We were shocked by Michaela going from setting up her camera for a good angle and saying "Okay, guys, let me show you how to make this squirrel pole..." to a complete breakdown two seconds later and tapping out lol

It's six, so if you didn't like the first one, you might want to cut your losses and move on to the next thing on your list lol. But I understand if you want to stick with it for SF, she's the only reason I didn't bail myself.

I absolutely love Anna Maxwell Martin @CharlizeCat but just from reading the description, I think that show might be a little too intense for me. I had no idea it was based on a true story! I finished Protection last night and it wasn't that good IMO. After the first couple of episodes, I just kept it on as background noise and was still able to keep up with the plot pretty easily.

In the last couple of weeks, I've finished the last season of Vera (insert major sad face), the new season of Shetland (love Tosh and very much enjoying Ashley Jensen), and S2 of Trigger Point. Vicky McClure, you're lucky I love you, because this show is a mess lol I also noticed a new show on Britbox called Protection. I'd never heard of it, but when I see Siobhan Finneran in something, I have to give it a shot. Looks like she's playing a cop who watches over people in witness protection. Anyone else watched it?

My family was rooting so hard for Ky. She was amazing.

Just finished the new episodes on Britbox and I love this little show. It's not too light and fluffy, ala Shakespeare and Hathaway, but nowhere near as dark as Shetland and Vera (all shows I really enjoy, I just have to be in the mood for them). It's just the right mix. McDonald is finally growing on me, and I love Dodds more each season.

I reject this news. It makes me too sad. But thank you for all these wonderful years, Brenda!!
-
Yeah, I'd never heard of him either @anniebird but his Wikipedia definitely makes him sound shady.

I laughed at the "Nineteen strangers..." thing in the opening too, especially with some of them saying they've known each other for twenty years lol. I guess the problem is that quite a few of the players are famous in NZ and I've never heard of any of them.

That is driving me crazy. I had to turn them off in order to try and figure out everyone's names, so I missed a bunch of the conversations. Seems like a no brainer when you're doing CC, not to cover the text.

I love Claudia so much, she is just magical. Nice to see that some of them are finally pinging onto the fact that Harry was a little too brilliant during the round table with Paul. I'm already spoiled about the outcome of the show, but it still hasn't taken away a single moment of enjoyment because I find this version vastly superior to the US one.

I couldn't get past how much the lead actress looks like a young Kristin Davis with some Maggie Q and Kim Kardashian thrown in.

I was so sad to have Nicky and her absolutely adorable accent leave the tent...but very thankful Saku gets another week! She is so sweet and she makes me laugh every episode.

I knew before I clicked that it would be an Alan Sepinwall article. His amazing website, where he did reviews of all the episodes back in the day, helped me fall in love with the show.

Very bold strategy from Emily, waiting a whole ten minutes into the game to basically go scorched earth with a sprinkling of possible racism for good measure. I'm definitely Team Kaleb and Sabiyah on that tribe - but I also had the same WTF look on my face that Emily did when the whole alien/battery pyramid theory was mentioned. Hopefully it never comes up again, so I can forget all about it. And of course I hated Hannah and Brandon. I know myself, I would get sick on the flight to Fiji and for sure sick on the boat, not to mention I hate bugs, the outdoors and physical competitions. Also, can't swim. So I would never audition to be on this show. As someone said earlier, those two obviously just wanted to be on TV. Clearly they should have tried for Big Brother instead.

@Jaded Yep, I think that's probably the guest appearance that sticks out the most in people's minds lol I think I'll always appreciate her guest role on NYPD Blue the most, because I tuned in just to see her and that ended up becoming my favorite drama series of all time. Plus, it was Jimmy Smits' first episode! (I remember her saying that Linda Dano was a huge fan of the show, so Alicia got Jimmy and Dennis Franz to sign her script and she gave it to Linda.)

I've wondered that for 30 years, because I think she's a phenomenal talent...not to mention a badass woman and all around fabulous human being. She's worked consistently for decades, but it just seems like the stars never aligned to for her to become a household name like I had always hoped she would. At least she's always had steady work, though. I haven't listened yet, but I already know I'm going to love it lol

I follow our beloved Linda Dano on Instagram and she has started a podcast called "In with Linda Dano" that I think AW fans would definitely enjoy. So far she's had Stephen Schnetzer, Anna Holbrook, Judi Evans and Anna Stuart, plus some non-AW folks like Robert S. Woods, Deidre Hall and Erika Slezak. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that she has Alicia Coppola on soon!

You're right - Andy held his head under the sink behind the bar, trying to get answers about Danny's whereabouts. It might have even been Greg Grunberg, if I'm remembering correctly.

The Great Food Truck Race - General Discussion
TaraS1 replied to a topic in The Great Food Truck Race
I haven't watched the final episode yet, so I had to come here first and make sure those miserable heifers from Khana lost before I even bothered. Congrats, Easy Vegan!! -
Well, I just misread those two all the way around, didn't I? lol
-
I actually thought Dan and Cheeney had a crush on each other because they were so touchy feely as partners and I think even kissed on the lips when she left. Clearly I know nothing lol. Pretty eye opening that they're all supposed to be skilled survivalists and only two of them could make primitive fire. Kudos to Waz and Dan for that.

I met Mindy Cohn at a fan convention this past weekend and the whole "never meet your heroes" thing certainly does not apply to her. She was by far the kindest, warmest, most engaged person I met all day. Just absolutely lovely and gracious in every way, like she was your oldest friend and hadn't seen you in years.

I was glad to see Matt go just because I've gotten sick of his and Waz's attitudes. I also think he laid the injury thing on a little extra thick at the end because he was embarrassed about getting beat by Jeff. I wish I hadn't deleted my recording because I specifically remember someone (can't remember if it was a contestant or the show's voiceover) say it was up to them if they went to get water first or if they went to find the gourd first. But the clue posted above obviously contradicts that. Interesting. I hope Gary or Steven win.

I met Vicki, Dorothy and Allan on Saturday! Dorothy and Allan were very chatty and friendly, Vicki was cordial. I did ask Dorothy if she's still in touch with Beverly Archer and she said yes, from time to time. She said they used to run into each other in the same small town in upstate NY, and that Beverly is completely retired now and has no interest in doing conventions, even though she's been asked. I also went to their joint Q&A session, which was fun, I just wish it could've been longer. They talked about how they had the show down to such a science that it once only took them 27 minutes to shoot an episode. Allan's favorite episode was "the Keke" with Yeardley Smith (one of mine too), and Dorothy got Yeardley the job because she had previously directed her in a play. Dorothy also said that one of her favorite episodes was the one where Naomi wants to be a stewardess - just because she thought she looked great in the outfit lol The sweetest thing was when they talked about Ken Berry, and the love between Vint and Naomi. Dorothy said she wanted to show real marital love and bring great marital sex back to tv lol. Allan told a lovely story about how Dorothy and Ken were just as loving during rehearsals as they were during taping, and that Dorothy would hold Ken's "pudgy little hands" and kind of looked after him like Naomi did with Vint. He got choked up talking about him.
