At 5' 1 " including hair...I agree

Cooking shows in general stress me out. A lot of the early ones would show people in their chefs whites or at least a nice chef attire, neat. My mother was extremely neat and clean in the kitchen. We had to wear hair nets and sometimes gloves especially if we were cooking for other people. Excessive hand washing and keeping surfaces clean. There was no dipping the spoon into the sauce and tasting it and putting it back wo cleaning or anything like that. Diners di and Dives is the worst. And yes I rarely eat out๐คฃ It really annoys me to watch these cooking shows and people look so unkempt in the kitchen when they are cooking for others when I take more care even cooking for myself. Look how neat Ali, Charbel and a few others always present themselves. While I don't connect to Sarah's personality and she has never made anything that I would want to eat, I don't mind other people being bothered by her.๐ I do try to keep in mind that editing is always trying to tell a story for ratings and Top Chef reasons. It's just these days everybody wants to demonize or excessively praise people for the bare minimum...that is what bothers me and I recognize it is my issue to deal with. Editing is so aware of that and tries to play into people's emotions, hence the Tom and Dale edits. They are also aware of the criticism they have received about sexism and racism. So we get the edits of Sarah as superwoman for pumping, which people do every day ,so that people will know how female friendly Top Chef is ,along with Padma saying how she looks forward to knowing more of Victoires food and her talking about racism. Their" we have ignored ethnic food and ethnic judges Portland season"annoyed me but I have to put it aside if more people get exposure even of it is only to make Top Chef look better. Sarah chose to take a financial opportunity to gain exposure for herself and that is great. Her pumping whilst doing this however IMO is nothing to be elevated when I think of the number of women who do it in less supportive environments and under much more difficult circumstances. I mean she pumps anyway and they are paying to Ship it back so what extraordinary is she actually doing? I have stories of people really suffering to try to pump In the work place and who perform much more physical work. As this is a cooking show I don't care to see anybody's rear, whether it's a nice shot or not, anything else that is not about food or the competition. The emotional stories dont bother me that much as they dont necessarily humanize anyone to me. No matter what the story all people are capable of being not nice on any given day or could be top notch and make horrible food. I actually tune out most of them and learn from the comments. Some are interesting and others are not but as someone said we all have our opinions. Makes you wonder why production is choosing to include certain shots and comments that is the real question instead of why they bother people. People are reacting as the intended.

This along wuth the shopping, something they did not do on their shows and other difference has to be a lot. Not sure how much thought went into it. If it was also supposed to have an emotional story why were emoji like sushi included anyway? I would have had no problem with people having the same emoji and interpteting it a different way

No I love how they talked about the challenge was to make something that you could eat with your hands, but then acted as if the story was the most important part.I didn't see Tom tell a story at all and if he did it was not a good one, and they said his was the hardest to eat with your hand but he's still there. ๐ Editing telegraphed the last three and one could have been Nicole based on the food but they liked her story better. I am ready for another double elimination.

Can someone tell me if the contestants get paid per episode? Thanks Did a deep dive on Victoire and she is pretty impressive. Not everyone can cook in this environment at their best but they all are very talented. She is also now working with Barilla on a food allergy awareness program. Trying not to get caught up in editing but I get the feeling some of the other chefs dont feel the best about her skills.

Along with Tom or Nichole but I think her story saved her. Dale, tom and victoire. She goes home

Charbel is winning today.

Random, but does anyone get the commercial with Greg Gourdet and want the enchiladas that he makes to clean the pan? She looks lost a lot. I wonder how long it takes her to translate what they say in her brain into what she needs to do? I can't take this quick fire seriously. How many molds did Budda bring in his kit?
-
A couple of people are getting the, "I'm going home edit." I love Gabri

It is the food network for sure. I knew before they cooked whom would be in the bottom.

I agree now that I know who he is, but when someone said he was only 25 or 26 I was very surprised! Why can't people appreciate a good Mustard Potato salad? I hate mayo, or really anything white and creamy. I had a great recipe that was delicious. Hmm, there are two kinds of people I've found who can afford help...those who are happy to have minority servants because they feel they should serve them, and those who think minorities are not even good enough to serve them.....

