S11.E11: The Moral Minority
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I'm kind of iffy on the producers, who sent Vicki home in an Uber car in scrubs, screwing up. Wearing scrubs home from the hospital at 1 am is not the worst thing in the world. Going home alone is not great but Vicki is alone and did not have any immediate family who were willing to be with her at that time. Better to go home than wait at the hospital for them. If/when production left Vicki, they were probably told at some point that she could be here anywhere from 1-4 more hours (if not admitted) because that's how things run in the ER. And Vicki was going home to an ER nurse who could monitor her condition. All in all, not so bad for someone who alienates many of the people who could be her support system. No Brooks, no Donn, no Briana, no Michael, no close friends, no neighbors cared to come for Vicki. An Uber ride and some scrubs is not so bad for someone who has designed her life to include so few people who actually care about her. If she had to hitchhike home gripping trash bags to her naked body, then I would be upset. -
S08.E22: Reunion Part 2
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I view Carole as being true to herself in that she looks to a strong personality to "follow." She seems to be most comfortable in that environment. When she first came on the show, she was called Heather's shadow and there were many complaints that she was just Heather's echo chamber. Now she has again latched on to the most assertive person on the show. She just goes along for the ride and doesn't have to do as much "work" as the other women. Like it or now, I think Carole is just the same as she ever was. -
S09.E07: I Know What You Did Last Saturday
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Flipping Out [V]
I have read the debate above over Zoila's position/work ethic, and I ... ... come down squarely in the middle. Zoila's at an age and has so many years of past service that Jeff should be taking the lead in offering her choices on less responsibilities. And I don't think he should need a therapist to point that out to him. She's not taking advantage of you Jeff, she's just getting tired, and perhaps confused, more easily. She's not getting her lunch order right because she doesn't want to do the job or care about the people. Her lunch order is correct because that is the order that she knows the best. Why would anyone get their own lunch order wrong, ever? On the other hand, while she is getting older and slowing down that doesn't mean that she is getting nicer. I don't know that she was ever that nice to begin with. Nothing cuddly/caring about that woman comes across onscreen. I'm glad that she has family nearby. (Watching this situation play out, the only person I felt sorry for was Gage who has to put up with it all.) -
S11.E08: Shannon Gets Her Groove Back
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I loved seeing a truly happy occasion and Shannon's reactions. On Shannon's first year, I might have thought negatively about Shannon's dress comment (there she goes ruining the moment again) but now I just smile and think that's such a "Shannon" thing to say! I'm really happy that David made her so happy. Nice to see Jeff and Jenni and Gage too! -
I never liked Andrew and anything connected with Andrew. We could all see that he was on his way out - why couldn't it have been sooner rather than later? To have that bookended with constant fighting between Gage and Zoila was a real downer. I needed some professionalism to come from somewhere and Gage was my last hope. It does seem like they have pulled it together with a better team and I am glad that I stuck it out (it was iffy for awhile). I love to see Jeff designing and would love it if we got to see another "all Jeff Lewis" flip house. Those were just great and made the petty bitchfests and practical jokes worth sitting through. Loved the Smiths.

And they owe him money. Jeff will never let that go.

S03.E05: Gamble's Big Day
rehoboth replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of Melbourne [V]
I would have loved to have seen Chyka step in and make things go a little smoother for poor Gamble who just seemed like she was in way over her head. In my head, Chyka is a little like Mary Poppins but with the addition of a champagne glass in hand. Loved Gamble's dress. Gina appears to have out and out lied to Gamble saying that she was going to spend some time with her son on his birthday. The lying seems unnecessary as who wouldn't forgive Gina for wanting to take one hour and see how her edit came out on the show. Gina is why I watch the show but she does get away with lying to people's faces. -
I haven't boycotted Bravo (but do think that the days of independent films and early Top Chef and Project Runway will be seen as their glory days) and I still missed when they moved from that horrible Hollywood house into their current one. Can anyone fill me in on why they moved? As I recall, that house was yet another one that Jeff had previously owned and was Spanish styled through and through - totally unlike Jeff's style today.

