  1. *scooches over* But of course! We'll need your snarky genius to tie it altogether! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  2. I love turkey vultures. Here in my part of Georgia they come every Fall to spend their winters. They are death eaters, devouring death out of the environment so that living things can continue to prosper and grow. It is said that the Great Spirit rewarded the turkey vulture with the tremendous gift of soaring and flight for doing one of the earth's most thankless jobs, keeping it clean. For this, the turkey vulture is one of the best soarers in the bird kingdom, and can go for hours without flapping a single wing. They are a magnificent bird, and I just adore them. ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. I feel you, Turtlepower. Next time just come sit by me and we'll judge them together, silently, while we read, surf the net, pic our nits, or just listen to the cacaphony of our numerous internal worlds running amok. You have a partner in crime with me, hun. ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  4. May I live out on the outskirts of town, or the caretaker's cottage on the house grounds, please? As an INTJ too much human interaction makes me break out in a rash. ๐Ÿ˜Ž But, I promise to keep us supplied with wonderful noshes and favorite liquid libations from my frequent runs to the stores...and I have just the vehicle for those ginormous orders! ๐Ÿš› ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. Amen to this, Toodles! He always picks the wrong LAST sister wife (but the right monagamous one!) the wrong place to live (too expensive Flagstaff), the wrong woman to rewed (should have been Janelle or Christine) the far too expensive plot of Little Plague on the Prairie, the wrong odious house plan, the wrong treatment for poor Ysabel, the wrong financial decisions (million dollar home for Robyn, or car insurance for teens and surgery for Ysabel!) ๐Ÿคจ I could go on and on, but who has that much free time? ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  6. I can't imagine FT pulling down enough money to afford a house like this, yet. There must be gold in the rips and runs of those Lulanos, that and the show. Agree with the person upthread who said Mykelti looked happy, ugly eyebrows and all.
  7. Gracious, didn't recognize Axel with his big smile! A nice looking family. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  8. Awww shucks, Kahala! Thanks so much for your kind sentiments, you're making me blush, for realz! โ˜บ It's so nice to be appreciated. Ya know, I'm a firm believer in the adage, "no person is an island." This is never more true than when being a trucker, for it takes a small army to keep us up and running. From the garage mechanics who work 12-hour shifts to the office ladies who keep us supplied with an almost infinite number of permits and insurance papers, from the housekeeping folks who disinfect the showers and supply us with clean towels to EVERY SINGLE TRUCKSTOP EMPLOYEE who does their part to keep us running yet another 500 miles down the road, I consider all of them essentialโฃ We couldn't do our part without them, these unsung heros of the pandemic. So, on this 4th of July I'm happy to toast them all with my iced matcha and say a hearty THANK Y'All! ๐Ÿ˜
  9. I LOVE ME SOME COLORADO!!!!!!!! Thanks for your report on the salon situation. I'm shaggier than Shaggy from Scooby Doo, but didn't want to get so up close and personal with a hairdresser, yet. However, I think I'm brave enough now to give it a shot. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. Agreed. That response made me LOL because I can relate so well. What about the RBF (resting b**ch face)? Goodness, I remember when i was young people always thought I was either mad or a serial killer due to my face. Honestly, my passport photo made me look like I ran a cartel of some sort. For years I forced myself to wear an insipid smile so people would quit asking me what was wrong or if I was mad. It was when they began treating me like an insipid twit that I stopped doing that and took charge of the situation! ๐Ÿคจ I don't get that much any more...wonder if it has anything to do with me wielding my cane like a weapon? ๐Ÿค” It's great to meet one who is traveling down the same strange path.
