Someone may have already pointed this out, but for Marion living on the Upper (East?) Side, traveling to Brooklyn would be a serious journey, hardly "in the neighborhood." Peggy's family also would expect the same courtesy of a visitor as Agnes does; someone who is not familiar to them would not just drop in. I wonder how Marion made such a long trip alone without Agnes knowing.

I have a lot of friends who collect their wine corks.Some glue them in a frame to make a bulletin board. But one couple had their son make them a wood and glass end table with an opening in which they drop their corks. Last I saw them, it was pretty damn full!

Funny so many people here did not like the period/tampon plot, but it has generated so many comments😉, many quite personal!

Of the five of those I've seen, four are an hour long, so twice as much time to fill. I think the problem with the added characters is most of them don't seem connected with the main story. Or at least the story we expected. Just my thoughts, not trying to argue.

Those were on network tv back in the day when a season wasn't 10 episodes. Friends had 24 - 25 episodes per season, so extra characters were kind of needed to provide enough material.

I don't like British royalty so never watched Downton Abbey. Perhaps because of not having that to compare The Gilded Age with, I am enjoying this so far. An earlier post mentioned Jeanne Tripplehorn. I remember her from Big Love, but did not recognize her here. What character does she play? IMDB shows her in all 10 eps, but does not give her character name, unlike for her other roles, and the HBO cast list doesn't give her character name either.

I nearly threw up when Randall was groveling to Deja, hoping she could be patient with him while he adjusted to her growing up. No wonder she us such a spoiled, entitled, unappreciative brat. The fact she has chosen to be sexually active is one thing, but lying and sneaking off to Boston to get laid is not something for her parents to "adjust" to. Her losing their trust is serious and should be the focus of his conversation. I didn't know phones now played your texts while you drive. The same thing happened last week on the Sex&theCity reboot.
