  1. Okay, I was coming here to say that there's no way, at this point, that Lucy's BF isn't an acolyte. That has to be Chekhov's song, right? I can't believe they just threw that in there if there wasn't going to be a future payoff. I don't know if it will be a season-ending cliffhanger or what, but her bf is just this boring, nice guy, and his utter NORMALCY is what's screaming at me, but then they throw in the song and the fact that he got so drawn into that online group. I'm just assuming these are breadcrumbs, because I can't imagine she just breaks up with him, and they have this tearful goodbye.
  2. 1. What the heck kind of phone does she have that pictures aren't automatically uploaded to the cloud? I have an Android, and I don't have to do anything. 2. Do these people use personal phones on the job? Questions to ponder. I'm glad she was toned down for some scenes here, like when she questioned that guy. I think if she strikes the right balance between wacky/fun and serious, it will be easier to take.
  3. I love that the Walker boys didn't leave captivity unscathed. Too often, five minutes after someone was kidnapped and t0rtured, many shows depict them laughing and joking, like they didn't just go through what they did. Interesting ending there.
  4. It's not so much an issue with her body. I would never think of body shaming. It's the amount of EXTREMELY lowcut, tight tops she wears, and the job she has, and if it's at all realistic she'd be allowed to continue with this dress code, much less the nails, jewelry, etc. She worked at a school, and it would seem to me dressing in clothes that revealed her bra while she was on the job, would definitely have been frowned upon. If she's on a beach, and she's supposed to blend in, it's fine if she wears a bikini.
  5. Yeah. They kept talking about his artistry and how his creations were really artistic, and he liked the artistry of R's plot. So, to me the whole thing with the tanks is like this hobby. The women are just kind of secondary, really. He seemed to accumulate them rather easily and liked making them part of his art project.
  6. Hey, at least she didn't go skipping into the basement! The cleavage is ridiculous, especially as someone who used to work around kids.
  7. I'm willing to handwave the Bailey thing. 1. My captions showed that a female voice was calling for help. 2. It was said multiple times that she had that place wired and clearly had cameras in there. So it seems like she lured Bailey into that room and made sure she was the one who fell through the hole. I think her acolyte was more typical of a serial killer. In the crossover, we see he has a superficial charm that he uses to great effect. It was much more realistic than the super genius who manages to get the mobile number of everyone, break into everyone's house, be fifty steps ahead, come up with huge, complicated plans...
  8. It affected her job enough that she had mandated therapy. So, the situation itself, no. That it interfered with her job performance? Yes.
  9. I'm having Supernatural flashbacks. Looks like Cordell is going for a full k1dnapping stamp card. The thirteenth is free! I like how they've integrated Trey into the inner circle. Having Liam there definitely ups the ante. I didn't see that coming. We'll see how it goes.
  10. I also had an inkling, since Brett is the only person she talked to, and he's the only one who told her that they wanted her to head this operation, that he could have been lying.
  11. I'd originally come here to say I was partially right re: THE ADMISSION. All of these things did happen, but fortunately it only delayed the inevitable until the end of the episode and not for months on end as we watch them go from relationship to relationship. And after the latest news, I understand why they went ahead with this. So glad to see that it's probably going to be picked up, since the reason for the cancellation wasn't low ratings. I love this show. I need the fluffiness right now. It has heart. And on a shallow note, I need Jay and his Hawaiian shirts in my life.
  12. Can someone clarify something? Last we saw Maddie, she was moving in with her boyfriend. When this new guy started flirting with her, I thought she would say she had a live-in boyfriend, but he appears not to exist here. Was any mention made about them breaking up?
  13. Not only are they witnesses, but they're witnesses who think Saint's a pretty cool guy who helps the community. Agree that Hondo needs to rein it in, because it's not like the higher ups aren't already looking for a reason to fire him. @Danielg342 Yep. I think this is exactly where they're going. Saint's been a cool customer and hasn't raised his voice once or said an unkind word to Hondo, while Hondo is shooting his mouth off.
  14. Yes, the story definitely needs to move forward. I'm thinking even if there is evidence, his value within the community will work against Hondo. I don't know if he can prove Hondo has harassed him, since he's never taken Saint in to interrogate him. Like, if he kept arresting Saint for crimes he gets cleared of, it would show a clear case. However, I do agree that Hondo needs to stop going there and threatening him, until he has something concrete, because otherwise he just looks like a Chihuahua nipping at Saint's heels. We've received the message. All Hondo has at this point is posturing, but we don't want it to wind up a running gag.
  15. Yes, I don't mind the curmudgeon deal. I mind the disrespect he shows for those he supervises, especially when it's undeserved. The constant gripes about L.A. and his team isn't a good look. He can keep the personality, but maybe he can direct it where it's earned.
