Wait, why has no one mentioned this before? We need to make a DEAN TULPA! Who's in? We'll get on this right a way. ROFL
-
I got to watch the gold panel video this morning. Just a couple of thoughts I had while watching. One, the questions were so much more intelligent than most of the J2 panels. Anyone who's been to one or more of these cons care to comment? I'm curious if you notice(d) a different audience dynamic, or do you think this was just a one off? It didn't look like the questions were screened, so what, if anything, do you think the difference was? I thought there were plenty of funny and humorous comments and stories, with none of the OTT stuff that seems to permeate the usual panels. Again, for those who have been, do you think it was a one off or maybe is everyone getting more serious as the end draws nigh? Anyway, this was definitely one of the best of the few panels I've been able to watch.
-
I watched that gold panel video this morning. I thought what Jensen said was brilliant. "big dumb friend" right there with one word, his opinion of Jared's actions. It was dumb. The handcuffs and the jumpsuits part, yeah, funny joke, but what's behind it? Maybe a little 'either quit being dumb or you'll need to get used to cuffs and everyone in orange jumpsuits'. What Jared said was good and neutral as I'm sure it has to be at this point. Saying thanks for the outpouring of support is to be expected, it would be decried as uncaring/rude if he didn't acknowledge that. Obviously he can't say anything else until the legal parts shake out. But here's hoping that dude is feeling some internal heat, being embarrassed about being so dumb, and about the example he's set for people who look up to him. Not just his own kids but the young fans who really don't need to see this kind of thing normalized. What DesiresRisked said about military life and bar life is all too true, but this is not something that is going to be normal for the majority of the tween and teen fangirls that are burning up SM with heart eyes right now. And they look like a majority of Jared's fans. And, like it or not, celebrities do need to be conscious of the image and examples they set for fans. Now where's the best place to discuss Jensen's wonderful gold panel?

SPN Eye Candy: Drooling Over The Actors And Characters
Cambion replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Supernatural
Check these out! They should have waited before casting Batman again....dude was born to play this role. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4SyLGCAX2C/ -
Just quickly because I'm late for something, but to all of you saying he needs a new therapist: Stop. Just stop. He could have the best g.d. therapist in the world but that therapist can't control what Jared does. If he's not listening to the help provided by this therapist and getting better that is on JARED! If anyone cares to hear more of my opinion on this say the word and I'll give you a paragraph or two more. But in the meantime, think about what you're saying. You're blaming the therapist when you suggest that he gets a new one, cause apparently EVERYBODY in his life is talking to a brick wall where the drinking is concerned because I can't effing believe that no one else, ever, said "hey, maybe you should slow your roll" to him.* A therapist doesn't have CONTROL over the patient and if he isn't going to listen to and do the work with one therapist, he's unlikely to with another. JARED needs to get his shit together on this stuff, because ultimately changing his behaviour is entirely up to him. And he has said as much when talking about his depression. So it's not like he doesn't know. Okay, more than I intended, I'm really late, and have no more to say. Sorry about this, but I've had enough therapists (good and not so good) over the years to know where the responsibility lies. And I'm sorry, but that attitude kinda pisses me off. (Maybe cause therapy has saved my life so I have respect for the process these professionals are prepared to guide people through when they are prepared to make the journey.) *See the raw ribs story. I don't care who you are, if you are drunk enough to eat a pan full of raw mat there should be more to your reaction than that 'those were a little chewy'.
-
What a bonehead move. I hope he learns something from this and takes control of himself. With depression as bad as he's discussed, he has no business drinking. In fact, he's lucky he's not dead from taking depression meds and alcohol together. I had to quit drinking because of my depression meds. (And my psychiatrist would bitch slap me if he knew I still had the occasional half a beer.) And that's not even accounting for the fact that alcohol is a depressant and is a terrible idea for people with depression as it is. The only thing that makes me sad about this is how it's going to impact the people he assaulted and everyone around him. He's a grown ass 37 yo man with a wife and 3 kids at home. There is no excuse for drinking until drunk af in a g.d. bar. If the show wasn't already over I'd have been expecting an announcement. I predict we won't be seeing him for a bit. Not until he has gotten his mea culpa down pat so he can repeat it precisely. I just hope he believes it as much as he'll expect us to believe it. And as for the SPN Family? In a real family this is the time for tough love and a frickin intervention, not 'oh poor you' and snuggles. And if he, or any of his people have a head on their shoulders, they will address that, too. Along the lines of it was my fault and I don't deserve your blind devotion in these circumstances because I f*cked the pooch, and I hurt (at least) 2 people by attacking them and I shamed the family.
