I was 16 the first time an ENT doctor recommended I try hearing aides. Since my step-father refused to spend any more money on me than absolutely necessary, that didn't happen. As a young adult, the high prices kept me from getting them. It wasn't until I was 50 that I finally broke down and got them. I had birds in the trees around my apartment and never knew it. Their chirping was so beautiful. I also realized that the only reason my kids survived to adulthood is because I couldn't hear them during their teen years. I order from Temu a lot because I'm part magpie and like shiny stuff. I've had good luck with their shirts, other than everything is polyester. It's hit or miss with toys and gadgets, though. I check the size of anything I buy where size might matter because they'll show a picture of someone holding something normal size and when it comes it's smaller than a matchbox.

I got to spend an extended weekend in Las Vegas. My dad's 80th birthday is this month and my brothers gifted me a plane ticket! My grandson spent the 5 days with his mother and both of them were glad for me to come home. It was great to recharge my batteries and hear childhood stories from my dad and my aunt. One of my brothers is an assistant pastor (or something like that) at a Unity church in Las Vegas. It was my first time attending a Unity service and while I'm mostly an atheist, it was a nice service.

She cannot parent Dax, there is no way she's going to be able to homeschool him.

So, who had "Jinger wearing ripped jeans, sneakers, and a tank top" on the "What Will the Duggar Kids Wear When They Grow Up?" bingo card?

Jesiah, Isaiah, and Moriah are biblical names, a lot of which end in "iah", like Jeremiah, Jedidiah, and Josiah. Not that the Caldwell parents aren't also too lazy to think up unique names for their quiverful of ego boosters.

My grandson has been living with me for the last 3 weeks. It was only supposed to be for the summer b/c my daughter has an open CPS investagation, but when we visited this weekend she asked me to file for permanent guardianship. She has finally realized that both kids together are too much for her. Since I live in a different state, once the judge here gives me guardianship, there isn't anything her caseworker can do. It's wonderful that he is here. My depression has lifted, a lot, but OMG I'm tired! He is 12, on the autism spectrum, has ADHD, ODD, and is mentally/emotionally 7-10. I'm working very hard to use gentle parenting, while still enforcing rules and boundaries. He is very cooperative and helpful when approached in a respectful manner. He also responds well to "You may choose to (do what I want) and (do what you want) or you may choose not to (do what I want) and not (do what you want). I say "yes" more than "no", don't require instant obedience, and listen to what he says, adjusting my requests to accomodate his concerns when they're valid. Since I played the "Obey" game with my kids, this does not come natural to me, but the results are very promising. ☺️

If you put the speed at 1.5 it's not too bad. Gunner is a very cute baby. Too bad he's going to be homeschooled by Joy.

Jeeves, I hope you feel bright as a new penny without any extra airplane germs today. I'm glad your vacation was fun.

The fundamentals equate exposing with brainwashing. Showing LGBTQ+ in a positive light is brainwashing because their children might stop believing that everybody who does not believe in their god/jesus is going to burn in everlasting hellfire.

The 2014 contract was for 5 years. Jill & Derick stopped appearing in 2017. My guess is that was when the show went from "Jill & Jessa, Counting On" to just "Counting On" a new contract was written and that's when Jinger & Jeremy went off on their own. Jill & Derick seemed willing to sign until they found out it was forever. If they had realized they could have signed with TLC for a set time and not with JB, they probably would have stuck with the show.

This has been a horrible weekend. 2 weeks ago my daughter asked me to take guardianship of my grandson, 12, because she could not control his behavior. He has ASD, ADHD, ODD, PTSD, and developmental delays. Last week she was taling about what toys to take this weekend and what to keep. I arrived Friday and she told me it was only for the summer, then Saturday her new boyfriend whom she met online showed up and starting lecturing my grandson for 20 minutes for not answering my phone when my daughter called. I objected when he started in on 'all I've done for you' since he's been around less that two weeks and he stormed out of the house. My daughter took him home and texted me that they decided it would be too disruptive for my grandson to stay with me. Her plan was for me to stay the night and leave in the morning before the kids woke up, so they didn't get upset. Instead, when she got back I told the kids that mom and the boyfriend decided not to let grandson come home with me, so I was going to go ahead and leave. Both kids started crying and grandson was begging me to not leave him there. Things were bad. Especially at the end when I pointed out the the last 4 boyfriends had beat her kids and asked when this one would start abusing them. Cheap shot, but my granddaughter had just told me he yells at my grandson and calls him names. I reminded both kids to tell their teachers if he hits them and to remember no matter what anyone says, I love them and want them very much. And when I left both kids were running after my car crying and screaming. I cried most of the 3 hour trip home and have been having 2 minute panic attacks, where my heart races and I can't catch my breath, since 4 am this morning.

I think he looks like Jim Bob. He has JB's hundred-yard stare down pat.