  16. 1. I knew the minute I saw that statue shattered on the ground, that it was fake. 2. That guy who shot the drug dealer is totally dirty, especially after what Saint said. 3. If this feud between Leroy and Hondo is over, I'll be eternally grateful. 4. So it wasn't the previous episode of Street almost dying, it was this one. 5. Street telling Chris that she MADE him feel like a fool, pissed me off. He's made some clumsy missteps, but saying that to her was the biggest one, as far as I'm concerned. 6. So glad the Stris WT/WT is finally over. I like that their fist kiss wasn't steamy, but more like two people who deeply love each other. That I felt was done right. So, yeah, I figured they were trying to tell us that Chris had intimacy issues, which is why she was pushing Street away, and Street had been right all along. Again, I think some of what Street did was great, but I also feel he stepped in it a number of times, like in this episode where he acted like a petulant child when Chris tried to help him and totally froze her out. But if this helps Chris open up, then I'm fine. That scene where she's telling Street how she feels about him and why she'd been pushing him away, I thought was excellent and showed new growth for her. The Saint thing will definitely be coming to a head. I do like that at least Saint isn't doing the usual bad-guy shtick, where he seems to be everywhere all the time. He hasn't come after Hondo, etc. Hondo keeps taunting him. However, I also feel that eventually it will lead to Saint getting more aggressive. We'll see. The whole family being slaughtered for some statues was insane. Tan and the little girl were adorable together.
  17. Agreed. Look how hard he tried to hold on to his wife. He wanted to stay married. That turned into a mess. He probably had a bunch of plans that have been dashed. I think Tim is looking for a do-over.
  18. Sometimes when they're trying to establish a character, they go way OTT with them and then dial it back. In their effort to give Kilbride a certain "I've seen it all, and you're just a bunch of snot-nosed kids running around" persona, they've gone way overboard. They had dialed him down, and he had some compassion, etc., so I thought that was the end of his ridiculousness, and then this happened, and he took a giant step back.
  19. I would agree mostly with this, because Chen hasn't shown the amount of hurt she did in this episode. However, I always felt like this started further back, probably before she could even admit it to herself, and she might now be fully admitting it to herself..
  20. I think the reason Chen is going so over the top with getting involved in Bradford's dating life, is that she's desperately trying to figure out just how serious he is about this woman he's dating, so her actions are pretty realistic if you look at it from that angle. She clearly had a reaction to Bradford saying he could see himself married to his gf, and she definitely was unhappy about what she thought was a proposal. It does not seem like she's into her current bf, and I agree, I've thought there was something fishy about him ever since he was humming that tune. I'm in agreement that if this is the case, Bradford will come to the rescue, and that will be the tipping point. Perhaps his gf sees his reaction and realizes what's going on, etc. I think next week's previews are a big, huge fake-out, and they're probably undercover or something. I just can't see them being that blatant and showing that many cards.
  21. Totally agree. I think we're supposed to see this as some kind of "growth" for Street, and Chris is holding it up due to her commitment issues, which is why the only recent situation she pretty much "committed" to was one she had to have known couldn't be maintained forever.
  22. Here's how I think they want us to perceive this cat and mouse game. Street is at the point where he's ready to make a commitment. He's all in. Chris is supposed to be seen, as you said, having a particular "reason" for holding back that she's not sharing with the rest of the class. My take is that we're supposed to wonder what's going on psychologically with Chris that's stopping her from committing to Street. So yes, they're basically making this her problem and not his. And while I agree they could have had her occasionally let him know she had feelings, etc., it would probably be seen as leading him on, which might be why the show decided not to go in that direction. Instead, they focus on "something's going on with Chris, but we're going to wait a reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaally long time to reveal it, so we'll keep this tapdancing routine alive by consistently reminding the audience that Street wants a relationship, while Chris is dealing with an 'issue' that's stopping her from fully going all-in." But I also agree that if Chris just said, "Stop pursuing me. I will never be in a relationship with you, ever," instead of telling him it was because they were teammates, etc., making Street think this was the only obstacle, that would have helped. So because she basically told him them being on the same team was the only reason they weren't together, Street saw that door as cracked open. But on the other hand, once you put your feelings out there in the most direct way you can, you stand the hell back and give the other person some breathing room, and not the amount you perceive as enough, but what THEY do. And if it takes too long, you just go to the person and let them know you're backing off and moving on. That's it. By showing Street repeatedly putting pressure on her, the show backfired in it's calculations as showing Street as the "good guy" and Chris as a huge roadblock to their happiness. ETA: Interesting take re: the finale. It does leave a lot of options.
  23. When I saw what was happening last episode, I really thought this was the moment Stris happened. Like, she realizes she could lose him, and it gets her to finally take the leap. I was severely disappointed when Street left with the flight attendant. Street has been pressuring Chris for a while now. Even when she came over just to offer her condolences, he was questioning why she was there, when she wouldn't commit to him. It did seem disingenuous and kind of weird for her to say that if they were meant to be together, it would have magically happened, as if she hasn't been resisting it and finding reasons for it not to happen from the very beginning. I really wish they'd given us some kind of hint as to why she's so resistant to something that seems pretty simple. I know that she wanted to be taken seriously on her own terms, and maybe thought that her getting together with Street wouldn't blow back on him, but would definitely have an effect on her. And yes, they really haven't given us any indication that after her bender, she hadn't totally recommitted to S.W.A.T. She seemed to be fully there and never expressed a word of doubt to anyone about how unsure she was about her future and where she would go. It seemed to come out of nowhere. And I don't think Mama Pina's little operation there earns any money, so I'm confused as to how she's going to keep it going. It just seems like an impulsive, foolish decision that she didn't put any thought into. She's throwing away an entire career she loves. This is the kind of thing you mull over and ask advice about. I went and read up on if she's leaving, and pretty much there's been no confirmation that she is. So, who knows? But if she doesn't get together with Street, it will be a whole lotta build-up with no payoff, and that really sucks. My level of frustration will be through the roof if this is how it all ends.