-
Perhaps I am wrong, I don't know everyone's thoughts, but I think it's more an exaggeration based on the fact that I don't see how any of our complaints will have any effect on the writing. Since you all agree that it has been going for years -- which I can only understand after the fact as I'm only a little over a year into this fandom -- and nothing has changed, well, I've not given up, but I realistically have no expectations of change and will take what I can get and be happy for it. But then, that is the theme of my life and quite natural for me. Ah, I could go on, but I don't really want to hurt any ones feelings or get into any arguments. I just see things differently, and since I'm the noob, and I don't want to rock the boat. As for your second point, I want to reiterate something I said early on here. I get Dean because my life has many parallels to the character's. So, what I saw for him, was he had Cas' full attention and was taken seriously enough to warrant a reaction from him. That's a lot for someone who is just supposed to be there when needed; is always taken for granted; is ignored unless someone wants something from them; who's opinion and warnings aren't taken seriously only to ultimately be swept under the rug after proven correct....it's not about what you can say, it's about the fact that someone acknowledges your existence beyond what you can do for them. THAT is a Big Deal (tm). I see now that I must be reading too much of my own experiences in to the character. However, I do want to add: CASTIEL Good things do happen, Dean. DEAN Not in my experience. Probably the most telling thing Dean has ever said. Anyway, enough of the armchair (and hard fought and won through years of therapy) psychology. 😛 Good rest of the weekend!
-
Pretty much the same. They'll have had time to cool off and think rationally. Both Dean and Cas are raw nerves right now. They're not going to get on yet, but a couple of episodes - given the event timing so far - seems about right
-
I had to think about this episode a little bit. (I also had to think about the reactions to it I've been reading.) My first thoughts are that it was a good solid episode. Fight me! 😉 Rather than the wandering off point like the last two episodes they stayed on target. Put the shit together and got The Thing done. I'm not bothered by the old characters, i.e. Ketch, being brought back for his demise. Seriously, who didn't expect that would happen in the last season? If you didn't, or don't get it then I hate to break it to you, but you're seriously naive. So, this is going to happen, with regularity, we just have to deal with it. I like that Rowena has finally redeemed herself. Her whole character arc has been about that redemption. Contrast her initial episodes where she actively sought revenge on Crowley, then Dean and Sam, then she was only out for herself, pursuing power, to being forced to help Sam and Charlie 'save' Dean, to reluctantly helping, to actually enjoying being with the boys, to treating them her own sons (or as with Sam, as a Cougar, but I digress). And if that trip down memory lane isn't enough, consider her conversation with MememtoDean in Regarding Dean. She lays it all out there. Anyway, I like that she was able to give Sam an out as well. He wasn't killing her because she broke bad. He was killing her for 'the grreaterr guud". He will be able to get over that. Anyway, I like that they gave her a heroic ending. And, frankly, I half expect her to resurface as the Queen of Hell, but, you know.... Belphagor. Yup, knew there had to be an ulterior motive, and it was predictable, given the history of demons on this show, but enjoyable none the less. It also gave Cas a reason to take him out which we know he's been itching to do, but has too big a moral stick up his nether regions to do without proper provocation. Also, he completely trashed Jack's body. That I didn't expect, but perhaps now Cas can start to get over Jack. (I hope! Because I'm still not a big Jack fan, like, at all. So if we don't see him for a while, or ever, I'm down with that.) Sam, the god connection. Yeah, this is a little lame, however, it's not unexpected. If there's going to be anything like that, it will be Sam. And as tv shows go these things are replayed season after season. This is nothing new. If you know anything about the Star Trek universe, you know that every conceivable plot line has been done in each incarnation at least twice. That's just how it goes on long running show. And that's the way SPN has been. Did we really think that was going to change cause it's the last season? Okay, Dean. While he didn't DO a lot, He had a lot of good character moments. And, really, the way the tasks were split up this time was completely in character for each of them. Cas needed to go with Belphagor, he was the only one strong enough to stop him once Bel started sucking