Kim Richards: No Escape from Witch Mountain
rehoboth replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
note: I have no idea how I made this a spoiler. It is just an observation - sorry! -
I felt bad for Jeff losing fact time with Chaz because we have seen how little time Chaz gives to Jeff and yet expects things to keep moving along. However, I was asking my tv last night, why didn't Jeff and Gage split up? Gage could be with the wife listening to her complaints while Jeff was getting business done with Chaz. Does Jeff have to doing everything - why does he bring that entourage along with him to the clients all the time? I feel worse for Frank. He's between a rock and a hard place.

The "showdown" with Bryan was staged like an intervention and when you start something like that you need to lead with things like "You're a great guy BUT there are some things you could have handled better...." Or "You have a bright future and we wanted to share some tips for your next voyage that will make you an even better First Mate." Or even "We want to help you out by letting you know how we felt when you towered over us issuing orders. The message was fine but the deliver needs improvement." That's how you get a guy like Bryan to actually listen to your message. Throwing out slogans like "Treat women better" and "Women are your equals" does nothing to improve anything. Did they think about what they wanted to say beforehand? I did love Tiffany during the talk. She threw out a summary of their grievances ("Treat women better!") right off the bat and then her face was like "Can I go now?" She wanted no part of "bettering" Bryan.

I am assuming that Ashlyn is smart and has googled her employers. A few minutes of any Jeff Lewis show gives you a good idea of his sense of humor and how he treats people so she should know what she's in for. Ashlyn is acting like she doesn't care about getting a promotion to full-time. I definitely wouldn't hire someone so meek and unassertive. I would think there would be a line of people who would give their right arm for this opportunity - even if Jeff's personality comes along with it.

Thank you - I missed that part. Makes more sense now. :-)

S01.E12: The Beautiful Thing About Subpar
rehoboth replied to OnceSane's topic in Below Deck Mediterranean
Quite agree - it took away my fun. I could not enjoy Danny leaving because of the happiness it gave to Bobby and Bryan. No one likes watching a pile on. I actually didn't mind Bryan taking the picture of Danny with his phone out on the deck as childish as that was. Danny just can't leave himself open to that when he is in the position he was in. Now if they could have totally cut Bobby out of the episode, it would have been a much better story. -

S01.E12: The Beautiful Thing About Subpar
rehoboth replied to OnceSane's topic in Below Deck Mediterranean
I thought this was a good wrap up to the season kind of show even though I do not like most of the people at this point. I don't want to see these drunk people out partying and telling each other off. There is really nothing more I want to know about any of them save Jules or maybe Hannah. I don't like any of the men except Ben, who is an interesting character, I don't get Tiffany and I sometimes forget that Jen is there. I think Danny was fired instead of Bobby because there is one more charter and Bobby can pick up Danny's slack but the reverse is not true. Other than that, both of them would be gone. Bryan showed he should not have been promoted by his behavior when Bobby wanted to bring that girl over to the yacht. When you are in "management", you have to represent your boat, your company, etc... at all times. He can't turn being First Mate on and off - he is First Mate all the time. We'll see who else will hire him after this show airs. He must be adequate at all the yachting procedures that Captain Mark supervises but shows little promise as a manager. Two points from last night: loved when Bobby finally realized that Hannah outranks him and loooooooved the beauty of being subpar line - that made my night. ;-D -
If I was the homeowner watching them take down my chandelier that way, I would think twice about having them do any other work for me. The lack of foresight was astounding. Is that the level of sub-contractor that Jeff will employ on my job?
-
Matt was Gage's 'mini-me' at the end of last season. It was great to see how they just looooooved working together amid all the chaos that is Jeff's working environment. Gage yearned for a more professional atmosphere - as did I. Even Vanina let me down last year. How about Jeff being fired from that furniture company. Were they that angry because a beloved employee was made to look small and conniving? The cameras can only serve up what you give them - just sayin'.

