  1. That, and poor Abby was just saying she was grateful her kids are too young to be exposed to things like this video, (and she doesn't have to explain it to them), which is perfectly understandable, and I'm sure is what many parents of young children feel, and Meghan's all, "It's not even about that because I'm old enough to understand it".
  2. Because Meghan is so open about her grief, in public, and probably privately, people long ago likely started acting uncomfortable, or avoided the subject when she bought it up, because there's only so much any one person can say. Meghan might have taken from this that there's a stigma about discussing grief, when it's really a stigma against her discussing her grief.
  3. Oh, no, no, no, no, your information wasn't bad - I should have quoted or provided the link to the website to begin with. All their categories and subcategories, while impressive, are confusing.
  4. I found what those two price tiers get you - Do you think they were influenced by her having 380,000 followers on social media, which makes her seem popular? The short video advertising this says there will be a Q & A session. Are people going to ask her personal questions..., or for advice? It just seems like it could get awkward.
  5. Here's a link to their website - Good Shepherd Community Care. Under the 'Programs/Services' heading the drop down menu lists hospice and palliative care separately, so that's why I listed them that way. The section on the homepage that mentions Meghan's appearance is headlined with the dinner, and then ends with "[If you] would like to make a donation to Good Shepherd Institute...", so I think you're right, the cost of the tickets is to cover the cost of the venue, the dinner, and Meghan's fee, but it's an occasion where many in attendance will likely make donations to the organization. If it was a fundraiser, donations wouldn't be optional. Earlier I was wondering if the person/people responsible for choosing Meghan as their featured attraction have actually seen her on The View, or if she was simply chosen based on her name and recent history, and they're assuming, based on the fact that she's on a major tv talk show, that she's well-spoken and capable of having an intelligent (and calm) discussion about grief. This will be her first outing in her new venture, right? So there are no reviews of past appearances to go by.
  6. I'm wondering if it maybe it was, though. Remember this from last year - MSN.com At one point, every so often, she would try to be more argumentative, but that doesn't come naturally to her, which she even said a few weeks ago. I think that's why she's so bad at it, even as she's been doing it more frequently. Her heart's just not in it. ABC really should have concentrated instead on toning Meghan down. (And not because she's female, and should be "soft". But because way too often she's exasperating AF.)
  7. I wonder if it's usual to have dinner included with this type of discussion, since it's not a fund-raiser, or an awards ceremony. In some instances, a higher price means a closer seat. I know with political fundraisers, the higher price point often means you get to meet/take a picture with the person it's for. It would be interesting to find out how the ticket sales end up. edited to add - I checked their website, and now I think it might be a fundraiser, but not just for the hospice. There are a handful of additional entities, such as Good Shepherd Palliative Care and Good Shepherd PediPal, under the umbrella of Good Shepherd Community Care, and the dinner where Meghan is speaking, the Good Shepherd Institute Dinner, is probably their annual dinner (there was a link to a slideshow of their 2018 dinner). So I imagine people will be attending mostly for the Institute, and not because of Meghan. I have no knowledge of these types of organizations, but I'm impressed with the wide variety of services they offer, in various categories. This only makes me more surprised that they chose Meghan as their speaker. Last year's speaker is more understandable, and very impressive - Wikipedia .
  8. At first glance I thought it was her mother.
  9. Does she think people will take her more seriously if she dresses this way, akin to her always having her notes and a pen? Or does she like the dichotomy of presenting herself as prim and proper on tv, and being a gun-shootin', cigar-smokin', hard drinkin' type of gal offscreen?
  10. You can certainly see why his neighbor attacked him, however illegal that may have been.
  11. She did say that, but then she said something like, 'Don't mansplain to me', so I thought she might be saying that to Rand Paul.
  12. Love both Abby's and Sunny's prints. (I was afraid Sunny was going to get hot sauce on her sleeve.) I bet Joy's sorry she couldn't be there for a no-Meghan day. Oh, geez. Abby believes the rally was packed. I'm sure they were saying that on Fox, because that's what the president was saying. From MPR News - (I wonder how many stayed for all 103 minutes of it,) Sunny wondered why Giuliani hasn't been indicted. She didn't do her research - yesterday the SDNY U.S. Attorney said during a press conference that the investigation is ongoing, and the only reason the Wednesday arrests happened was because Rudy's associates were at the airport with one-way tickets to Vienna, which is why least part of the investigation had to revealed earlier than planned. Did Abby seem to be leaning away from Rand Paul (and did he choose to match the set)?
  13. This just popped into my head - As you said, Meghan does not like John Heilemann. I don't know if they've ever met, or if so, if she's been around him since Game Change came out, but if not, maybe she went to L.A. to give him a piece of her mind.
  14. Yes, as best as I remember, she wasn't the same on The Cycle. Of course, none of her three co-hosts there were conservative, which might have had something to do with that. Except for a lucky few, working at Fox News is like being in a cult, and Abby still needs some "deprogramming". But unfortunately, Meghan is also a bad influence.
  15. I have a feeling Abby would be more palatable if Meghan wasn't a co-host. I think she's influenced by Meghan's forcefulness on certain topics that Abby might not have a strong opinion about otherwise. It figures. (I was just writing the above when you posted this.)
  16. The show is live; it's shot in L.A., so they probably fly out today or tomorrow.
  17. Meghan gets so frustrated when others don't see the wisdom of her brilliance. The only good reason to be yelling like that is if who you're talking can do something to fix what you're upset about (and that's probably not the best route go then, either). I guess the other ladies at the table should consider themselves lucky she's not even worse when she flies off the handle (or maybe they do see that backstage).
  18. Oh, I bet you're right. Since seeing he was going to be on a couple of weeks ago, I've been debating whether I can bring myself to watch. I've never seen him on anything, but....well, we'll see.
  19. There are those you're closer to, Whoopie, who should do their homework as well (Although Meghan probably thinks she is doing her homework, during the show - that's why she's always holding a pen). Meghan, It's been three days, not a week since we've left Syria. "Blame shift"? And then Joy set Meghan straight - the administration is responsible for both. She doesn't care about impeachment? It figures that Meghan can only focus on one thing at a time. So did Abby get the "cry wolf" phrase from Meghan's husband? I agree, and I'd like one, too. A Meghan-free day tomorrow, plus Ana!
  20. When Whoopie first mentioned Loving, I'm pretty sure Sunny said, "Loving?", so I also thought Sunny didn't know what Whoopie was talking about at first.
  21. That's right, I forgot about that. I ended up watching The Loudest Voice on Showtime this summer based on Joy's wholehearted recommendation when Seth MacFarlane was on the show publicizing it, and I surprisingly, thoroughly enjoyed it (Russell Crowe will likely be up for awards), but the behavior, for decades, that Roger Ailes was able to get away with, with so many women, especially young women, was sickening. (There was a comment somewhere, from someone who thought the miniseries was going to be pro-Fox News that went something like, "They're trying to make Fox out to be Fake News!." I hope Abby did not go through any of that.
  22. The main way we know this, other than Meghan's say so (because she has sooo many friends), is because during Meghan's first season, the show did a segment where the hosts paired up with their best friend to play a game.
  23. It was so odd, in a way, how Abby so vehemently stressed, a couple of times, that the women there held the place together, and were heroes, and then Meghan also said twice that that was when she and Abby, already friends, really bonded. I think Meghan, during her first season, said she didn't experience any harassment while there, but I don't think Abby has said one way or the other, at least on the show.