in the souls. He'd have chewed Dean up and spit him out if Dean had been there at that moment. And in Dean's mind, if you watch his expression when they were making plans, he was taking the 'dangerous' job because he would never allow anyone else to stand between him and the bad shit. So, really in character for him to take the job he perceived as the riskiest. So this time it didn't turn out to actually be the riskiest, but best laid plans and all that. I know some here would really like to see him be the big hero every week, hell, so would I, but that's not realistic. There are a lot of characters on this show these days and no one of them can have the spotlight all episode every week. So, Dean wasn't the action King this week. Cool. He did get some important things out. As for him enumerating his reasons to Cas, "it's only been a few days, you lied to me, etc". Do we really need to hear it? I don't. And we're all talking about those reasons so doesn't seem like the fans in general really need to hear it. Is Dean somebody who's gonna break down sobbing and throw things amid accusations of how Cas hurt him? No. Both he and Cas know what happened; they know each other well enough to know the score without writing it on the board. They don't need to scream it at each other. Would it be satisfying for the viewers? Maybe. But then we'd probably all complain that the writers were spoon feeding us, patronizing us. "Weeee knooooow," and we do. So, we can either have our cake or eat it, I guess. I will admit that at the end I was hoping Dean would reach out to Cas and not let him leave. Not so much for Cas' sake as for Dean's. He's just giving himself something to beat himself up with later, but that, too, is completely within character for him. Regrettable, because that would be an incredible growth point for the character, but in a time of super stress when all he wants to do is lash out and kill everything in sight, he's really not going to be doing much growing as a person. So, I can live with that. I dunno, I still think there's a lot of laziness on the part of the writers in a lot of ways. But sometimes I think they rely on viewers to read their minds. For instance, the ghosts being visible and able to run round in the day -- yeah it's creepier at night, but that's a Hollywood thing. If you've done any real paranormal research/ghost hunting you'll know that's not the only time, or even the best time, to hunt ghosts. " From Top 10 Paranormal Myths 2. Ghosts Only Come Out at Night There are a lot of reasons to ghost hunt at night: The world quiets down as the day fades away; some locations only let you enter after the close of daytime business hours; it is much creepier at night; and, most importantly, it’s the best time to play with your sweet night vision camera! But if you want to chase ghosts, you can just as effectively do it during the day, according to most paranormal researchers. In fact, it might even be a more effective time because that’s when the dead were probably most alive. " From: https://www.travelchannel.com/interests/haunted/articles/top-10-paranormal-myths So, yeah, perhaps that's what they were going for writing the episode, or to try to show that these were very powerful ghosts since they didn't need darkness, whatever the case. Because I personally don't know that it was intentional on the writer's part, but it still works, and I feel like I wasn't being spoon fed. I mean seriously, are their people who watch this show that aren't familiar with the paranormal beyond the canon? I mean really, because I haven't seen anyone who isn't. So, maybe they're giving us the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it's just lazy, I don't know. But I watch because it's entertaining to me and I choose not to spend my time being offended by everything. Sorry if I'm coming off as preachy, I don't mean to be telling anyone else what to think or feel. I'm just expressing my opinion. Because, truth be told, I was attracted to this board because of the in depth conversation about characters and plots, etc., but by the end of last season the negativity was really getting to me. That's why I took a break. I missed it and couldn't find anywhere else with as smart of people and conversations and if I have to run into any more slash fans I will puke. So I came back. But I kinda feel like everybody wants to pick the fly shit out of the pepper now that it's the last season. Dont get me wrong: You are absolutely entitled to do that! I will still read your posts and find them useful. I just want everyone to understand that I'm not here to blow sunshine up your skirts, I'm just not going to hold back on my positivity because of peer pressure. And I'm not saying the things I am to piss anyone off or anything else. I'm just going to be the one who see's things a bit differently and I hope you guys will be okay with that.