  11. Hello! *waves back from the privacy of my homemade, military-grade bunker* ๐Ÿ˜›
  12. An update of the pandemic while OTR: Greetings, my lovelys, I hope this report finds you toughing your way successfully through summer pandemic 2020. ๐Ÿ˜ท The Brown Clowns, apparently, are taking the summer off. Must be due to the effect of some attempting to keeping real jobs (FT), some getting real jobs (Mariah), and some getting their money for nothing and their chicks for free (that one's for you, Kootie!) ๐Ÿ˜ Bad pun aside, for this report you'll find us running mainly in Colorado. We took a few days off to enjoy Steamboat Springs, one of our all time favorite places in the U.S. Waking up to morning temps of 36 degrees at the end of June was a real treat for this Georgia girl! Humidity, you say? What humidity? It's PARADISE. ๐Ÿ’– Being away from running in the relative high stress regions of the East, SouthEast, and MidWest did wonders for us, as we hiked the easy trails, picniced at the lake, and toured neighborhoods where money is TRULY no object. Surprisingly, people here were wearing their masks. I'd say hospitality workers were at almost 100%, and the pedestrians were about 85%. It was busy but not overly crowded. People were trying to social distance with varying degrees of success, as were small business and restaurants. One of the most surprising things I noted was how happy folks were just to be out in the fresh air. Even through their masks, they were enjoying their physical activity, whether hiking, biking, skateboarding, or walking. One item of interest I've noted was how the Amish and Mnenenite folks tackle COVID when in public. As truckers we run into the Amish and Mnenenites quite often in our travels, usually at turnpike travel plazas, truckstops, and the occasional Rutters in PA. With these groups, it looks to be about 50-50 whether they're wearing masks or not. I'd like to ask them their opinion in general of this pandemic, but I don't want to be rude. I guess we could perform a cultural exchange of sorts, they could give me their thoughts on COVID, and I could answer any burning question they have on our trucking lifestyle. From what I observe, some of the men seem to really love 18-wheelers...and truckstop coffee. ๐Ÿ˜Š Oh well, someday, maybe. Well, gotta go and do laundry. Be good to yourselves and to each other, and I'll write up another report as events warrant. ๐Ÿ™‚
  13. As an INTJ I miss none of this, Christine! ๐Ÿ˜› Actually, I've quite enjoyed my alone time, since I haven't had to "splain" myself or been called antisocial in months. ๐Ÿ™„
  14. A truly beautiful baby girl! So full of sunshine. I believe that the color yellow is connected to the solar plexus chakra and it deals in the areas of our will and self-determination. Evie is gonna need lots of that to face down her physical trials, so it's no wonder that Maddie keeps thinking of that color when thinking of Evie. Beautiful pic.
  15. Me and Truely share that gift. It's the only game that I win effortlessly against DH almost every single time. I love me some Sorry! ๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ
  16. This. I CAN'T BELIEVE that this family has known for years that Ysabel would need surgery, and they held held expensive weddings (Aspyn and Mykelti) moved to Flagstaff, went on Disney trips, sent Mariah to Westminster, Bali, and grad school, and bought a 900, 000 home!?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ It's absolutely shameful. ๐Ÿ˜’ If I were Ysabel I would have a clear understanding of what the familial priorities were, and leave as soon as I could!!! ๐Ÿคจ
  17. Glad you're feeling better, Grams. Now, if you'd only stop a poppin yourself in da eye! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. You're welcome, Meowwww. I'm glad I could help. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  19. Thank you, hun. I truly appreciate your kind words. ๐Ÿ˜Š Since you were a nurse I won't offer any medical advice of how to travel amongst COVID, as you're far more educated than me along those lines. However, if I may offer some OTR advice then I'll feel that I've been of service to you. Please, please practice situational awareness while traveling right now. It's more tense on the road than normal, and folks are nervy. Others are DEFINITELY using these trying times to push their boundaries and to act out. As a matter of fact, me and DH had a small situation happen to us just the other day in a rest area. Fortunately, all involved were truckers and the misunderstanding was cleared away without serious incident. Pay close attention to your surroundings. This is no time to worry about exercise; park close to the doors, use pumps closest to the doors, get fuel during daylight hours, and act, talk, and walk in a purposeful manner. Look around you and be in the moment and not on a cellphone. I even use the glass in drink display cases to watch what's going on behind me. I also carry mace. Attempt to steer clear of big cities for refueling, restroom, and meal breaks, unless you know the area. Stop at highway truckstops, particularly Loves truckstops, if possible. Loves are four-wheeler friendly, well lit, cameras everywhere, quite crowded, and truckers (especially female ones) pay minute attention to everybody and everything. Keep your up guard even in the restrooms. Once in an OK restroom I had a predator sizing me up as her prey, so it can happen. If you have to pull over at night to rest a bit in a rest area then park as close to the trucker area as possible. Truckers are in and out all night long and it's safer for you to be close to our area than in a dark part of the four wheeler side. ๐Ÿ‘ Now, on to the more positive stuff. ๐Ÿ™ƒI'm glad you've made the choice to go, Kohola, as I believe it will do you a world of good. Take your precautions with you and get on with your life as much as you can. I'm rooting for you. ๐Ÿค— And, give us updates!
