  1. Again Meghan's taking notes as soon as she sits down. Yet somehow, it doesn't seem to make her any more articulate. Meghan!!!!!!! Having the Constitution on your nightstand does no good unless you read it! She's even worse today than yesterday. After she's had a chance to say something she thinks nothing of trying to interrupt Sunny multiple times. But then when she starts to say something and Sunny interjects, it's. "LET ME SPEAK." Once again, no crime is required for impeachment! Meghan's decided she is the moderator after all, and tells the producers, "We have to go to commercial, really. We have to go to commercial." Meghan finally found a poll she didn't like. Oh my gosh, the look of genuine disgust on Meghan's face when Ana said that at least Abby knew whatever was on the floor wasn't a used condom. Her expression was as funny as Ana's joke was. And then, while the other four are having a good laugh, she acts it's sooo beneath her, and she crossed her arms, too. Then the next topic was porn! It was all so hilarious. Meghan was so determined not to crack a smile. What did Meghan say right before Joy said, "Do you mind if I do my joke, missy"? It sounded like "Oh, Abby", but I don't think that's correct. If only she would decide that this whole show is beneath her and that she needs to leave for greener pastures. A copy of the Constitution, a photo of Dolly. I wonder what else is crowded on her night stand.
  2. Meghan was so rude/unprepared to be reading her notes and adding to them at the beginning of the show when Abby was talking. Meghan said something when everybody was talking, after Sunny said the president doesn't have to do something illegal to be impeached, and neither I nor the closed captioner caught it, but Meghan said "illegal" again when she was pointing to herself. Did she say something like she thinks the president should only be impeached if they've done something illegal? She gets to determine on her own what the Constitution says? Meghan - "Let's be intellectually honest" - ha! Also Meghan - "One of the things that I pride myself in is that we can't get too sucked into the beltway and the media circles". What?! I honestly have no idea what exactly she's priding herself in (on) here. (And she thinks everyone should listen to her, dammit!) Sunny's being disingenuous when she says Buttigieg is polling at 0% with African Americans, as if there's only one poll and that's it. While polls do show low support for him from African Americans, they usually show a number higher than 0. I have never, ever heard any news referred to as "iconic".
  3. Stouffer's does have good lasagnas. I haven't seen my favorite one in years - It was heavenly. (Now I've made myself hungry.)
  4. I wonder if someone has corrected her before, and she got snippy. Maybe that's why they hesitated to correct her.
  5. I felt bad for her as well. I mean, she looks forward to it for months! I wonder if Joy will make her another one (say, as a Christmas present), when she knows the rest of Whoopie's family is not in town.
  6. In one of my earlier posts today I said that The View might have scheduled guests for Thursday because only one witness was on the hearing schedule, and they might be able to do a show for the west coast. Well, that's changed. Nicolle Wallace just announced on her show that another witness has been added to Thursday's hearing. Who knows what the show will do. Maybe they could save it for next week, and then start their Thanksgiving break a day early.
  7. I think so, too, since HBC was just then taking her cardigan off, not realizing that the interview was about done.
  8. Oh, yes, as she explains to all of us peons the reality of the political landscape.
  9. You know what, they didn't, surprisingly, now that you mention it.
  10. Did anyone else notice when Whoopie was telling the first half of the lasagna story, Meghan had her arms crossed? She never sits that way; she was unconsciously showing her resentment at not being given one. She says she cooks; the recipe's online; she could make it herself.
  11. It is interesting that the story about the stock photo being of people from Kenya happened to come out this weekend. There's only a morning witness scheduled, so the hearing might be over in time for the west coast to get a new episode, and who knows, maybe even the rest of the country. Then Congress is off for their Thanksgiving break, so they might want to get an early start.