Putting together two and two and hoping it's not five: https://www.cinemablend.com/television/2482796/supernatural-boss-teases-a-version-of-dean-not-from-our-world Did Jensen direct the AU Dean episode? It would explain why he finished directing his episode THEN shaved off the beard. Guess we'll know in ten days, isn't his episode number four? Yoinked from a screenshot of last ride. Looks like a match on the shirt, too.

Re the mother and the car. She wasn't the woman from 14/20 who was bringing the cake in so I think the mom in 15/1 was a guest. So, it wasn't her car, she may not have known where the keys were -- I don't remember any keys as they ran through the house. And srsly, hardly anyone knows how to hotwire a car and the new cars with electronic ignitions are significantly harder to hotwire than the ones we usually see the boys do that on. If you think about it, every car I can think of them hotwiring was pre 1990s, before electronic ignitions, back when you just had to find the right two wires and twist them together. So, anyways, I think there's plenty of good irl reasons nobody tried to hotwire that car.

Yes, but then we're still stuck with Jack. So.....
-
Initial reaction, pretty good. Saw several weak spots, but all in all better than I expected -- although, for the record, I was expecting a hot mess of nothing, so the bar was exceedingly low. Anyway, only one watch, everything below is subject to change! So in no particular order. lol I agree with the above, DemonJack is infinitely better than real Jack and I actually enjoyed Alex's performance, so he can act. Not just stand around looking bland. The demon is Belphegor. " In demonology, Belphegor (or Beelphegor, Hebrew: בַּעַל-פְּעוֹר baʿal-pə[ġ]ʿōr - Lord of the Gap) is a demon, and one of the seven princes of Hell, who helps people make discoveries. He seduces people by suggesting to them ingenious inventions that will make them rich. Bishop and witch-hunter Peter Binsfeld believed that Belphegor tempts by means of laziness.[1] Also, according to Peter Binsfeld's Binsfeld's Classification of Demons, Belphegor is the chief demon of the deadly sin known as Sloth in Christian tradition.[2] " From Wikipedia. Soooooo, this could have some interesting repercussions. I liked that he said he'd be looking for another body cause I thought, good, no more Jack. But then I realized that would just open up the door for some miraculous Jack saving and thought better of it. I think BelphegorJack can stay, and not only because he's going to have three guilty, angry "Dads" constantly reminded of Jack, but because he's actually got a personality and is a little interesting. I don't find it too deus ex machina that Belphegor zeroed right in on the Winchesters. So that worked, a Prince of Hell would go right at them, if only to get some payback for the Princes and the other Deadly Sins they've put down. Provided of course he doesn't get too lazy. Dean worrying about starving to death? rofl. 🙂 Cas rubbing in the not needing to eat? Touche. I was a little confused by Lizzie Borden, I don't remember that they put the real actual Lizzie down. But maybe I'm wrong. Or she was just there by happenstance. Whatevs, that was fun, but threw me for a moment. The actor playing John Wayne Gacy was so good and creepy! I might even have to join Sam in his coulrophobia now cause geeeeeeeezzzzzzz. *shudder* The gun in the glove box will come back to haunt us later. Mark my words. haha Knock, knock. And why, oh why did they have Dean say, "it shouldn't have happened to him." over Jack's body? Bad show, wrong character for that sentiment at that time. It's not time for Dean to have those kind of feels yet. He's still in the beating-something-until-it-stops-moving phase. Also, didn't buy Dean saying "he's kinda our kid." Again, not time for him to be feeling that, if ever, IMO. Dean's reaction to Belphegor fanboying over him was good. Dean's not going to react in front of a stranger - especially a demon - in any way that would indicate a weakness. He was barely able to share his experience in Hell with Sam! So, the hesitation, the flicker across the eyes, Jensen nailed it. I liked all the shoutouts to the S1E1 especially at the very end with the "we got work to do" trunk shot. Dammit show! They took out my appendix, not my feels! Well, we're on the roller coaster now. There's no getting off until the end.

