  1. Ooops, Caroline, right. I forgot she was the 3 sibs mother, and Marcia was later. Thanks. But Caroline only had the 3 kids, not four.
  2. I have only now begun to wonder how old Conner was when his mother was committed, and who raised him. Did Marcia raise him? A nanny? His mother's relatives? Boarding school? It does not matter by now, but all this discussion of Conner has made me wonder.
  3. I was not familiar with those two movies, but having read how they turned out, I will be majorly pissed if that is the resolution of this series!!!
  4. Although I will miss this show greatly, I am glad it is ending now because it looks like Warner/Disney+ is determined to bring HBO down to a lower level. I guess HBO will still exist on cable, but on streaming it is just Max and mushed in with old comedies, home and garden shows, and kiddie programs. HBO's staff and budget have been cut, and I see no sign that the quality of shows that made HBO special in the past matters to the current overlords. But I am going to hate saying farewell to the Roys et al next Sunday!!!
  5. That implies that she packed several journals to take for their several-day trip. That seems highly unlikely.
  6. I didn’t understand that. Marcia has never been shown to be warm and loving. What’s in it for her to show a modicum of human kindness now? She’s consistently been shown to be a cold, vindictive and dispassionately focused on her own interests. That is, a good fit for the Roys. I agree, this rang false to me. Just a few days ago she tossed Kerry and her few things out to have a taxi drop her at the subway. Now she is treating her like a special friend. Made no sense. But someone earlier said that Sally Anne (?), one of Logan's mistresses when married to Caroline, was played by Brian Cox's wife, so maybe the whole thing was just a setup for her to appear. I think Jesse A could have found a better bit for her cameo.
  7. One of the most intense and gripping hours of television I have ever seen.
  8. I see lots of references to "Cabin Daddy." Was this ever said in the show? Did the writers use the term in a podcast or interview? Or did the name come from Reddit or another fan site?
  9. Random thoughts: I really disliked Misty's musical hallucination or whatever you want to call it. WTF?!!! I was glad Misty stopped the coach from killing himself, but doubt that he will survive much longer. I also find it hard to believe that Nat is truly buying into Lottie's program, but don't know why she is acting like she does. Shauna burying her baby under the rocks broke my heart. I am not much of a fan of most of the present-day story. Like I said, random....
  10. Apropos of nothing much, I think Willa would be a great mom. I don't recall any discussion about her interest in having children or not, but she seems much more suited for motherhood than Shiv.
  11. What difference would his campaigning have now, or his dropping out? Isn't the election tomorrow? A huge number of people have already voted, and the rest aren't breathlessly waiting to see if Conner is still running before they vote.
  12. The ending really shook me, I was in tears.
  13. A scenario that I have been considering is Shiv and Tom taking over together. Tom knows the business end of things; Shiv doesn't know the workings of the business but is smart, and has dealt effectively with the world outside the Waystar bubble. Kendall is so unfocused, and Roman seems on the verge of a breakdown. Shiv and Tom could be a power couple, despite their toxic relationship.
  14. We have never seen any indication she wants a child either. Although maybe since her mom told her she was not cut out to be a mother, she might want to have a child just to spite her. We shall see!
  15. But this is HBO. They don't have the restraints of non-cable shows. And did "Maude" have an abortion? It was decades ago, so I'm not sure. ETA: Yes, in 1972, the 47-y-o character Maude chose to have an abortion. If Norman Lear could do it in 1972 on CBS, Jesse Armstrong can do it on HBO in 2023.
  16. I'm sure that is true for many people, but for some the deep grief is because they have lost the chance of ever having the relationship that they tried so hard to have.
  17. or, option 3: she has an abortion. To me, that is the most realistic, least soap-operaish decision for Shiv.
  18. I mostly agree. this was the first episode I can recall when I checked the time to see how much longer it would go on. But I thought the last several minutes, Kendall's presentation, was well done. Unlike others, I enjoyed Shiv and Tom. Their relationship is a toxic nightmare, but I enjoy watching it. I keep wondering when/how he will learn about the baby. I am not sure she will keep it.
  19. No new episode this weekend? Why???? Please tell me they are not taking an extended break!!!
  20. If I wanted to watch a show with untranslated skits and songs, I would watch Telemundo.
  21. You know there is a small chance that Conner will not win the election -- 😉😉😂😂 -- so they will be free to visit more exciting destinations after November.
  22. Maybe one of her parents was originally from Canada, or she took a lot of French classes in high school.
  23. Conner was talking about putting another $100 million into his campaign, and Willa made sure to verify that he would still be rich. I assume he hasn't had time to spend that money on his campaign yet, what with the wedding and Logan's death, but even if he did, he can still afford the house, if he does go through with buying it. Also, presumably he will inherit money in Logan's will.
  24. She was pregnant during filming--baby due next month. I think that explains the jackets. But I don't know she is dressed in neutrals all the time.
