  1. Neither Josh or Jake should ever have been on TV, to be frank. Imagine how desperate you'd have to be to think that having sex with Elliot would lead to a modeling or hosting career. That said, look what a sex tape did for the whole Kardashian family.
  2. You know, I want to like him. I'm been rooting for him to grow up and start operating the boat like a business. There have been glimmers, but he backslides regularly. I think the solid behavior is the performance for the cameras now. The crappy sniping etc is his nature.
  3. Josh Harris will sink back to his old and real terrible prickish self given half a chance. I thought it was an interesting comparison of leadership styles between the captain of the Cornelia Marie and Wild Bill on the Cape Caution. The CM captain saw that he was being undermined and dealt with it directly. It was absolutely appropriate to bring Josh into the bridge and lay down the law, then make Josh stand with him as he explained how things work to the crew. That established clearly defined authority. By contrast, Wild Bill whines and rants and explodes. I also thought it was a failure on the park of the deck boss (I forget his name, the drunk). He could have gone up to the bait guy and said that he sees what's going on and to fix it or he'll escalate it to the captain. Fix the issue, no drama. Wait, that can't happen on the Cape Caution. They're out there for the drama more so than the crabbing.
  4. I thought of Babylon 5 when I saw that cocoon, too. I wish, however, that the Falling Skies cocoon didn't have the transparent part where we can see Lexi's face. Are they actually going to show her transforming? No surprise when she emerges? I hate the whole Mason family. I don't understand why humanity's apparent goal is to follow or protect that bunch of idiots. I wish this show would go back to more of a American Revolution sort of story as it was in the first season or two. Cocooning a character, particularly a hybrid or otherwise super special character, has been done many times. Most of those times it's been done better than we're seeing with Falling Skies, too.
  5. The Yakuzu and Gus Jr were at the house with Eric. They know about the cure and Gus Jr.'s family are the makers of Tru Blood. It's in their best interest to get Sarah's blood, find the curative element in it, mass produce it, then get everyone back drinking Tru Blood. That's the only reason I can see for having Gus Jr team up with Eric to go find Sarah.
  6. After looking at Rate the Runway, I think the same thing about Fade. It was clever, interesting, and pretty. We barely saw the dress during the runway. I don't understand why it didn't get more attention.
  7. Amanda was more their camp follower, but she was right there with them. When I was listening to her last night, as annoying as she was, she seemed to sort of acknowledge that. She went along with the gang and tended to be in Michelle's shadow. I can't imagine why they chose the three past season people they did. The producers were basically asking fans to choose which kind of drama to add into the mix this season.
  8. They're small accessory and (some) shoe stores in malls, mostly middle level malls in my area.
  9. The challenge was to make a springtime outfit. While it was well made, it could have been made by any of a long line of Project Runway designers including Amanda's mean girl buddy, Michelle. Amanda did a great job in construction (esp given the time constraint) but it wasn't exactly new or interesting. The other designer who made the all black outfit should have been called out on it, as well.
  10. The preview gave me hope, however. It doesn't seem like at least Sandhya is going to take it in silence.
  11. I suspect its because Sandhya's outfit was interesting and different. Her dye job was amazing. She transformed fabric that should be made into elderly ladies' house coats into something eye catching and even pretty. Sandhya took crappy fabric and made something people will stop, look at, and discuss. Char's, while much much prettier, was more conventional. Pieces similar to those have seen seen regularly on runways and in stores. Amanda's was well made but this was a spring challenge. Amanda's model looked like she was ready for fall or to audition for a sci-fi miniseries. The South Florida mean-girl-guy (Mitchell) should have gone home. His tshirt and shorts were simple and yet still a hot mess. Jefferson missed the mark by a mile (cover the waist, let the butt cheeks hang out? Come on, dude.) but there was more thought and skill in his pieces. And honestly, if you changed the colors into earth tones, it was pieces like this that won Gretchen her season. I think they kept Mitchell for his drama.
  12. I love the Hansens. I really do. They're a family with ups and downs, but they're decent people and are working hard to run a business. Mandy did just the right thing on the all nighter. Don't complain one bit and work as hard as you can. I didn't realize that she isn't Sig's bio daughter. That makes me love this family even a little bit more. Mandy is going to end up with a college degree and as CEO of Hansen Inc. On to the others. I don't understand why anyone goes out to sea with Elliot. They all know him by now. There are other boats. Does he pay more than the other boats? Otherwise, they're in some kind of co-dependent fishing hell. Wild Bill I'm convinced loves the drama more than he loves the fishing. As a professional, there is NO REASON to keep that deck boss on his payroll. Either Bill down deep needs the drama or the deck boss has something he's hanging over Bill's head. NO other reason. I can understand that Junior needs to go out to be able to keep up the payments on his boat. I think he should have arranged for another captain to do this round, though. It would cut into his profits a bit, but he'd still bring in money and he'd be able to heal better. This is the winter season, it's going to be rough out there and Junior's back will be taking a lot of abuse even when he's just sitting in the chair on the bridge. He's being short sighted.
