  1. As a happy single woman with no kids from the south, with a mother whose goal in life was to marry me off, and friends who were obsessed with their perfect weddings, I totally related to this show. I love Mayim Bialek. The premier episode was a bit clunky, trying to introduce too many characters and situations in such a short time. Hopefully the show will settle in and find its focus. I loved the scene with Mayim and her plus one dancing to the Git Up. And I loved the bar owner, I think his name was Carter? In the short time that we saw him, he had some good lines and he has a bit of It Factor that makes me hope we see more of him. Don't care for the Mom character, but I don't think we are supposed to like her. Maybe Kat and the Mom will stop speaking to each other, and we won't have to see the Mom as much? All in all, I liked it enough to keep watching.
  2. Can anyone explain why Charlotte and Kitty are so enamored with Victoria? I know Kelli is best friends with her mother, but I can't figure out an explanation for the others to be so over the top with VK.
  3. I do, I do! I don't remember the little girl's name. But when she got her Happy Meal in the car her Mom told her to say grace before she ate. And the little girl said "Thank grace, thank God, God almighty food! Amen." I remember because we have been saying that grace at my house ever since. ETA: Just ran it back on TiVo. The adorable little girl's name is Janeyah. I, too, HATE the new format. I can't keep the kids & parents straight, either. The team business is just idiotic. This is not a sport.
  4. Fun episode! Siggy and Dolores are perfect additions to the cast--love them. Great seeing the ladies bonding, talking and being goofy. Now I want to go to a spa. And eat chocolate.
  5. SO glad my TV crack is back!!! I like the new girls. I've always been fascinated by Delores, why I don't know, but I am glad she is now a full cast member. Siggy is likeable so far, too. Much better newbies this time around. Love that Melissa and Joe are getting along with Papa Gorga, and love that Teresa and Melissa will finally bond this season. Love that there are no Manzos. I didn't realize what a drag they were on the show until they were gone. Kathy can go any time, too. Only bad moments were seeing her judgemental self-righteous self again. Thrilled to pieces to see the Giudice girls, and Juicy Joe, and Teresa. I know Joe and Teresa did horrible things, I know they still owe people, I know they have anew Lexus and still live in the mausoleum when they cannot afford it. That is not my problem. Since the world has been such a shitshow this week, I am happy to have something frivolous to watch. Welcome back, RHONJ! I've missed you so!
  6. Watching the overnight coverage of the horrible shootings in Dallas, and the most excellent commentary has been on Fox News. The anchor and commenters have been Shepard Smith, Kelly Wright, Rod Wheeler, and Ted Williams. Why aren't these guys the Fox News primetime lineup? Ever since 9/11, I look for Shepard Smith when major, traumatic news happens. He was amazing during Hurricane Katrina. They did a good job making him the leader of the Breaking News division.
  7. Wow. Leah's sister is a horrible individual. She has no business calling Miranda a "lazy bitch" when Miranda does everything for the twins. That made me so angry on MIranda's behalf. Leah's family has no business stirring trouble between Leah, Corey and MIranda. Leah is clearly a drug addicted skank, and she is lucky that Corey doesn't try to get her parental rights terminated after all her neglect and endangerment of the girls. It is normal for older siblings to feel out of sorts about a new baby getting more attention--they are blowing that way out of proportion. That whole Messer clan seems so unbelievably trashy. I feel so bad for Corey and Miranda for having to deal with any of them at all.
  8. I was stlouischili on the boards back in the day. Season 2 was the best AI season, to me, none of the other seasons ever came close to that cast. Rickey was one of my favorites that season, too. So sad to hear about this.
  9. I wish this show had a pop-up video type thing showing the price of everything new that we saw tonight. Roses $ Cha-Ching ! Memorial Tree $ Cha-Ching ! Dress for 8th grade dance $ Cha-Ching ! Ten cakes from Costco $ Cha-Ching ! Necklace $ Cha-Ching! Stylist and Make up Artist for 8th grade dance $ Cha Ching ! New Upholstery for Dining Room Chairs $ Cha-Ching ! Food for parties $ Cha-Ching! They should do that for all the Guidice scenes on the regular RHONJ show too. I was almost sick mentally tallying up that tab, just for what we saw tonight. These people are insane to show more ostentatious spending on national TV, with their legal and financial situation. At first I thought NoNo was buried in the backyard, but now I think they just have a memorial set-up back there. Am I going to hell for: 1. wondering if they put it on his, uh, final resting spot and 2. thinking that feature should certainly help sell Chateau Juicy (sarcasm).
  10. The Project Runway show is on the New York Fashion Week schedule for first thing this Friday morning. (Friday, September 11, 9:45 am @ the Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station). Does anyone know when solid spoilers from this usually start to come out? Is anyone going?
  11. I think the girls could have had a gorgeous Boho look even with the Easter Egg fabric had they used a dark color to paint dotted Boho-type flowers or some other Boho design over the Easter Egg fabric and introduced the orange supplemental fabric instead of the purple. Their beginning Easter Egg Explosion works when Tim visited were vastly better than the Purplepalooza that they sent down the runway. I don't remember when I have seen a group collectively lose their brainpower at the same time like that. SMH
  12. How is Jeremy's family famous in American history? I am a history nut, and now I am curious.
  13. Nice cast! I can never tell anything about anyone's talent and potential before the season starts. But I like the personalities. They seem like an interesting group with lots of personality, and in a good way. Can't wait for Thursday!
  14. I just made toast. The first two pieces were fine. The next two pieces came out black on both sides, then the toaster began smoking. I unplugged it and the sides of the toaster were HOT. It was apparently shorting out inside or catching on fire in there. I am 46 years old and I have been making toast for a long time, and I was freaked out because that has never happened to me before. I remembered reading here earlier about the preview and Grace (Aliyah?) making toast without supervision at 5 years old. I must admit, when I first read about it, I didn't think that much about it. But after my bed time toast making tonight, OMG! Come to think of it, I have had a blow dryer short out and shoot sparks before. Leah really needs to stop letting the kids use electronic things without supervision. That is so dangerous. She is really just as nonchalant about the kids' safety as Adam is, and I believe he has supervised visitation. She is alone with the girls for days. No wonder Corey seems so worried. And if that is on camera, what goes on when the cameras are off? In addition, I rarely make toast. Reading so much about toast and toasters re: this week's previews caused me to be in the mood for toast. Weird coincidence that my toaster blew out when everyone has been talking about the dangers of letting a 5-year-old make her own toast. *Twilight zone music* Doo--doo--doo-dooo......
