year plus one or two more movie projects lined up. Interesting to note that from another interview his "Asylum" movie is still being tossed around for production, though he said that will likely happen when he's completely off Glee. Which could be as soon as December of this year. It doesn't look like a Glee half season order harms Chris, if anything it "frees" him up for the stuff he's apparently lining up to happen quicker.
  24. In hindsight, Glee should be thankful it even gets (seems most likely) a half season order of 13 episodes. Just for a point of reference, FOX's "Dads", "Surviving Jack" and "Almost Human" got cancelled this year with higher ratings than Glee. In fact "Almost Human's" finale had a 1.5 Demo which is almost double Glee's last Demo (.80) FOX had to do something, it was embarrassing and counterproductive to give a full fall slot schedule to a show with an alarming demo in free fall that has not yet hit it's bottom. You can't justify that to your advertisers/sponsors especially when selling ad revenue. Plus there was a very quantifiable measure of how Glee had fallen; the 500-1000 percent decline in ITUNE sales the last 2 years. You can puff up all the "social media" talk you want, a .8 or .9 average Demo is not going to cut it still even with all the Networks overall ratings in decline. Overall Network TV is in big trouble, very few shows these days get over 2.0 in Demos anymore, just a handful. Add to that that critically Glee gets hosed on a regular basis and it's inept writing and poor characterization has become a joke, to be referenced on other shows. Delaying Glee until mid season is the kiss of death, 8 month delay and with a slashed budget for marketing/promo (LOL, live tweets isn't going to cut it) shows that FOX is minimizing it's losses with Glee. There is no more buzz, and with I presume a slashed budget that won't allow flights of fancy for RM he's going to lose even more interest on Glee and gravitate to his other projects. It's a sad situation, but at the same time something entirely of RIB's own doing. I chuckle when I read that Glee's decline was "inevitable". Uh..no..other shows are able to maintain their decline to a manageable level and end on a good , positive note. ("Bones" concluding it's 9th(?)year just got a 1.6 Demo) Glee spent half it's time writing snarky meta towards it's fans. What annoys me is I see rumblings from both RIB and FOX skirting around Cory's death as the reason, no doubt his was a great blow to the show, but the decisions that doomed Glee were made even before Cory died, especially extending the stupid fucking McKinley Noob/Blam school year. Something is clearly not working and you deliberately prolong it...What.The.fuck.
