  1. Yet even in Season 3 once Blaine transferred to McKinley it was apparent that Kurt didn't need "protection" anymore. Blaine's insecurities and neediness sprung up in "Dance with Somebody" and again in the Season 3 finale where he was worried about losing Kurt. Even while at McKinley winning Class President Blaine seemed more concerned that Kurt was moving away from him. I guess what I'm saying is that it's not NY perse that has disoriented Blaine, but that Kurt has grown stronger and independent. The elephant in the room is that when Blaine broke them up by cheating, Kurt adapted to a life without Blaine, dating another man (Adam) and until the rushed proposal, seemed content to continue his life as a single guy. So Blaine knows Kurt does not need him, and even back together, that feeds on Blaine's insecurities.
  2. Every actor and actress makes conclusions about their lives and careers. They make decisions regarding roles/parts. Seth Rogen has made a general conclusion about his life and career that would parallel Rachel but it's irrelevant. Actually from the spoilers it may not even be close to the same thing. Both Lea and Barbara "left": a production that was an established hit in the middle of a long run and that had recouped it's initial financial investment, plus they fulfilled their contractual obligations to their respective shows, Hell Lea left 8 months after the show had recouped its investment , being on Broadway in the role for a whopping 18 months (not including pre Broadway stints) which made her exit par for the course. In contrast, It appears that Rachel may break her contract early to exit a show that is struggling to make a profit. It's like comparing a pitcher who leaves the game after being relieved in the later innings to one who just walks off the mound in the first inning for a better gig.
  3. Well at least Ryan Murphy would be persistent in still trying to make "The New Normal" a hit post cancellation.
  4. I don't think it's going to matter. They will all be graduated or working successfully in their chosen profession, so it will be like the Lima/NY express train. Kurt if stationed in NY will fly out to LA at the drop of a hat and vice versa. Frequent Flyer miles will be racked up at an astronomical rate.
  5. Sam is half bearable and getting better away from Blaine, the 180 in scenes with Mercedes is pretty abrupt. Having said that, I wish the Samcedes was a more compelling storyline, I just don't understand why those two need to get together. It's far too much the two able bodied straight characters just have to hook up and we'll create contrived drama for them. Mercedes choosing to remain a virgin is interesting, and Sam's reaction was remarkably mature, coming from a guy who hasn't exactly been enlightened in his views of sex. Telling Teen Jesus in Season 3 he shouldn't suppress his urges around Quinn and saying last season to Ryder that some hot older woman abusing him was a lucky thing for him. The three characters used to service Artie's storyline were good, that film school had more students with more than a handful of speaking lines than a year and a half of NYADA.
  6. Fuck, we lost Santana for Blam? Who the hell voted for this? Ryan's Murphy's dick??
  7. I’m surprised people are still taking Ryan “I lie” Murphy at face value. Let’s take one of the implications of his interview, that the McKinley Noobs had to be shut down because with Cory’s death, their purpose in furthering Finn’s journey was over. So then the McKinley Narrative and Noobs were props for Finn’s SL and journey? Seriously? In this intervIew of the Hollywood Reporter: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/glee-ryan-murphy-season-four-spoilers-concert-tour-372376 before Season 4 Ryan made it abundantly clear he expected the Noobs to become stars, for THEM to anchor the McKinley narrative and extend the life of the show, and in addition, to tour (something the original cast was not willing to do anymore) to connect with the fans. "Core characters" anyone? They were considered the future of Glee and it’s very clear that Ryan was thinking beyond simply showing Finn’s (apparent) calling as a teacher. If the Noobs had taken off and become stars, is anyone doubting that the narrative would have continued despite Cory’s death and the rack of resolution of Finn’s journey? In season 4 for large chunks of screen time Finn was servicing THEIR story, (Noobs) not vice versa as this revisionist spin by Ryan is now weaving. Finn was MIA in some stories where the Noobs were being developed. You don’t lavish that much time and focus on characters who are subservient to Finn’s story. IF anything, Cory in Season 4 lost the leading character status he had previously. (I swear I will NOT for now speculate how RM might have contributed to Cory’s feelings of insecurity that COULD HAVE contributed to his drug relapse too much..maybe later) Now of course it was convenient for Finn to be the “anchor” that tied both narratives supposedly together, but the one fundamental question that Cory’s death has left hanging is the one everyone involved in the show and fandom was asking. Could the Noobs maintain a narrative by themselves once the last of the Seniors exited the building. That is the great unknown, but that is different from saying that the existence of the Noobs was primarily to construct a narrative around one character. Hell, Rachel didn’t get the cast of characters supporting her that supposedly Finn was getting for Season 4. This BS rationale pinning everything conveniently on Cory's death lets Ryan pretend that his great experiment was not a bust, to whitewash that the Noobs truly did not take off, and to convince others he really intended all along for Cory to be the “star” of the McKinley narrative. It also is a balm for those Noob lovers to rationalize that their beloved Noobs, who were publicly humiliated in the last 5 episodes of the McKinley narrative, were not “failures” in any way, shape or form to RIB or FOX. Yet the way they exited and were shoved off the show indicates otherwise. CLEARLY. So the pretense can be maintained that the Noobs and their narrative was a “success”. If someone believes that other than teenagers and tweens there is Golden Gate bridge I’m willing to sell for twenty bucks.
  8. Something sounded similar when Ryan talked in the interview about being newly energized by the move to New York and the stripped down cast. Oh that's right, he said a similar thing when the launching the recast choir room with Noobs in Season 4. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/glee-ryan-murphy-season-four-spoilers-concert-tour-372376 Love how Ryan is trying to spin it it was his plan all along to shut down McKinley and move to New York.
  9. Yea, it sounds like Rachel will find her way back to Lima, maybe she will become the new Directions director. God help us all.
