  1. I liked the fruit mobile. But hey! If it's a girl, there is no X-Y, there is only XX. Two scientist would know that, even if they're more physicists than biologists. I liked seeing the two expectant parents work together and seem to get along, though. I'm totally bored with petty bickering. That was also a pretty good use of Grover, having him put the changing table together. I hate gender reveal parties, though. And foisting pink onto girls. Yuck.
  2. They seem to have de-coupled the @midnight and Late Show schedules. Last week, Clbert was off while @midnight was on, and this week it's the reverse.
  3. Did you hear about the terrible storm they had in Boston?
  4. For women, being comfortable is a sign of depression. And being messy? Cardinal sin.
  5. I think there is a lot of anger at the utilities in CA because of the way their lines sparked forest fires due to negligence. So, I'm fine with them portraying the company as incompetent, apathetic, and full of shit. Likewise, locally (rural parts of Massachusetts) they were so bad at maintaining the lines that we had massive prolonged outages here routinely (a week at a time) as well as constant short ones (a day long, with no weather events at all) to the extent that finally the state threatened them with giant fines and voila! Now we still have the outages but they fix them faster. I sat and watched out my window one time, when a dozen workers were standing around with two trucks for several hours doing nothing, until finally a supervisor showed up and suddenly they "pushed the button" and our neighborhood got its power restored. Some places might be better than others, but I don't think the companies are an unfair target for how this episode portrayed them, even if the details were absurd.
  6. And then Elsbeth can flip on her boss, and join the NYPD so the show can continue!
  7. I think the bad guy needed to kill all the witnesses who saw his face and could potentially testify against him. Maybe he heard the heavy breathing underneath the floorboards? Though how they got under there when they didn't have time to exit the cabin, I don't know. You'd think it would take more time to hide than to flee. I think Colter said something about wanting Reenie to hide until the cops come, so maybe he called them in one of the split seconds when he was off-screen? Thanks!
  8. I laugh because the show HAD TO give HARRY (of all people) the national security story this week, while everyone else was busy helping everyday civilians. Otherwise, not bad.
  9. When Colter was running through the woods, I kept thinking about the camera person doing it backwards and in heels... I mean backwards and carrying camera equipment. They probably don't do it that way, but the thought amused me. I thought it was weird that there was a fire at the abandoned campsite. Why would they set up a tent and light a fire if they were on the run and not actually camping out? I must have missed something, because this show is sometimes absurd, but not THAT absurd. Oh, and the obligatory beefcake scene with Colter emerging from the shower and Reenie filming him... Justin H is not my type, but I see that the show is fully committed to using him in that way for those for whom he is. I guess turnabout is fair play after eons of women being used that way, but honestly, the games between him and Reenie make me like both of them less. Also, if I thought I was alone, I would not come out of the shower with a towel wrapped conveniently around nothing but my not-safe-for-broadcast-tv bits covered. But, I guess they thought that was more enticing than a waist up camera angle. Oh, and where is Bobby? Totally missing last week. Mentioned but not shown this week. I hope the actor is okay. I thought it was strange that Madison was just lying in the dirt instead of trying to walk out of there, since her problem was just her arm and she seemed perfectly capable of walking once Colter showed up. Also, how convenient that, after evidently being there a while, she suddenly started screaming when Colter was in earshot. Did the idiot brother really plan to steal the money? I didn't understand how he got away from his kidnappers in the first place. Did they explain that? I genuinely might have been distracted, so I don't blame the show until someone else comes along and says no, none of it made sense. I still like Velma and Teddi best. I don't know which is which, though. And them sending Reenie to his trailer instead of calling him about the job? Not cool. Everyone seems to think that it's cute and funny to trash Colter's boundaries. I think this show is a bad influence. I realize they are playing it like it's a flirty game, but it grosses me out. I'm not a gamer, I guess. I genuinely do not understand how a fisher's skill determines the size of the fish that takes the bait, but I am sure that people who actually go fishing know what kind of skill is involved. Gorgeous scenery. This show could do nothing but no-plot/no-character scenery and it would be a good watch. Sometimes I forget that we're supposed to be more interested in what the humans are doing. Oh, and is it usual to leave your parachute in a pile in the woods? That's not littering? And aren't they expensive? Are they single use/disposables? I'm just curious. I know Colter was in a hurry and traveling light, but that struck me as at least a technical violation that would get a person fined, if caught.
  10. If Pete and Sam go to DealMart at night, Sam can wait in the car while Pete does his thing indoors.
  11. Have Isaac and Nigel had sex yet? There was a whole thing about Isaac being nervous about kissing, and since then I don't think we've had any references to intimacy of any kind.
