  1. For years, Sharon used to be one of my favorite characters. I can barely stand her now. I don't think it's the pseudo-brotherly love. It's more her whining/whinging and these sloppy storylines she's been in, I think. I'm ready for her to head back to the US to stay with Michelle or something.
  2. I'm still finding it hard to understand why Littlefinger dropped the necklace into the boat with Dontas' corpse for the Lannisters to find. It clearly points the finger at Sansa, someone who he seems to really want to protect for whatever squicky reason. Toss that necklace a few feet further out and there's a lot more mystery.
  3. Bronn didn't necessarily lie to Tyrion. He put Shae on the ship and watched it pull out of the harbor. It could have been intercepted anytime after that.
  4. Zoe was absolutely on the mark with Kat, too. So, now we have Kat with a nugget of knowledge that's she's going to keep following up on until it finally comes out. I hope Dennis and Sharon's stay is brief. I know they aren't blood kin, but their relationship squicks me out all the same.
  5. How? She was hiding up in the Aerie breastfeeding Robin while Jon Arryn was down in Kings Landing being the Hand of the King. Or did she run to the Aerie after he died?
  6. It has to come out soon. I think that's what the scene between Billy Mitchell and Alfie in the pub was about. Billy's still a wee bit p.o.'ed and he's going to let it slip sooner rather than later.
  7. Anyone with half a brain would start their search there. Sansa has two known living adult relatives: Crazy Auntie Lyssa and Jon Snow. Of the two, it makes more sense that she's run to her Aunt. It's a shorter trip and it's not a fortress full of men who think women have cooties.
  8. It was a pig's foot/trotter. Remember that Craster and his wives/daughters raised and ate pigs.
  9. So, Zoey may or may not be going to Ibiza tomorrow or next week. Chrissie's assessment is was right. Zoey is, and always has been, a victim. That's what makes her boring. My favorite scene of the week was Cat and Little Mo packing Zoey's bags. I loved the sisterly feel and the backstory was interesting and well done.
  10. My first thought was that the garden has ears. Haven't they made a lot of references over the seasons to spies being everywhere?
  11. You're absolutely right. It's very hard to get clean. It's also something best done out of the glare of the spot light. Both of those young men could use some time away from the show. I don't have any issue with either song, but honestly, I usually set the show to take and start watching it about 15 min late so I can zap the intro and commercials.
  12. It's because many people, including me, loved Phil. They count on us loving his worthless sons. I swear I don't get the Jake worship. He's profoundly lazy and is working for the cameras. Jake A is a much more interesting person, even if he is moping around because he has to live with the outcomes of his previous decision.
  13. I don't recall anyone specifically calling it a crab boat. It had a lot of floats along the side (as much as you could see through the smoke and flames). Those are more indicative of a long liner.
  14. So, Dot's driving instructor hit on her. It was telegraphed a mile away, but it's still sort of fun to see Dot and Jim's relationship get a little harmless tweak now and again. Johnnie really seems to be serious about going legit. I think he should have fired those two guys regardless, though. They're not exactly the most competent of assistants. Zoey, tell Cat or don't tell her. This is dragging on way too long.
  15. That was a good season premier. We got to see a slice of the real world business of fishing and the impacts of the government furlough. I really liked the new Cajun greenhorn, too. He's not a newbie idiot (like the guy last year). He has real commercial fishing experience, but in a very different fishery. Watching him working to fit it and responding to the rigors of the red crab fishing was interesting. I'm surprised he didn't know enough to eat and drink water regularly, though. The Time Bandit guys are back in their stride. Freddie is back to being an eccentric hard ass who can out work anyone, not the mean psycho we saw last year. Junior was painful to watch. I wonder why he didn't have the other guy run the ship right away. I guess he was hoping he'd feel better after some sleep. He's going to have a long and painful season. It was stupid of him to go to sea rather than have that surgery. A huge plus for premier: Not a single sign of Jake and Josh. Those guys need some time away from the cameras to work out their lives.
  16. I watched it again and agree with you. It was rape. The first time I saw the scene I was so totally repelled that ALL the nasty details weren't sinking in. Why the heck did they do the scene that way? I really thought Jaimie was on a redemption arc.