S01.E10: Charter From Heaven, Charter From Hell
rehoboth replied to OnceSane's topic in Below Deck Mediterranean
Bryan is just floundering as a manager but I do agree with him on the knots. To me, it's safety issue. Jen may be the one to tie the knot but she may not be the one to untie it. There can't be any surprises in a team situation especially when they are responsible for other people's safety. My guess is that Jen with her ten boats of experience makes Bryan feel insecure so he likes to point out that he knows things that she doesn't. As far as Danny and the tip - I don't think he deserves it. I think he needs to make up for all the extra work the crew has had to do while he was in fact "working." I take my cue from Tiffany - who doesn't seem to have a dog in this fight. When he was shown going around telling multiple people that he was going to put his head down and help out the interior crew to show how useful he could be, she remarked that less talk and some help would be nice. My impression based on that is that the editing is indeed showing us a true picture of Danny who spends a lot of his work time standing around talking to guests and crew. -
S08.E13: Steel Calzones
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I sat there watching that pizza party with my mouth hanging open - not because I was hungry, I was aghast at what Jules was doing. She put all that stuff in her calzone so she wouldn't eat it. I don't care what drugs she was on, that behavior is really scary. Shivers. Dorinda is a really good friend to Bethenny. I hope she is appreciated. I liked that there wasn't too much Bethenny and even less Ramona. I could do with more of Beth's driver. I am not the biggest fan of Lu but she was great in the last 10 minutes - life without the petty stuff! -
I have a question about Bryan - no it's not about his character because I don't think I'm going out on a limb here to say that he's a douche when sober and even worse when drunk. I missed something on the first episode when Bryan was "promoted" to First Mate. Was there supposed to be another another crew member? I remember Bryan being surprised at the time. He may be a competent deck crew member but it looks like he is in over his head as a supervisor. That said I do like the list that he made Danny write because Danny's excuse is always "I didn't know." His treatment of Jen and Julia may be because he is a misogynist or we may just be seeing him floundering not knowing how to deal with someone who lied to him on their second day together or an over-reaction to the Captain's casual remarks. In either case, I think he needs to be demoted.

S11.E02: Making Friends But Not Amends
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
So nice to see the old gang back. Vicki is concentrating on work, Tamra's face looks different and Ryan can't get his life together. Never change OC! So Terry feels guilty about not feeling guilty. For a man who loves the camera as much as Terry does, he sure doesn't realize what is not a good moment to be preserved forever. His poor kids just rank so far down his list of life's priorities. I just love Shannon. Her looks during Kelly's story were priceless and a great stand in for us, the audience. Love those judgey-eyes! -
S08.E10: Unhappy Holidays
rehoboth replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I tried to watch this show. I tuned a couple of times but I couldn't take the screaming and the fleeing. I found that I would rather suffer through a Thor movie to catch a glimpse of Tom Hiddleston than spend time with those soul sucking demons from the Upper East Side! I did tune in later (after I was sure Tom's character was dead) and got to see more of Bethenny being mad and not wanting to talk to Luann or Sonja at the next party. What is the point of this show if one bitches and complains about interacting with your castmates. I mean suck it up Beth! Later I was pleasantly surprised by Luann's apology. I sensed a real change in her voice from the Berkshires apology - she sounded very earnest to me. And if Bethenny did not accept it, I don't think I could watch this show again. If Carol doesn't accept it, well I don't really care. Does anyone? -
Bryan is just gross. The thing is will he look at his behavior and learn something and change? Judging by his twitter remarks, I don't hold out much hope for that. Ew. The bright spot was Tiffany. I have not had too high an opinion of her based on her lackadaisical work ways, drinking out of the wine bottle, suggesting a hot tub rendezvous with an obviously drunk guy. And drunk Tiffany decided to drink more once they were back on board. I was really, really happy when she displayed good sense and told that loser to get lost. Thank you, Tiff. I don't think I could go on with this series if it went any other way. As far as Bryan having favorites, I can see why he trusts Bobby the most. Remember Jen got up late and lied to his face on her first full work day. There are repercussions to that. She seems to be slowly earning his respect. Danny, on the other hand, is going the other way.