  20. Update on COVID from the road: Good morning, my online polygamous family! ๐Ÿ˜˜ Gee, how I've missed ya! So, the 2nd week OTR found us running from Newark, NJ to Billings and Great Falls, Montana. We are now solidly in June, and in the past that spelled tourist season and all of the R.V.'er shenanigans that goes along with it! ๐Ÿ˜ During the summers we run mainly out West, and in that timeframe our universe consists of CO, WY, MT, AZ, UT, and ND and SD. The western highways bustle with campers, R.V.s, bus tours filled with Asians seeking restrooms, and UHaulers who've had too much caffeine and not enough sleep. Then there's us, a ducking and a dodging them all. ๐Ÿ˜ž Usually at this time, the truckstops are noisy with young'uns grabbing slushies while their dads pull into foreign diesel lanes with rented r.v.s. The rest area picnic tables are FINALLY put to good use as families eat lunches of sammies, slaw, and chips. One group even offered us some of their lunch, once. ๐Ÿ˜Š Although we grouse a little about these vacation interruptions to our workaday world, one must admit that there's a certain lightness of being that permeates the western highways and byways in the summer, as folks head to Cheyenne Frontier Days, Yellowstone, the Tetons, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, and Glacier National Park. We get to see and hear them all. Those childish voices sound alien to our trucker ears, but are a welcome respite from CBs and trucker griping that we're accustomed to. Moms and dads are often distracted but are in happy, carefree moods as they wave or give us a slight smile and a headbob when one of their kids walk in front of our rig without looking. We smile and wave back...nice to see some family action for a change. ๐Ÿ˜› This year is different. As we pulled into the Rabbit Hutch, aka the Sheridan Welcome Center, I noted with sadness that the very pretty convenience store located across the street had closed permanently. No more slushies. With the exception of us and a couple other truckers, the hutch (as i call it due to the plethora of rabbits found there) was devoid of life. No picnicers, no UHaulers, no campers or buses of Asians. Just quiet. Well, maybe they're out running the roads! Alas, they can't be found on the highways, nor the byways. They're not at the truckstops, in diners, or clogging up our Walmart parking spots. They're not wearing Yellowstone ballcaps nor taking numerous photos or showing off Mt. Rushmore tee shirts. They can't because they're not here. The roads are ours and the fuel lines belong to us once more. They're not here. And we miss them. Terribly. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  21. Agreed. Maybe this will be the issue that will finally open Mariah's eyes to her father's faults as a father, husband, and human being. Maybe shell finally become "woke" to his own culpability in how easily Meri was catfished. Doubt it, but one can dream.
  22. I think you have a point, her rage has become darker and she appears to be spiraling out of control. Mariah's ugly responses and her viscious attitude to those who simply don't share her worldview may be due in part to that some of her moms and her siblings may not believe in gay marriage, as it may go against their own personal religious beliefs. These personal views may lead them to not feeling comfortable in attending Mariah's wedding. This would cause a s...storm of massive proportions to reverberate throughout the family. For me, Aspyn's name keeps popping up as one who may not be 100% on board with any or all of HRH Mariah's edicts or lifestyle, although I'm not quite sure why. You just know that some of Mariah's siblings still harbor resentment against her for sucking up more than her fair share of resources like a hoover vacuum cleaner. Some may actually revolt against both Mariah and Kody, no matter what it costs them, personally. The wedding may be in real jeopardy, and that could cause the family the loss of TLC bucks.
  23. Sorry, TeaforTwo, for my late response, but I was getting reacquainted with life on the road. โ›Ÿ Yes, Montana and Wyoming are beautiful states and we'd retire here in a heartbeat if it didn't get so cold. We do plan on RVing when we retire! We both love the open road so much that it would be hard to give it up completely, so that is definitely part of the plan. ๐Ÿ˜
  24. My Covid update from the road. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Yes, I'm back in the saddle, again, currently riding on the ranges of Wyoming, headed for Montana. ๐ŸŽ Armed with masks, Lysol, gloves, sanitizer and soap, I've loaded up for Covid, but I now have to worry more about where the loads are being delivered. This worry has always been with us in one form or another since we became truckers but currently it's much more pronounced. We are carefully watching what day and the time of day we're delivering, and if the delivery area is in turmoil we have to decide if whether we will even accept the load. No load is worth our lives, and forget about the insurance concerns. Moreover, I'm a firm believer in, "an ounce of prevention." ๐Ÿ‘ Interstate traffic varies strongly by state. Some states, like Georgia, are open and so the traffic is back to being atrocious. Other states and their turnpikes, such as the Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana turnpikes, while they are open their plazas are limited operationally, and therefore are like ghost towns in some areas. Fortunately we have on the truck 2 refrigerators, one of which we've use as a freezer for the time being, a microwave, and a Keurig. I made plenty of meals and froze them while I was home so we're good for a minute. Even with the above concerns I'm so glad to be back OTR. I'm a gypsy at heart and I love our lifestyle. ๐Ÿ’• We worked so HARD to get here, and made many sacrifices along the way to reach our preferred method of living, that it's sad to be thinking it could be over so soon after we finally reached our pinnacle. ๐Ÿ“ˆ However, with the current events being what they are I don't know how much longer we'll be able to do it. Me and DH began discussing early retirement as an option if these events continue to escalate, as we are older and decrepit and just aren't up to this fight. ๐Ÿ™ƒ We fought off Covid but I don't think we can fight both Covid and the rioting at the same time. But, that is still Plan "B". We'll have to see what happens after the election in November. BTW, I want to thank this forum for helping me to pass the time and keeping me entertained over the last several months. I think I would've went a little cray-cray without having y'all make me laugh and see the ridiculousness of life, especially as it pertains to the Brown clowns! As a matter of fact, that selfie that Sofasloth created of Pudge and Sludge with the shark, along with Laurakaye's thoughts about it, still makes me grin. Y'all been great, stay well and safe out there. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