  17. The scene with Twyin, Tommen, and Cersea over Joffrey's corpse was amazing. Twyin told Cersea, without saying out loud, that Joffrey was HER king whom she screwed it up and that Tommen is HIS king and he's going to do it right. I really, really didn't get the Cersea and Jaime scene. Was that their "break up"? Was that rape? The only think I know for sure is that it was skeevy as heck. I think Davos is trying to convince the Iron Bank to call in some of King's Landing's loans, which would undermine Twyin's ability to fight back against Stannis' troops even if his army isn't huge. It will also cause Twyin to stress his relationships with other houses such as the Tyrells' when he has to hit them up for money, yet again. It seems like a very clever move. I agree with folks who are wondering when Dany will finally finish wandering around Esteros. I think that she and the White Walkers are the long play threats to Westeros. We'll see a bunch more fighting and maneuvering among the various houses and kings, then as things are seeming to reach some kind of point, they'll have major attacks from both the north and south/east. Caught between ice and fire. I'm curious about what's being set up at Castle Black. You have the Night Watch, or what's left of them, hunkering down in the Castle (why aren't they sending out ravens asking for reinforcements, btw?). Then you have wildlings coming from at least two directions. Then, there's Roose Bolton's bannermen headed up there to grab a male Stark heir or bastard, anyone will do really. Will the Bolton group run into the cannibal wildlings first or make it to either where Bran is or the Castle first? And speaking of Bran, are we going to see the wildling lady who used to take care of Bran? I wonder if she'll pop up again when someone, say Bolton's men, threaten Bran.
  18. That was my thought, as well. It's be a lovely ending, but the writers won't let things sit like that. They've been turning Pauline sort of psycho, so this has to come around again. So, did Dot push Johnny on to the straight and narrow? Maybe straight and narrow-ish. I can't imagine that he'd give up the power of his connections. I could see him moving more toward his legitimate business activities, which seem to be increasing in proportion anyway.
  19. I think Lady Olenna is a prime suspect, but not Margaery. Remember that when Robert was killed, the crown passed to his son not his wife. Cersea was Queen Regent because her son was underaged. She wasn't the ruler in her own right. Margaery will have a title but the crown passes to the next in line. Has to be Tommen, unless Stannis is able to grab it. Basically, all of Margaery's plans to the the Queen of all Queens have been trashed. All she can do is play palace politics and maybe try to marry whomever the next man to wear the crown. She had nothing to gain in Joffrey's death and a whole lot to lose. Her grandmother, on the other hand, could very well be involved. She could protect her granddaughter from a life with an obviously deranged man who would likely hurt her. Olenna could also protect the Tyrell money by breaking off the two weddings without appearing to do so herself.
  20. Here's an odd thought that occurred to me. What happened to Margaery having the finest necklace available in the city? Remember Oleanna sending the ladies in waiting out to all the jewelers? The necklace Margaery wore at the wedding was really sort of plain. IN fact, it was the plainest thing about Margaery that day.
  21. Yes. As I said, I misheard and was confused. The (correct) version Sukenya relayed makes a LOT more sense.
  22. Good list. I wouldn't have Tywin or Littlefinger on there, though. Bad guys, sure, but interesting ones. Unlike Frey or Bolton. I must have heard that last exchange between Jaime and Loras wrong. I could have sworn Jaime said "She'll never marry you" then Loras replied "Neither will you." That confused me. I think you're right and I misheard. I thought Loras was implying that Jaime was closeted or something.
  23. I think that the judges were a MAJOR part of the problem with this show. Jen Rade was worse than useless. She rarely seemed to understand the rules and apparently has some rather dubious taste. Rachel Roy, bless her heart, her own clothing and make up choices show that she has bad taste and a weak understanding of what flattering. She also didn't seem to "get" the rules. Zanna Roberts Rossi would have been a weak judge on the regular Project Runway. Here she was probably the best of the three but that's not saying much. This group was terrible. Bad taste. Couldn't follow the rules. Couldn't make a darn decision. I think they contributed more to the downfall of this series than did the piss-poor mentors and generally weak designers.
  24. Better yet, did you see the reaction of one of Shan's sons to Asha's collection? OMG, a look of horror that was both hilarious and highly appropriate. The young man has a big future in front of him. All three of Shan's kids were so cute.
  25. Her colors were rich and pretty, but other than that I was yawning. I really thought the fix was in for Asha. Oscar's win was a pleasant surprise. Speaking of surprises, Mondo really thought that he had the win locked in. He was a weak mentor, but still better than Anya. I have zero respect for Anya, even less now then when she won a design competition despite being unable sew.
