  1. At that point I'd put on Twister Sister videos and play them LOUDLY. If I have to listen to their crappy music then they can listen to mine.
  2. I have a new granddaughter!!! My son called me at 2:45 am yesterday (29th) to let me know that Emily Rose had arrived, healthy and beautiful. She looks just like my son. Also, I sold my car for $300. The repairs were over $2,500 and there was no way I could afford that, plus the car is 22 years old and not worth that. My goal this week is to file state & fed taxes b/c I'm getting about $250-300 from each. That will get me a good enough down payment to buy a new used car and keep the payments low.
  3. To Amy's credit, I don't think she's deleting or blocking people who disagree with her. I replied a couple of times to her Twitter post about this and we're still Twitter friends. OMG, I stumbled upon Backwoods Barbie's YouTube channel and she's kinda crazy.
  4. Every wedding I've gone to in the past 15 years have been for couples who are already living together or have been living independently from their parents for years. Technically, they didn't need a shower or wedding presents b/c they were already set up in their households, but I bring the presents anyway because I love wedding pair. For second babies I usually give diapers and wipes because those are always needed.
  5. I think Joy has a more satisfying life than Jessa or Jinger. She has a real childhood friend who she is still friends with, she gets to do the tomboy thing with Austin, and now she has the Real Housewives of Mediccorps for socialization. Plus, her husband seems to be very involved with her and their children.
  6. Yes, and you haven't lived until you've woken up in the middle of the night with your braid under your back so far that your head is tilted back and just rolling over to get it free almost strangles you. 😁
  7. At least his years in school haven't been a complete waste. 😎
  8. He's probably trying to calculate how long he has to be stuck with these clowns down to the millisecond. 2 thoughts: either it didn't reveal anything and they don't want to admit these seizures are due to stress, extreme dieting, or having to actually parent her own kids. OR, like me, the results haven't been released to her doctor, yet. I had an EEG almost 3 weeks ago and nobody seems to know where it is or what it says.
  9. I need a vacation! Anyone want to contribute to my gotome fund for a three day stay at Jill's Drury Inn for me? I live in Idaho, so I'll have to grift some airfare and food money, too.
  10. I actually envy Jessa's hair. I wore mine long, down to my butt long, for about 20 years. It was very thick and wavy, but it was also very, very fine and knotted like a pine tree. Plus, after taking a 1/2 hour to an hour to comb out the knots, I had to slather it in product or it would frizz.
  11. It is also less feminine to be tall. Poor Jenni can't win because her natural body doesn't fit Gothard's ideal.
  12. I have had to do it twice, once for surgery and once for a standard colonoscopy, both times at home. I knew the prep stuff would make me through throw up so 3 days before I ate just soup & fruits/vegetables with high water contents. 2 days before I switched to low sodium broth & V-8 juice and then a clear liquid diet the day before the procedures. This ensured that there was little to no solids in my digestive system so while I drank as much as I could of the prep stuff, I stopped before I threw up.
  13. Yes, she and her husband is a million times worse. They are who the Rod parents follow instead of Gothard. I bet the Rod girls all have a submissive spirit. 😭
  14. Jenni is still under Gothard's JB & Michelle's rules about girl's wearing pants. In a few years she'll get married and her husband may give her permission to wear pants.
  15. Abusive parents who also starve their children isn't uncommon and it hurts that this is being done out in the open. These kids go into churches and listen to their parents being praised for raising them right. Those people should be calling the CPS hotline and reporting them. If we can see how malnourished they are in pictures, how much worse must they look in real life?
  16. I'm with you on the birthday cake. My late husband use to make me a sour cream white cake with sour cream fudge as the frosting which is divine, but that's pretty much the only cake I've ever liked. Since he passed I usually have cherry cheesecake or berry pie for my birthday dessert. And no candles because it takes 3 boxes and sets off the smoke alarm.
  17. So their next gym photo op will include someone to use a spray bottle of water to make it look like they've just finished working out like real men.
  18. I think without the TV show the girls would have been married off as soon as possible and the boys would have been given close to the same JB jobs, but working for free and working hard. Oh, and the Family Felon would have been given the same prince privileges with less oversight.
  19. I think having an ice cream sundae buffet instead of a wedding cake is a great idea. Unless you're holding the reception in the parking lot in November. As for the children's birthdays, it's not that she doesn't serve cake or wrap presents, it's that she doesn't do anything festive. I think the donut with the big candle smashed into it was probably the best 'birthday cake' served. The one year the cake was ice cream it was a rock solid container that had been in the freezer forever. Nothing Jessa does suggests she takes anyone else's feelings/needs/wants when making plans.
  20. If the library has onsite eating, then the rules for free lunches are that all food must be eaten by the child at the facility. If it's sack lunches that they take home then the kids are probably lucky if they get 1/2 or 1/4 of the sandwich and a small wedge of apple or orange.
  21. Can I join you on the couch? I have a large bottle of blackberry Merlot in my fridge that tastes awesome and was under $10. 😁 From now on I'm referring to their medic grift as MedicCrap. It just fits.
  22. I don't have a problem with people only allowing their girls to wear dresses and I don't have an issue with shopping used/free clothing stores for children's clothes. But these little girls are almost never in clothes that fit, look nice, and/or are appropriate for what they're doing. That can be done even with used clothes. It makes me want to whisk them away to a children's clothing store for a closet full of pretty dresses...then to the pediatrician for a real check-up, to the grocery store for a cart full of healthy proteins, veggies, and fruit, then to a small private school to enroll them in a educational setting that is sensitive to their current social skill set along with a solid learning program. This is list could go on & on.
  23. I would be amazed if Jessa hasn't been depressed since she was 12-13. The things Jessa posts are mostly dull and half-assed and she's probably posting the highlights or scripting what she thinks would be interesting. If her post are the best of her life, then the rest of her life that we don't see probably totally sucks. Of course, I could be projecting since I've had problems coping with depression and anxiety since I was 5 or 6 and almost nobody around me has ever really been aware of it.
