  1. Maybe I'm not creative enough, but looking at the three pictures that each group ended up with, I wouldn't have been able to immediately discern what the "story" was supposed to be. The elimination wasn't all that surprising -- I figured it would end with the three teams tied with two girls left each, rather than leaving Lydia with only one person and Anne still with three. I think I've already said this in another thread, but Naomi really makes this show almost unwatchable for me. I like Anne and Lydia, Nigel, pretty much all of the girls that are left, but I cannot stand Naomi. I'm almost at the point where I can't watch anymore because of her -- I might give up and just wait to hear who wins at the end.
  2. I liked Woo until this episode... all of his ninja stuff was just too over-the-top for me. Sarah bragged about being in the middle/being the swing vote and look where it got her. I'm not sure why Kass would be thrilled to be in the same position. The "no-one-is-on-the-bottom-we're-all-equal-links-in-a-chain" theory put forth by Jefra (spelling?) was patently ridiculous. If, on the slim chance, it's actually true, all it tells me is that no one in that "chain" is thinking ahead in the game. I guess I'm still rooting for Spencer. Unless the tide turns and he's in the majority again and L.J.'s in the minority -- then I'll root for L.J. [shallow/] You could really see L.J.'s receding hairline in one shot -- no wonder he's always wearing a cap. [/End Shallow]
  3. Some more information from Bravo's website: And, another new Bravo show, Best New Restaurant, featuring Tom Colicchio:
  4. Or go on The Amazing Race and can't drive a stick-shift car or are afraid of flying (I still shake my head over that one). I was listening to Entertainment Weekly radio this morning on my way to work and they said that Bravo announced 15 new shows recently, including: Top Chef Duels – The 18 most memorable contestants from previous Top Chef seasons return to the kitchen to compete with each other one-on-one as celebrity chef Curtis Stone hosts.
  5. What surprised me was that Aviva was given a chance on WWHL to explain/take back/apologize for her "Heather and Carole verbally raped me" comment and she chose to do none of those things. Instead, she just said, "Puh-leeaze." Sonja and her teeth. There are no words... I find it hysterical that Bravo continues to identify Amanda as an "Image Consultant" on screen when apparently she's a stylist. (If she really is an image consultant, she's like the worst one ever.) Aviva was doing her best to distance herself from Amanda last night on WWHL without actually insulting her (figuring she probably doesn't need that woman as an enemy).
  6. Hi everyone! I was Picky Eater on TWOP. I mostly lurked there, but I'm committed to posting more this time around!
  7. Derek and NeNe's dance looked familiar. Then I read EW's recap of last night's episode on their site this morning and they hit the nail on the head: it was like a reenactment of the African Anteater Ritual dance from Can't Buy Me Love.
  8. I didn't even realize this was on until I saw it on the DVR this morning. Did they show a preview for this at the end of the 3rd installment of the reunion? I remember even thinking after the reunion, "Oh, I guess they're not doing one of those 'previously unseen footage' episodes this season." I generally like Joyce, but all the "pee pee" talk sounded ridiculous. You need to stop and evaluate your life when you're seriously contemplating lip plumping/injections and you go to Taylor for advice. Aging gracefully is not necessarily a bad thing Kim! Somehow I doubt that David's referring to the HWs as clowns was just repeating Yolanda's playful, self-deprecating joke. I think he probably does think they're all annoying/crazy. I liked the fact that Ken's "new" wedding ring incorporated his original ring. It seemed like the original ring was very sentimental to him. :-)
  9. I will miss Lydia. Her mom seemed nice enough too, although I thought the pot smoking was really weird. I hope we're done with Lauri -- she irked me more than anyone else last season.
  10. This exchange from The Adhesive Duck Deficiency will never not make me laugh: Sheldon Cooper: We have to fill these out. "Describe illness or injury." Penny: I dislocated my shoulder. Sheldon Cooper: All right. And how did the accident occur? Penny: You already know that. Sheldon Cooper: Cause of accident: Lack of adhesive ducks. Okay, medical history. Have you ever been diagnosed with diabetes? Penny: No. Sheldon Cooper: Kidney disease? Penny: No. Sheldon Cooper: Migraines? Penny: Getting one. Sheldon Cooper: Are you currently pregnant? Penny: No! Sheldon Cooper: Are you sure? You look a bit puffy. Penny: Change migraine to "yes." Sheldon Cooper: When was your last menstrual period? Penny: [in a disgusted tone] Oh, next question. Sheldon Cooper: I'll put "in progress." Okay, turning to psychiatric disorders, list all major behavioral diagnoses, e.g. depression, anxiety etc. Penny: Oh my God! What the hell does this have to do with my stupid shoulder? Sheldon Cooper: Episodes of sub-psychotic rage. Penny: Ass! Sheldon Cooper: Possible Tourette's. All right, "moles, lesions, or other skin conditions." Soup tattoo on right buttock.