  13. I think this is all driving toward Hoyt coming back to Bon Temps. Lots of drama, of course. Hoyt ends up with Jessica. Lala ends up with James.
  14. A better get together would have been, I don't know, a WAKE. Lots of food and drinks and people could have still gotten a bit out of control toward the later stages.
  15. Agreed. My first thought was that we're going to see all the other vampires feeding off his blood...again. Bill and Sookie could completely disappear and it would do nothing but improve the show.
  16. The on-again-off-again accent is odd. It sounds like some of the kids are either deaf or maybe picked up bits of accents from watching old movies.
  17. Yes, that was one of the most amoral things we've seen on this show. Bad enough to ignore the request not to use milk, but then not to have a shred of regret? She and Elliot deserve each other. Those crewmen need to quit as soon as the ship reaches shore again. Why the heck wasn't Nick fired on the spot? Instead, Wild Bill stands up in the wheelhouse looking like he's going to cry or explode. Why did he ask Nick to get back on the boat? Fire him, make some calls, find another deck boss. Or elevate one of the current guys and hire a new hand. Bill knows that guy is bad news and tolerates him. Maybe he likes the drama.
  18. Wild Bill takes out his anger and frustration over bad crab numbers on his kid. As soon as those pots start coming in empty or light, the cross hairs are fixed on his son. Sig is really not doing his daughter any favors and she knows it. Let her succeed or fail on the deck. Her uncles and the other deck hands aren't going to let her get hurt anymore than they'd let each other get hurt. I really think she'll end up running the family business. Even if she doesn't end up working the crab seasons long term, it's good for her to understand how each job works in their company. Get the practical experience, get a business degree, run an empire. Elliot sucks. I know I should feel sorry for his kidney infection, but he still sucks.
  19. He looked close to tears to me. It was either the babymama or someone else. It wasn't Val. I've worked on boats. They're like Peyton Place under the best of conditions. Bringing a love interest or booty call on board is a recipe for disaster, but honestly Elliot's whole life is a disaster so what's new.
  20. Episodes like this show that Keith has another side, other than his anger fits and abuse of greenhorns. He's quick to respond, and respond appropriately to potentially bad injuries. Sig, I love you but you screwed up having Mandy set pots...even if the pots ended up full of clean crabs. Let her earn the respect of the others. Don't coddle her and undermine her. Elliot, how do you suck, let me count the ways. Am I crazy, or did Discovery show Elliot bringing his girlfriend on board? Was that a preview for next week shown before this episode? Say it isn't true.
  21. It feels like the Chrissy storyline may be coming to a head, but I'm not sure yet how it's going to play out. She's definitely trying to get out of town (and probably the country) quickly, which makes me think that when her exit is blocked that Den's death will become general knowledge. Mo-Cat-Alfie-Billy. I do not care anymore. Mo and Alfie are completely without chemistry. I don't understand why he'd go with her over Cat.
  22. I agree. I like seeing Mandy. She's tough and funny and challenges her Dad and uncles. She also already has an idea of what she's in for, so she's miles ahead of the greenhorns who are hired cold. She'll make it, but then has to decide if this is the life for her. Arguably, she could get a business degree and run the Hansen empire rather than being a captain herself. Mandy is way more interesting than Josh or Elliot. I'm watching to see if she'll succeed, rather than waiting for either of those two halfwits (different sorts of halfwits, of course) finally fail.
  23. That was my thought as well when the door shut and it went black down there. Why not give them some air and sun? Will she accidentally make them crazy? Why not chain them in a big courtyard or out in the countryside somewhere? The captain said he couldn't take her North because he was going home to Braavos. She then showed the coin, he seemed surprised she had it, then she used the phrase, then he gave her a knowing look and a salute and said he'd take her. Jaquen said that any ship (or was it any Braavosi ship) would know the coin and phrase and would take her to the assassin school. Now THAT would be fun and a game changer. It'd also be a way to get a dragon to Westeros despite Dany wanting to stay in Mereen.
  24. That was PERFECT. Tyrion is free and heading overseas with Varys. Tywin got then end he deserved. House Lannister is shattered, the future relies on Tommen who is now back under his mother's control. Stannis, I never ever saw that coming even after their talk of going north. I kept looking at the horsemen, saying that they can't be undead. Will they let the willing through the tunnel? Bran, glad he reached the tree finally, but the pixie-ish thing and the old man/god/whatever were unexpected. The comment about him flying made me think that he'll have a raven familiar...but why did he have to go all that way to get one? I think more is to come. Dany had to chain her dragons. Well, yeah. What did she imagine would eventually happen to them? That was all that was left for Arya to do. I did feel for Brienne.
  25. I can understand their point. He's apparently straightened himself out and gotten back to the starting line, the point from which he'll START paying his dues.