Yes, plus I loved the idea of the Judah Initiative and he would have been a good recurring character that I think they left untapped. (Because seriously, the Thule is just gonna let the guy who killed Hitler wander off scott free, hah!)

But wasn't the spell Lily gave him using up the power of his soul to keep him alive because his grace was gone? So, when both were gone he was dead. That's why he died and they brought her in to help anyway, remember, Cas went and got Jack's soul in heaven to put it back in his body for the few seconds she needed to enact the spell and bring him back to life. That's why I don't get that he's still alive. He was without both and died pretty quickly. Cas held his soul in his body only a few seconds and then the spell using his soul power was what was keeping him alive, so without that, it was a dead body.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Cambion replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Eugenie was used to writing for a show which was just episodic drivel. If she could not be bothered fo adapt then she should not have been gired and she should not have been promoted. Which, if you look in the dictionary, is the definition of nepotism. -
Plus, if Jack was using his soul power to use powers to kill Michael, he should have had no soul left and died when Michael did. Because then he had neither grace or soul at that moment. IIRC didn't Lily say if he use it all up he would go right away? So, if he still had enough soul left to not die then, he is NOT soulless and wouldn't be acting like he is. (Which I totally don't think he's acting any different than he really ever has. But YMMV.) He wasn't soulless when he killed the snake. And killing Mary wasn't a conscious act, he over reacted and killed her without thinking. And the whole has no remorse thing about that seemed more like peer pressure 'Sam and Dean won't like me anymore, waaaaah'. Of course, I could be misremembering and talking out of my A$$, but that means I'd have to watch those episodes again, and I can't even.....

I wonder if 1501 will be called "killing evil s.o.b.s" .

IA. It annoys me, too, and not just for my pagan gods. While angels being dicks with wings is amusing, it really does dig at deep seated beliefs that most of us have. Again, my apologies for writing when my brain wasn't fully on because I didn't actually get out what I mean: I just choose not to find insult in it because I'd rather pick my battles. And being insulted because what someone thinks it's good story material to bash on something people keep close to their hearts is not an intentional insult in my mind. i.e. I don't get offended by other shows characterizing geeks/nerds as one dimensional mouth breathers who live in their parent's basement, (Even though, at one point, that was totally me) because it's a waste of my time and precious energy to be offended. Also, there is totally a part of me who doesn't have a real emotional investment in the god of Abraham anymore, so of course that will bother me less, and since season after season has bashed xtianity in one way or another, the isolated episodes about older gods have less impact. Well, unless you figure in that S and D have pretty much killed all of them and Chuck is still kicking, but I digress. You are totally good to be annoyed and/or offended and I empathize with you. I also would be happier without God and with it being just angels versus demons. I think it would be more interesting if God was totally hands off. At least, I think, there's some different story potential there that is more interesting than Chuck snapping his fingers and lying about stuff he doesn't want to do in order to see his monkeys dance. For a while there it was kinda like the demons were actually more helpful than the angels and I thought that was a fun juxtaposition, but now, it's like there are no good forces, no cavalry that humans can depend on, everybody is a dick on all sides. Or, to put it in real life terms, everybody is more worried about themselves than anyone else. Well, except for Dean, and somebody needs to slap that boy upside the head. 🙂