  12. I can't imagine Pete would miss the Nigel-Isaac wedding, so surely he'll be back by the time that happens.
  13. I often only get three out of 4 of the connection groups, but that's all you need, as the remaining 4 are obviously the last group. When the answer is revealed, it always makes sense, though. If they didn't explain it in the end, I would probably still not understand some of them.
  14. I think everyone was in a hurry to make SOMEONE the legal guardian, and Cara asked Bode to promise her he'd take care of Gen, so everyone was just kind of rolling along that road. Jake was stunned with grief and not sure what to do, whether he had a right to interfere, etc. Bode was doing his usual thing of hero/rescue. And Sharon and Vince got in over their heads, thinking they were doing the right thing and supporting everybody-- giving Jake time to grieve, taking care of family, following Cara's wishes, etc. People were grief-addled and confused. I actually thought it was a pretty reasonable portrayal of one of the more normal types of post-tragedy confusion, and not even heightened all that much. I mean, people TALKED to each other! They TRIED to be supportive. They worked it out! It didn't even take ten trillion episodes to get there! And they are still all friends. I think Sharon and Vince told Bode last episode that he isn't the biological father, and he said he wanted to be that for her anyway, that he promised Cara and ever since he found out about Gen he's thought of himself as her father and doesn't care that it's not genetic.
  15. I also had no idea. I looked it up. There were actually quite a few sites talking about it, but fwiw, this one is the first that came up in my search on duckduckgo: https://www.democracyentrepreneurs.org/ This game is hard on people who stammer or are otherwise slow talkers.
  16. On TV, police solve cases, when in reality most go unsolved. Also, waaaaay less police brutality and murders at traffic stops happen on TV. Clearance rates: https://www.statista.com/statistics/194213/crime-clearance-rate-by-type-in-the-us/
  17. Maybe it's one of the places where there was a mass shooting.
  18. I'm always down for people being mad at the electric companies. I really like that they are focusing on the "inmate firefighter" issue more again. I also like that they stopped assassinating Eve's character and building Manny up at her expense. It balanced out with the reminder of Manny's imperfection and Eve's abilities in this episode. I forgot that Luke was the Chief now. I wound up being okay with how things went with Gen. It's true that Bode is always glomming onto someone else to build himself up. I think he hasn't fully dealt with being blamed for his sister's death. And Cara only really "chose Bode" because she thought he was Gen's biodad. So having the kid go with Jake actually is the chosen family story after all. No comment on Vince's trembling hand. It looked like a really bad burn he had, so having it heal overnight seemed a lot like Sharon's miraculous lack of kidney disease even when she needed a transplant desperately, and her total lack of issues after receiving one. The protesters, media, and generally fucked up nature of that entire situation was one of the more realistic things this show has done. Convenient that a crisis happened right then, to flip the script. I predict the locals now want to get 3 Rock re-opened, and will change the minds of TPTB. What was Gabriella doing in the house while Jake and Gen were playing jenga? Why was Gab there instead of with her fiance?
  19. I wonder if the unbleeped version appears online and it's just the broadcast-on-CBS version that's bleeped?
  20. That is an interesting question! It could be just that the whole property is not well-maintained and lots of things are falling apart... or it could be Chekov's Fence. I'm still waiting for the water heater noise to lead to some kind of revelation. It's been mentioned in multiple episodes. But it might also just be an old water heater that's noisy.
  21. I wondered whether it was a clear indication that the Captain is in on the corruption, or if the guy was just saying that to make it LOOK like the Captain was in on it. This show is based on showing us the crime up front and not being a mystery. The interest is supposed to be in showing how Elsbeth figures out what we already know. But it's unclear to me whether they will follow through on that in all aspects. I like Elsbeth's attitude to be on the side of the truth. I do like that theya re moving the story along andnot dragging it out so ,uch that it feels totally stagnant.
  22. That scene with Kaya and Elsbeth gave me chills. But I liked it. Female friendship FTW. I liked the murderer's wife, but I didn't understand why she was with such a cold, controlling partner. It made me sad.
  23. Oh damn. I felt bad for Jupiter when he turned out to be innocent and actually a really nice guy. I have really mixed feelings about how the show is treating the blindness. It's basically saying that independence is stupid and that Tess should not bother to learn how to do anything without Sunny. It's kind of like they're trying to have the blindness as a hook but write her as a sighted person. I thought it was a bit creepy that SUnny bought Tess the same jumper she herself was wearing.
  24. I really liked these episodes. The show is better with ghosts actively participating! I have been losing interest but this finale made me really hope for a renewal, even though it seems they set it up to also work as a series ending. I would not have guessed that Duncan would be the first to find out about nell's secret and I also would not have guessed that he'd be nicer as a ghost than as a living person. His desire to help nell get a job came out of newhere.