The problem was when they spoke about 5 star chefs making high end picnics and the photos they showed were all outside on blankets๐ Of course there are outside picnic tables! Personally I have the fancy basket etc but I am such a germ phobe that I make everyone too nervous when we sit on the ground worried about bugs etc. It is the table for me!! Charbel or Ali for me. Now that I know who he is I think he is solid. I have no issue with Dale. He and Mei are not the first team that did not work well together. Really hate how editing dictates how people feel. It is what I hate most about reality shows. And sadly they know what they are doing..another reason I am in and out on Top Chef.

I thought they cooked somewhere else and bought the food there but I wonder if they were allowed to spend any time in the house?
-
Eygpt verified they do not choose and it is down to the appraisers.. who were different people. Sad to see the number of people who yelled bias and a fix and said the win was to fit a "narrative." Including not having interesting shows anymore, especially gardening ones, I needed to be reminded why I stopped watching HGTV
-
Yes. And he had something on his mouth at one point. I noticed he tried to quarterback the planning.

Actually I am...and stay party appropriate and leave other things for different occasions. First to karaoke!!

EI have no issue with breastfeeding but this is a cooking show. Normalize things in appropriate spaces. There's no reason on Earth to mention that constantly ,the same with Amar's age, or Sylvia's potatoes. If Victoire were still talking about Italian racism it would be too much. ๐ Also I wonder how Nicole and others who cannot have kids or are trying to adopt feels watching Sarah constantly breastfeed something she can never do as many women cannot. Let's normalize not having biased judging against female chefs, chefs with ethnic food and having challenges that are not just fluff. The things related to a cooking show? They made a nod to it early on and it showed her dedication. Great. People do it every day and work. It is not special and is normal. Precisely why it doesn't need all these edits. A quick Internet search shows that picnics are pretty much the same all around the world. Sandwiches salads fruits wine cheese bread maybe cold meat unless you're doing barbecue style. Plain or fancy. This should never have been called a picnic. I would have liked for someone to throw in a picnic drink
-
I don't know why they are intent on the reminding us she's breastfeeding. Or why Amir thinks he is big papa at 40!!
-
I stand corrected. Charbel? I guess I confused him with Samuel

Do they still do restaurant wars? Nicole's triumph was totally foretold along with who would be in trouble. What was the reason Victoirie couldnt make what she wanted? Two fish? Then how do you choose? So glad Sara got to use the regional black walnuts she was so worried about not using due to Vs allergy. They must have gotten the go ahead. I am sure they made the total difference in her dish. At this point I am rooting for Ali. I always forget the french chef is there. No one stands out to me not even Budda. Love Gabri but I dont see "winner" there. Sylvia I thought had more to give but has disappointed. I did not want to eat one thing that was presented especially not at a picnic. Elevated or basic. Maybe Nicoles dish?
-
I do not understand on team challenges they dont taste each others food and avoid some of these critiques. No way after all that money none of them tasted Tom's dish to say it lacked acid. And why was the critique better for Budda in his face than it was when they discussed it alone?
-
That was a picnic? No blanket and no picnic tables๐
-
Well Sarah was the one complaining that she brought regional black walnuts in her kit so I guess she decided to go ahead

Yeah, she wanted a tub, and at a certain age a one story has it's appeal, but so does low maintenance and no yard work and not climbing into a tub. Lord knows what she went through. Always nice to see a good story instead of people bickering over staged nonsense! Would have loved to know more about the realtor! From homeless to selling homes!
-
I slept watched half of this. I did not realize the home had been flooded. She had a good story, I just remember thinking she seemed to be fragile, but with everything she went through I get it. I was thinking she didn't get the last one because it was at the top of the budget and she wanted to make changes to things. Also, that yard work adds up. Trust me, I fell for that with my first home alone, and ended up with all these trees whilst lovely needed to be maintained, and the yard and deck was massive. As her friend said, that added up quickly!! That tub was important to her. I couldn't guess ages, but I would have gotten the townhome and just drove to the dance studio! What if it relocates or closes?