Um, this is why I shouldn't write posts in the middle of the night during insomnia. I don't think my I love that about Sam comment was understood the way I meant it. I didn't mean that it made me him all sweet and cute or whatevs, but rather, as he seems to respect intellectualism ( all the school tropes, getting a nearly perfect lsat score etc) it's a great, and very human, flaw for him to have. I like characters that are like real people, and these two are. I also love a lot of Dean's flaws, because they make him human. With Jensen's good looks and the way that Dean is so good at playing the hero, not knowing that he sings karaoke so badly and eats like a grade schooler and plays the same 5 albums over and over and over makes him too 2-D and stereo typical alpha male. So, I love that Sam has such a human flaw. He doesn't do it unless it serves him, as ya'll pointed out, but that's pretty true to life, too, ya know? And people IRL that you know like that, I'm sure you will find act the same way. Anyway, I love the characters, I don't always love everything they do. And just to round out my opinion, Sam not liking Benny had absolutely nothing to do with Benny. It had to do with Dean killed Amy and Sam wanted to get some payback. Dean took Sam's friend, so Sam wanted to take his. Plus, he was feeling all kinds of guilty because he didn't look for Dean and now Dean had someone he was close to who very well could have replaced Sam. Like someone said in another thread. Sam needs Dean, but doesn't want him, and Dean wants Sam but doesn't need him. There was also a parable about loyalty there, too, (not intentional I'm sure): Sam gives loyalty when it is demanded of him, Dean gives it freely out of respect. Again, that's not a Sam bad, Dean good equation, it's just how some people are. And Dean will always put his family first -- including the not blood ones he finds -- no matter how much they beat him down. That's what draws me to that character, I understand that. I've lived it and am still living that kind of "family" life. Anyway, good observations you guys, but I did want to clarify because I sorta felt like you thought I was being dumb. And nope, just too tired to think straight. 🙂

So, I watched this episode 3 times today. I just had to keep going back to try to figure some things out. i'm probably going to have to watch it a few more times to actually get it all, but after just spending hours reading the posts here (I waited until after my rewatch) I just have a couple of things to mention in an effort to help solidify my thoughts. I like the beginning, the not lying bit was great, and by the second time I was chanting along with some of the characters "I hate everyone" "I'm the stapler Queen." etc. It was nice, after all the over dramatic high school angst of some of the last episodes (I rewatched all of s14 in the last few days) to have a little bit of humor. That is one of the good things from earlier seasons that I think has fallen by the wayside and it was nice to have some good humor again. (forgot to add, and how this went down is totally Jack who doesn't get ANYTHING because everybody forgets he's 2 going on 20 and should never be left unsupervised. ) I also applauded Sam (or anyone for that matter) remembering that Dean is, in fact, a geek. A speech I actually expected back in Mint Condition, but, you know, whatevs. I loved that Dean smashed the guitar. He is so done with Chuck playing with their lives and everyone else's, but mostly in the "where were you when..." way. Sam is still talking to Chuck about it, which is totally Sam. So perfect characterizations of both brothers, IMO; Sam wants to think it out, Dean wants to give the situation a slap upside the head. Also, I think he realized that Chuck was going to enjoy concertizing for them and simply wanted to deny him that because he's just so done with Chuck. So huzzah for finally seeing some core characterizations for the boys. I noticed the Dean in the corner bit, and he had to tell Sam hey over here. Whether intentional or not (probably not) another great characterization of their usual positions. Dean makes the hard decision then tries to bring Sam around to see his point of view (see him in the corner) and they discuss it. So that really worked for me. The gun -- totally saw that one coming as being a two way street. I'm not overly surprised with Chuck being "evil" (although I don't think he is evil, per se, but more on that in a minute). He has, since "the Monster at the End of this Book" characterized himself as being cruel and capricious and everything he's done since then show it. So that the gun would take out both Jack and the shooter, Yahtzee! He said it, "I burned Jess for the sake of literary symmetry." Of course he did. it's all about seeing how hard he can make things and will the people he presses push through or not. sideline I'll be quick. I was brought up in a xtian religion and whenever something bad happened to someone the answer was that "god is testing you". You know, god only gives you as much as you can handle, you just wish he didn't trust you so much. I never had much respect for that -- or a few other things in the xtian cosmology - which is why I now worship old gods who, frankly, have been bashed on this show, too, so I feel your pain for the xtians among you feeling that making god evil is somewhat offensive. But I ignore it because there's no reason to take this kind of thing personally, JMHO, it's a story, not an insult. Okay, so, if god is testing good people, or