  10. Ryan talks about plans for Season 6, expecting 24 episode aka a full season +2; http://tvline.com/2014/04/15/glee-season-6-spoilers-returning-cast/#more-509496 Sorry but Season Six already sounds likes a hot mess. He going to invite back EVERYONE? Including Season One people? It's going to be 24 episodes with 50 episodes of storylines crammed in. And reading between the lines, the Noobs are not coming as regulars.
  11. Dear God, Ryan's' plans for Season 6 sound like a hot mess. They are some spoilers, (sort of) http://tvline.com/2014/04/15/glee-season-6-spoilers-returning-cast/#more-509496
  12. Rachel in funny situations in HS would have been fantastic, instead of mired in Finchel drama time after time after time. Lea salvaged so much with her charisma and acting and that was brought home when they brought in an infinitely less charismatic and skilled comedian, Melissa (as Marley) to rehash the same love triangles and relationship drama. The contrast was jarring.
  13. A comedy or drama can (and has) maintained it's quality, so can a teen comedy/ drama/musical. I don't understand rationalizations that want to explain Glee's incompetency as if was a template that couldn't sustain itself. Keeping consistent with characterization could have kept it both funny and dramatic, but that required hard work. Glee didn't turn to shit because it was so difficult to sustain itself, it turned to shit because the show runners shot the goose that lay the golden egg. Now that has a lot of precedence.
  14. For a show that got 21 Emmy nominations it's first year, and 15 or 17 nominations it's second year, it's not a slam dunk it's going to implode critically and ratings wise within a few years. "Parks and Recreations" has always had crappy ratings and yet in some aspects the show is better than ever, ditto "The Good Wife". So it's not so much that Glee is a comedy or a drama, or a musical comedy drama, etc. it's that the show runners never bothered to address issues the show had, nor did they keep focus but kept on adding characters, guest stars, etc to the point that it had to have the largest cast of any scripted show on TV with plots that had no coherency to what had happened before. Glee had some good things it's first year and some memorable episodes and moments even in Seasons 2 and 3, but the show runners took the show's zeitgeist reputation to do carte Blanche with everything and everyone on the show , thinking there would be no audience fatigue. The shows mentioned above , the crucial difference is that the show runners/writers didn't seem to have such an open contempt towards their own audience. PLus they didn't sacrifice their characters for the exigency of some throwaway SL the way Glee would do. Season One had set up the characters quite vividly. Glee constantly refuted it's own canon within episodes, much more from episode to episode. Glee literally would eventually deconstruct every good SL or characterization it had done. Take Dalton, which was such a whacky tongue in cheek utopian "gay" prep school in Season 2, by it's last appearance I just wanted throw that annoying school off my screen. Then in Season 4 it tossed everything out just to repeat it with a lesser charismatic cast and elevating to leads actors/characters that should have remained supporting. Nothing of Glee's trajectory IMO was preordained but the result of some jaw dropping fuckery, hubris and incompetence of it's show runners.
  15. Well since his time is fully committed now, the window of opportunity is closing on emphatically stating how Chris won't get any offers, and won't get another shot at TV, stage, movies, etc. The panic is setting in because there is only 12 months left to milk that chestnut.
  16. It's amazing how emphatically they ruined that one. It got Season 2 "Finchel" treatment.
  17. Yea, I don't get why Glee can't seem to give Kurt any actual focus for a whole fucking episode. Like a storyline with a beginning, middle and end. I thought we were done with both in NY making Kurt suffer for being gay and being compared unfavorably to his boyfriend, but I guess Glee still has a year and a quarter to go to mine that ore. As to Rachel, if the spoilers pan out, she's a huge success as Fanny and other offers beckon. That has some potential if it's navigating being a young star but if it's just deciding whether to go for a Tony versus an Oscar I'm stumped how Glee can make that compelling. Rachel as a STAR has always been there since day one, but the journey was always accompanied by the huge insecurities and baggage that she carried with her, so to me it would make sense if Rachel discovers (at this point) achieving what you seemingly wanted isn't quite nearly enough , and No I don't mean having a man to share it with. But I don't write this shit. The one thing NY had going was the chemistry and banter between HummelberryLopez and in on fell swoop they got rid of it. It's awe inspiring how quickly they mucked things up.
  18. I think it's hilarious that the first three years of Glee Chris had literally no time off (well there was those 2-3 weeks he had to film his scripted movie) , has written (now) three books and suddenly it's proof he's not wanted by producers of film/TV or Broadway. His Glee commitment ends approximately at most one year from now, so all bets are off what opportunities are actually available for him. .
  19. OMG, why the fuck would anyone, much less glorious Mercedes, want to date mentally challenged idiot Sam. The writers make him into a drooling vain jackass. As written he's both an object of pity and of horror.
  20. God, one of the worst things of Mckinley, Blam scenes where they act like a faux couple with sophomoric dialogue has been transferred intact to New York. Just let it die.
  21. That whole "Broadway Baby" was so underwhelming, I thought it was a parody of a showtune number.
  22. Kevin Mchale, that boy does have a facility with a snarky line I tell ya. Highly underrated comic skills.
  23. The funny thing is, I agree that showrunners should be able to follow their vision, just don't bitch when other disagree with you like Ryan seems to do at the drop of a hat. And the META commentary by RIB is downright pathetic, it makes them look like whiny petty little drama bitches.... Wait......never mind.
  24. Yes, an actual spoiler! I'm going to guess they go out on the town after the Opening Night of Funny Girl. Not want to get my hopes too high they show them having fun since "Party all the Time" in "100" part 2 was literally a few seconds snipped of the characters. However there is hopefully no Paltrow at the gay bar.
  25. Consider yourself lucky, they're a piece of crap. Those novels are both stupid and dull.
