  1. Just rewatching and had a question I had the first time. Why didn't they just have whomever was bringing Nacho food poison him? Clearly, Fring set that hotel situation up. It seems like they wouldn't have wanted him caught alive so why not kill him then when they had the chance? I mean, I get the way they did it made for better drama. I'm just looking for a better explanation I hadn't thought of.
  2. I'm almost positive Cassidy was separated. I've been seeing this sort of thing a lot lately, not just here. Maybe people making comments about people having "affairs" with others who are legally separated have never gotten a divorce but if you're legally separated you are not having an affair. In my state it takes a year to get a divorce after you've been legally separated. I'd hazard to guess many if not most of especially younger people date during that time. I certainly did and it never occurred to me people would consider this an affair, even though I was still legally married. I've really been perplexed over this lately. One famous person's fan said he should just call the police on his legally separated partner and have her arrested for dating. So while Kevin is a shit in many ways, he did not have an affair with Cassidy.
  3. I'd like to know that also since both Pam and Betsy both worked for insurance companies at one point. I'm getting the impression Pam was pretty stupid in a lot of ways which makes her getting away with Betsy's murder even more amazing.
  4. And FWIW, Mandy sang that song live on set at the wedding scene recording using the mic we see. They don't usually do that. I think it added some emotion that she probably felt for the character and from the show ending.
  5. Was the song Rebecca sang the actual theme song to This is Us? It was the performance I didn't know I needed tonight. I cried at all the Pearsons and Miguel realizing this would probably be Rebecca's last best moment. And on a cynical note, way to go Big Three for NOT letting Rebecca's illness take over your life. The entire event was arranged around Rebecca. I lost my own mother to Alzheimer's a year ago so all of this feels very raw to me.
  6. It reminded me of the way they set up the plane crash throughout the season in BB. Artsy videography (or whatever they're using) as a clue to eventually finding out something horrible.
  7. I've always thought he looked and sounded like John Mulaney. I enjoyed the show tonight. Most of the sketches didn't drag on too long for me.
  8. For me, all the flashbacks and flash-forwards have made it difficult to tell what's going on unless I'm completely sober. Yet my growing frustration with the show has made me not want to watch while completely sober.
  9. I felt for the poor actor who had to try and sell that crap. I like the actor who plays Philip ok but I felt like he was struggling with that part. While certain parts of the show that depicted the break up of a marriage were well done, the unrealistic Kate/Philip "love story" took me out of it.
  10. The only thing I can see that it adds is the New Big Three is still comprised of a set of twins and an adopted kid just like the original Big Three. They didn't make a big deal out of it being that way though. Yet.
  11. Like others, I cannot buy Phillip's out of the blue transition from jerk to softie. And what is there for him in Kate?? They spend time telling us how great she is but not showing us. So contrived. I rank this disappointing episode as second only to the horrible Randal swimming naked with his ghost mom as worst of the series.
  12. Louis had a lot of extended, elaborate cooking for his kids scenes in Louie. I'm guessing that's where she got that, especially if she likes doing in IRL.
  13. I'm certainly no judge of singing talent but didn't Chrissy Metz sing one of the nominated songs at the Oscars two or three years ago? They must've thought she was talented enough for that honor.
  14. So far we haven't seen Kate or Miguel in the flash forwards of Rebecca on her deathbed. Since Rebecca has made Kate the POA (basically) in the event Miguel dies I think we can credibly speculate two things. 1) Kate will still be alive at the end. 2) Miguel will not be :(
  15. Boy Mandy Moore sure poured all of her new mom emotion into that scene where she found little Jack in the park. She just grabbed him up and wrapped herself around him like he was hers. It was intense and believable.
  16. I find these types of scenes exasperating. I hate 14 year old boy, affected Sam. In fact a lot of these scenes this episode were exasperating to me. I get the slice of life, cool party vibes but do we really need to put up with the other stuff for this? And do we really need to put up with how horrible the girls are to Sam to imagine that is the only way that yields creative adults. Because they're sort of trying to shove that narrative down our throats.
  17. I loved this episode. Randal is my favorite and I thought it was sweet with him and his mom, and the flashbacks. I cried. A lot of it hit close to home for me. Also, how could it be a bad episode with one of my favorite Cat Stevens songs of my youth at the end?
  18. And SO much wasted food on TV! Nobody ever finishes their meals. Oh, and never shutting the door when they go in a house.
  19. He said when he first started trying to play it that it was the guitar Bradley Cooper used on "A Star is Born" so it's probably worth a lot of money regardless of the quality. But it would be surprising if it wasn't supposed to be decent quality given where it came from.
  20. I realize this is TV and we should not take things too literally but the actress who plays Phil is only 69 and not that close to 83 like they said. She's only 14 years older than Pamela IRL. I get that she does look older than 69 though.
  21. Sorry. I must not be keeping up. She was with Taylour Paige last year. I guess she moved on.
  22. Zoe was married to a guy briefly but now she's with a girl.
  23. Regarding sugar and the only on holidays, etc., argument. My mother, who was never overweight had an unbelievable sugar tooth. It made up a lot of she ate. So consequently I, who am also not overweight ate a lot of sugar and unhealthy carbs very early on. I'm now in my 60s and if I eat sugar, I just want more sugar. It's been a lifelong battle. I don't care if it's set up as a "special treat" for a holiday and I'm not planning to eat it the next day, I always do. I find it incredibly hard to not crave sugar for a long time after if I eat any at all. FWIW my 23andme showed I was not even genetically predisposed to like sugar. Yes, you can control what a toddler eats the day after this "special treat" once or twice a year but you can't control what they *want* to eat the next day. Soon they will have more choice and that choice might be too much sugar. Sugar cravings are complex. Early experiences do influence later sugar cravings in many people.
  24. Why is Phil packing everything up? Is she moving? Did I miss it?
  25. Most pro photographers and videographers would know about B&H even outside of NY I would think.