  11. Me too! Random thoughts about the episode off the top of my head: 1. Todd is earning his place in Heaven with how nice he was to Mama Joyce. I wonder if she's even worse when the cameras aren't rolling? (Or, maybe she's not as bad and she's just amping up the drama for the show.) Kandi's voice sounded incredible during that rehearsal. 2. NeNe is pretty delusional if she thinks that acting classes are unnecessary and that there's no need to read scripts. I cry "foul" that she's left "millions" on the table with offers she's turned down (unless they were offers to do porn or something...). 3. Fool Cynthia once, shame on you, Peter. Fool her twice, and shame on Cynthia. Who knows how many times she's had to learn about things or decisions that Peter has made in some way other than directly from him. She probably had quite a little nest egg from her years of modeling before she got involved with him. 4. Kenya -- Not much to say other than poor Velvet. :-( I thought her Aunt did a good job being sympathetic, while at the same time not fanning the flames of Kendra's hysterical sobbing. 5. Phaedra -- The pottery scene seemed like such a setup. Not much else to say. It seems very odd to go from being a lawyer into the mortuary business, but good luck to her, if that's what she's interested in.
  12. Happy to hear the news of their wedding. Todd seems like a good guy. I wonder if Bravo filmed any of it (are they currently filming for next season?).
  13. Season 7 contains a lot of my favorite episodes and probably my least favorite. Favorite: Legacy (S7, E10) -- Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the shooting of James Shepherd, who had just returned home from an outing with his wife Robin and 8 year-old daughter. Forensics reports that the same weapon was used in a hit some two years before by a professional hit-man. A fixer points the finger at Robin Shepherd's former mother-in-law, Estelle Muller, whose son Rick was married to Robin until he died some 5 years ago in a rock climbing accident. Jim Shepherd was with him when Rick died and and Estelle is convinced he was responsible for her son's death. She offers to plead guilty if Shepherd is investigated for murdering her son. A new autopsy on Rick Muller shows he was hit on the head with a baseball bat before he fell. The DA decides to proceed against Jim Shepherd. My favorite scene in the episode is at the very end: ADA Jamie Ross: "Almost a record! They convicted him in an hour and a half." DA Adam Schiff: "How's the wife doing?" Jack McCoy: "Shaky, but she served him with divorce papers on his way out of the court room." DA Adam Schiff: "Gotta be tough finding out you married your stalker." <--- maybe my favorite L&O line ever Least Favorite -- The 3-episode D-Girl/Turnaround/Show Time (S7, E15-17) - Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate when the partial remains of a woman are found in the river. The autopsy reveals the woman was cut up with a large knife. She had cosmetic surgery and they manage to identify her as Heidi Ellison, the president of a Mattawin Studios in Hollywood. They focus on her personal trainer, Evan Grant, but he goes off to Los Angeles before they can get a blood test from him. The detectives follow him there but have trouble getting the blood sample when the court order ADA McCoy obtained is quashed. They find a way around that and Grant is returned to New York. He may have a reasonable alibi however. They then focus on Ellison's ex-husband, director Eddie Newman. Curtis meanwhile ends up on a date with an attractive studio executive, Lisa Lundquist. The murder weapon - a hundred year old knife - is found and turned into the police. The knife was found near a small airport where Ellison's ex-husband,Eddie Newman, took a private plane to Los Angeles on the night she was killed. After the police find her blood in his car, they issue an arrest warrant for Newman and Briscoe and Curtis head back to LA. They arrest him but Newman's lawyers - who include Jamie Ross' ex-husband - contest his extradition forcing McCoy and Ross to fly to LA to argue their case. Meanwhile, Curtis gets a job offer from studio executive Lisa Lundquist - and the offer of a relationship. The trial of Hollywood director Eddie Newman begins amid a media circus and aggressive defense lawyers. It all becomes too personal when Jamie Ross' ex-husband Neil Gorton, one of Newman's lawyers, applies for sole custody of their daughter. When McCoy questions Jamie's work ethic and priorities, she quits. Ray Curtis turns down Lisa Lundquist's offer of a job and a relationship, but she offers to testify on the animosity Newman had towards his ex-wife. The case isn't going well for the prosecution, particularly when the defense comes up with what seems to be an alternative suspect. TNT must love D-Girl/Turnaround/Show Time because it seems like they air those three episodes a lot. Including again this morning. I'm kind of neutral on Lauren Graham generally, but she really annoys me in these episodes. I'm not sure why.
  14. I decided to start a thread to discuss specific episodes -- favorites and least favorites.
  15. Our DVR cut off part of the beginning and the very very end.....sigh. I didn't think this was the greatest episode, but some things I liked (off the top of my head): Ron's "10 Point Scale" for how insane Leslie is being; the return of Greg Pikitis (nice throwback!); and Andy being excited that one of the kids at the prom had a fake ID so that they could get free beer (although I couldn't decide whether he thought that a fake ID meant you got the beer for free, or whether it was just if the kid could get beer he and April wouldn't have to pay for it).
  16. I don't really see this. He's awkward around women, for sure, but sexist pig, etc. sounds like Howard's pre-Bernadette days. Totally agree -- it was so awesome. Next week's episode -- based on the promo shown at the end of last night's episode -- looks pretty good. I wonder what makes Sheldon agree to a makeover....?
  17. When does Season 21 start airing? The answer might be in the Season 21 Spoilers thread, but I like to watch spoiler-free.
  18. From The Justice League Recombination: Zack: "You know, I saw this great thing on the Discovery Channel. Turns out if you kill a starfish it'll just come back to life." Sheldon: "Was the starfish wearing boxer shorts? Because you might have been watching Nickelodeon."
  19. I immediately thought of "Noises Off" -- I was just waiting for someone to walk in with a plate of sardines!
  20. Maybe that's why Jenny was so adamant about never wanting to get married. Maybe it's wishful thinking (re: Jill) on her part.