even simply stands back and lets bad things happen to good people then what we're seeing Chuck do is a logical culmination. Now, do I think the writers got there knowingly and on purpose? No, I do not. I think they're going for the shock. Over the past month or so, I've rewatched from the pilot and tried to pay attention to which writer penned my favorite episodes (and the ones I least like and frankly skip over, or have so much Nickifer that I have to fast forward to the good parts, and I'm OCD so that is PAINFUL for me! My OCD is screaming that I must watch every. single. second.). To my surprise a number of the favorite ones were written by Dabb. Most of those with another writer but a couple on his own. Not to say he's good, because my assessment of him is that if he still lived in the same city as his parents he'd be inhabiting their basement hollaring up the stairs for mom to nuke him a hotpocket every so often. He's lazy. And when he had a show runner who pushed him, and guided him, he was able to do the job. But know he's the boss so it's lowest common denominator and laziness and mom where's my hot pocket! I'm not saying anyone here is bad, but I honestly think you're giving him more credit than he deserves in some ways. I think he's too lazy, and on the stupid side and doesn't really put as much effort into making nefarious plans as y'all might give him credit for. Which -- as he is now the Chuck of the story -- fits. Chuck is having a tantrum, cause that's how Dabb operates. Somebody says or does something and he has a tantrum and writes everybody into a hole. Then he visits tumblr or his twitter feed and the sycophants prop up his ego and he tries to write everyone out of the hole. Problem is, he's not very good at it because writing a show means you have to make plans and you have to remember things and you should consult your show bible (and why the flying purple f*ck don't they have one for this show, is what I wanna know!) and that is all too much work for him and where the f*ck is that hot pocket Mooooooommmm! Am I making excuses for him? No. Am I defending him? Hell no. I just think he considers people hating on him as an ego prop too because he perceives it as power to make people react and I won't give him the satisfaction. Mostly because I loathe the Voluntarily Stupid and I think he's demonstrated that in ample measure. So, anyway, I didn't keep it real short sorry, I think we'll see a poorly written way out of the tantrum hole for both Chuck and Dabb. So, not super high hopes for next season. So, I'll plan to be very disappointed and perhaps there will be some places where I'll be pleasantly surprised. 🙂 Okay, so, I think that Dean ultimately didn't shoot Jack because he heard Sam ask Chuck if he was enjoying this. And in true Dean fashion, did the exact opposite because he will never ever ever give anyone the satisfaction of manipulating him. Also why getting mom back was no hook. A) he'd be dead, so what would be the point, that's no prize for him, and B) NONONONONO his mom was NOT his hero. And whoever wrote that for him to say should be drawn and quartered. His dad was his hero. Duh. (Again Dabb shows us that he doesn't actually watch the show he writes for. I told ya, lazy.) Sam shooting Chuck - finally Sam as realized that words will no longer cut it. Sam is also an excellent shot. He did not miss. I think he hit Chuck exactly where he was aiming. I think A) Sam didn't want to die and B) that was a great way to get Chuck's attention. His miscalculation was in thinking that Chuck was an adult --Sam's been giving Chuck a little too much credit, but since the beginning of the angels/god thing he's been a little in awe and I very willingly give him a pass because that desire to always see the good in everyone is one of the things I love most about Sam. Chuck is a toddler, I think someone mentioned the Star Trek episode about the parent coming after the "god" and scolding him for breaking his toys. Bingo! That's how he's acting. I doubt we'll see that kind of SL play out, but that's how he's acting. And the bits people have been saying about the end, where are the numerous weapons they've always got, ditto, why didn't they high tail it to the cars instead of standing there watching zombie after zombie popping out of the ground. I mean, come on, none of them are idiots and they couldn't see that was a Bad Idea (tm)? (Well, or they need bungees, but now I'm just getting silly and have written too much.) So, at this point I give it about a C but I could go either way after a couple more rewatches. Also, I know Jack took Michaels grace, but before he could do that he should have dropped dead from using up his own soul. You know the one that was keeping him alive. *smh* I know, I know, LOLcanon. Go to sleep Cambion, it's 4 o'clock in the morning. lol
