  1. Well, my allergies blew up again. No matter that Oscar wasn't a very well realized character and maybe the actor wasn't that great (I thought he was okay--a typical teenage boy), it's still sad to lose someone that young. Everyone's reactions were moving, and Drew and Joss were especially good. I just wish Drew had more to do; he's such a good guy and so comforting to Monica. Now, do they send him back to his closet and we'll only see him occasionally? For a cute kid, Cameron is an ugly crier. I appreciate that, and the fact that a teenage boy wouldn't want to show his emotions in front of people--not cool, you know. One thing I wondered about: why wasn't Oscar covered up when they took him away? Wouldn't he either be in a body bag, or covered completely? Nit picky, I know.
  2. I thought today's show was well done. It took me a minute to figure out Oscar was dreaming (or something), but all those family members together and references to Quartermaines who have passed were very moving. Although Oscar never really caught on with a lot of viewers, it's still sad when a young person dies, so I did get a little teary at the end.
  3. Where the heck did Arya come from? “I just flew in from the battle and boy, are my arms tired!” I had forgotten about The Hound’s fear of fire. Aww, Dany’s dragon sheltering her and dead Jorah. I thought for a minute when Sansa pulled her knife that she was going to kill herself since it seemed that all was lost. The bridges of the dead over the fires was so creepy. I’m glad Jaime lived, mainly because I’m shallow and have always enjoyed looking at him. So glad everyone else had a problem with the darkness; I was thinking that maybe it was time for that cataract surgery the doctor has warned is in my future. And on a related “I’m so old” note—Googling the actors in this episode, I see that I’m older than everyone there, even Tormund’s portrayer, who was born after I was out of college and onto my second job. Dang...
  4. Still worn out from the whole thing, but did anyone else find it hard to see? Pretty murky, I thought, but maybe it's just my old eyes. I had a feeling if the head dead guy was killed, it would be all over, but I guess they needed that special knife to do the deed. Sure took 'em long enough! Gotta go lie down now...
  5. I'm exhausted. That's all I've got for now, except...you go, Arya!
  6. I noticed that, too...it wasn't supposed to be funny, but it was the highlight of the day
  7. Is Port Charles so small that there's only one 3rd Grade (or whatever grade she's in) class that Charlotte can be in? If not, can't she just be moved to a class with a different teacher?
  8. I used to teach teenagers and Oscar seems pretty typical to me. Maybe he should be a little more upset about dying, but he's young and at that age you think you're invincible. Maybe it just hasn't all sunk in. Liked all scenes with Drew, but when he was talking to Curtis, did they ever refer to the fact that Jordan is sick because of him? Also liked that one little moment when Drew reached over and squeezed Joss's arm before going to listen to the doctor. He just seems like such a good guy--wish he had a real story.
  9. I enjoyed today's show with all the old timers. Not sure how this scavenger hunt was allowed in a busy hospital, but oh well. Monica and Leslie, Bobbie and Elizabeth, Scott and Laura, Lucy and Kevin--so many good pairings. Wish I had seen the nurse's ball when Alan sang from Cinderella because that's where I saw him first, as the prince in the TV musical. My mother bought that album and we listened to it over and over. Why was Julian there? I guess I missed that part, but he seemed out of place. My biggest take-away was....dang, Mac is the best looking man on the show even though he's older than many of the others! He just gets better as the years go by.
  10. Former teacher here...teachers where I worked had keys to their rooms and the building so they could get in if they needed to work in their rooms over the weekend or after hours. Not sure how Nina and Valentin got in unless Willow left the outside door unlocked when she entered.
  11. I usually read or something during Sonny or Jason scenes, so when Jason said this, it sort of went by me. I wasn't sure I heard right, but I guess I did. Ugh. Why don't those two just go ahead and do it? The Turkey scenes are so dumb I probably didn't miss much there. The pickpocket was kind of cute, but his accent was weird. Was he supposed to be Turkish? Joss's "aren't you too old" was pretty funny and what some people had been saying...but I know women have kids in their 40s. I remember being a senior in high school when a friend's mother was pregnant, and it was just sort of ewww, those are parents, they're old!
  12. I'm a little older than the actress playing Alexis and I don't object to her having a sex life. It's the way she dithers that makes her seem so flighty and immature. Maybe I'm just a bitter old maid...
  13. I wish the Kevin/Ryan story hadn't been so chopped up today, but we had to keep switching to the comedy in "Turkey" which at least gave some laughs before getting back to Canada. And of course, Alexis and her fantasies also got thrown in there. I was once a fan of hers, but watching a woman in her 60s act like some love-crazed teenager is not entertaining to me. I can't really tell where Carly landed, so there's no place she can go around that big slab of concrete? And Jason shooting first just brings home the fact that he (one of the show's "heroes") is a thug. The rest, however, with Ava and Laura and Ryan was pretty good. I didn't see the over-the-bridge leap coming--yikes!
  14. Ooh, pretty good cliffhanger. I thought it would be Ava catching him, but it's Carly. So, will Ryan kill her (probably not), or cause her to lose the baby? Glad this story is finally coming to an end, even though it's been the best of the storylines they have going right now.
  15. I was a little late turning the show on today (but only maybe 5 minutes), and maybe I missed part of Friday, so please someone explain how we got from Jason and Drew blacking out to them both being in the hospital today (and Jordan, too). Did we see them brought to the hospital? How did their friends know to be there since everyone seemed to have someone at their bedsides already? Did Jason and Drew have surgery to fix their blindness (or did they just get headaches and no blindness?). I'm so confused.
  16. I've never been much of a baby person, but Wiley grinning was awfully cute...this show does manage to hire some adorable babies
  17. I noticed that, too, but thought she was just seeing it from her perspective, like a mirror image. Maybe they'll come back to that. As an aside, that actress has been in many local theater productions and commercials in Little Rock. I've seen her in a couple of plays and she's always good.
  18. Only funny moment: Haley says she can remember to take a daily pill (the prenatal thing) and Clair said, "Can you?" Pam is gross and totally unlikable. Why didn't they have her leave town like I was hoping they would? Now we're going to be subjected to her until the show is done, I guess. Ugh.
  19. What is it with ABC being the only network breaking in with "breaking news"? At least I got to see more of DOOL which has some old GHers on it... Did I miss much during the first half hour?
  20. I like Curtis and Drew's friendship, they're finally in a scene together, and then it got interrupted...great, like we couldn't have watched the news at 5:00 to see that. And I checked the other stations--only ABC broke in, so I watched DOOL for awhile (didn't know Jack was back!). It was nice to see the tribute to Gayle; wonder what's in her will?
  21. Some of those people--Elizabeth, Felicia and Mac--must have portraits in their attics...they've aged, but really well! The others...not so much.
  22. If you've ever seen "Away From Her" with Julie Christie, this was part of the plot. She didn't remember her husband, she met new people in the memory center, and formed new friendships. It happens and you can't really force someone to remember someone they've forgotten, like you said. On a personal note, when my father was in a nursing home, someone mentioned his "girlfriend" and my mother just shrugged it off because she knew it didn't mean he was dumping her. The residents just got attached to each other because those were the people who they saw every day and connected with.
  23. WTH was that? Justifying Sonny's life because...? What a waste of time (fortunately I was also working on something else so it basically just flowed over me). Ugh.
  24. That’s what I thought, too. Why else show the head pat and the kid looking at the guy if it didn’t mean something?
  25. So tired of the Morgan slobbering. I turned over to DOOL during those scenes and found myself getting interested again (after 20+ of not watching it). Probably not what the memorial scenes were intended to do...