  12. Not even two minutes in, and Meghan is full of it. Buttigieg was never "in the Beto lane" and changed his position because "he read the tea leaves on that". And he didn't just release his Douglass Plan; it's been out since July. It's the story about the stock photo that came out this weekend. And then Whoopie oh so seriously says that the campaign needs to take the time to get things right, but the hosts, with the considerable audience this show has, also have a responsibility to get the facts right, and they don't always seem to take the care to do so and only occasionally correct themselves (and they are, after all, part of the news division). I guess being "totally American" means you don't have to know the history of anywhere else.
  13. It is hilarious. I'm so glad you posted it. Everybody needs to go read it. I wish the powers that be would take note. The author said he writes about Meghan a lot. I've bookmarked the site, which I hadn't heard of before, so I can check out his previous articles.
  14. The segment was called "Whoopie's Favorite Things", but unlike "Oprah's Favorite Things", weren't offered as a VYD.
  15. He had melanoma. That's such a coincidence that you mentioned this. I also thought of the original Wheel of Fortune today. Sometimes I'd watch it with a friend during summer vacation. There were lots of prizes on the stage with prices next to them, and contestants selected however many they could afford depending on how much money they'd won. I had fun choosing what I would pick, but my friend would always say that she'd rather win cash because she could use it to pay the taxes on it. What's so funny is, we were in grade school at the time. I guess she read the fine print at the end of the show. That was the main thing I wondered about.
  16. Jim Jordan and Meghan share the same arguing tactic - if you talk as fast and as loudly as possible you will convince everyone of what you're saying. They are all practically giddy this morning. A birthday, a Temptations song, and no Meghan sure lightens the mood. This audience really cleaned up with the giveaways - an $1800 weekend retreat! Have they ever given away something worth that much?
  17. She did a good job considering the long day she's had - she co-anchored MSNBC's impeachment coverage for 7 hours and then hosted her show right after that.
  18. I wonder if Meghan watches This Is Us. On tonight's episode, the character played by Jennifer Morrison says something to Kevin about her father that indicates he served in the military. Kevin says, "I didn't know your father was in the military", to which she replies, "Not all of us talk about our dead dad all the time". I immediately thought of Meghan and just had to laugh.
  19. Interestingly, I found this - Today they talked about watching the hearings, but I don't think anyone explicitly said they wouldn't be doing the show. Maybe they forgot to, since it was during this discussion that Meghan awkwardly interrupted to announce that she wouldn't be there for the next three days, and why, until Sunny brought it back to the topic at hand.
  20. No. It switched from the entertainment division in the fall of 2014, the year Rosie O'Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, and Rosie Perez co-hosted, as well as Whoopie.
  21. Meghan, if you aren't prepared to talk about Max Boot, why are you? Meghan actually pouted, didn't she, after she criticized the fact that Jennifer Rubin and Max Boot, when they go on tv, are "quoted" as Republicans, when they "might as well be liberals" like Joy, and then she said, "I'm sick of it because it makes my life harder!" She actually thinks that not "abandoning conservative principles" is more important than anything else. Kristen Bell and Jeff Goldblum are two of those people who are always exceptional talk show guests, no matter what show they're on.
  22. Oh, man. I looked up her tweets, and first, she is telling someone to be kind while she is being less than kind herself (and she's going out of her way to respond, on her personal twitter page, to someone's tweet from The View's twitter page, not her own). She says, "You know what - this is deeply insensitive and I am sick of this garbage". She says she "does the absolute best I can...Do not judge my grief, my pain, and my love for my family." She finishes by saying, "Oh, yeah, I do it every single day on television." Well, that's the whole problem right there. The tweet that set her off - "Sorry for her loss, but this is getting really old. Other people's father's died. They were important too."
  23. Did this woman (Meghan) just fool around in class - "post-hummus-ly"?!!!!!!!!!!! What's funny is, it looks like she actually practiced reading from the teleprompter, and slowed down her normal speaking speed. She looked so proud of herself.
  24. For this week, at least - Wednesday and Friday.
  25. I was checking tomorrow's guest lineups for the late night talk shows, and noticed Whoopie's on Seth Meyer's show. I imagine she'll enjoy herself more than Meghan did when she was on.
