  1. Thanks, Bastet. I thought Joe Friday must be one of Jane's short-term boyfriends!
  2. Can someone explain who Joe Friday is, please?
  3. Thanks, pcta. I somehow thought everyone had converged outside the power substation in Brooklyn, and I couldn't understand why no one here was concerned about Fusco's fate. Now i can figure that he's back at the precinct attacking the paperwork fallout from all the shootings! I can concentrate now on Elias's fate!
  4. What happened to Fusco after he ducked away in the scene when Dominic was shot? If he is still alive, why didn't he crawl out from the rubble in the last scene? Reese reappears, and then Reese, Root, the suitcase and Finch all head out through the gunfire. Why no sign of Fusco? Did he in fact survive?
  5. I too was startled when Prady said that he was a Jesuit. I don't think it is to be taken literally. Surely if he had been a former Jesuit, it would have been an issue raised in the campaign. I think it refers to the popular perception that Jesuits are known for strict adherence to rules. However there is also a popular perception that Jesuits are very good at equivocal, crafty reasoning that seeks to justify certain actions in specific cases. This would not fit the Prady character. All in all, it seems to be an ill-chosen term to put in Prady's mouth.
  6. Tasha is from Donnie's IMMEDIATE past.
  7. When Daniel goes back to Kate's dressing room behind the church, perhaps to say he loves her, he bumps into a freestanding clothes rack with a hooded robe and some kind of bib hanging on it. Daniel bumps into the rack again on the way out of the room, so we will be sure to notice the rack. A few minutes later, when everyone comes rushing back to the dressing room, Kate's bridal gown is laying on the floor and the robe and bib are gone from the clothes rack. Is that what she had on when she left? I imagine so.
  8. I think that some people may be confused in their memories of teeth pulling at home when they were growing up. Baby teeth that were already on their way out naturally were often pulled to relieve the pain and annoyance of the semi-attached tooth flapping around in a child's mouth. A firmly-attached but injured or infected permanent tooth would be a whole different story, string on a doorknob or otherwise.
  9. I think that there is so much disagreement about the motives of Edith, Mrs. Drews, Mary, Bunting and Cora in various situations because of clumsy, poor writing for these female characters. Is it too late to arrange for glasscase, txhorns79 and fishcakes to write a Very Special Episode that would clarify at least the Cora/Bricker situation?
  10. Thanks Morrigan2575 for clearing up what Baird picked up off the desk. I love the gentle humor on the show, such as the introductory scene of this episode of the dragon awakening, so like a 50's Japanese horror/sci fi movie.
  11. The signal was breaking up at the end of the show and I could not make out what Baird picked up off Flynn's desk at the very end. It seemed like a crumpled up piece of paper. Could anyone make it out? Thanks.
  12. Although there were some lovely moments in the finale, such as Matt's farewell to June, they were all generated by the skills of the actors and not the strength of the material. The writers should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe if I had never watched a TV show before, I would have been moved by the faked death, the "one year later"ploy, and most of all the coy avoidance of saying the babys' name. Yes, the show was USA fluff, but couldn't someone have showed a little imagination?
  13. I think that my fellow-librarians are being a little hard on the show for not arranging the shelves in Dewey or LC order. I'm happy to see libraries presented in a positive light, although I smile to see that the librarian is the one who knows everything and not the one who knows how to find out about everything! By the way, I worked in a used bookstore in the '90's. Restaurants with a decor that included pubby rooms with shelves of old books were popular at the time. They used to order books from us by the foot, occasionally specifying color, but never category, content or arrangement.
  14. While I do agree that the overall level of The Good Wife has sunk to near soap opera level at times, some things are still very well done. The way that Alicia's increasing isolation from the firm was suggested by her rapping on her office window and pantomiming a brief supportive message as Cary's situation worsened foreshadowed her complete unawareness of Trey's death at the end of the episode. Message Discipline indeed!
  15. I guess everyone is as disgusted as I was by the routine tie-up-all-the-loose-ends, soap opera, happy ending. Did I fall asleep and miss what happened to Inspector Mulligan's body? This has to have been the worst Masterpiece ever, including all programs ever shown under the Masterpiece umbrella.
  16. I think that all the suggested interpretations of the meaning of the wolf have some of the truth. Overall, I think the wolf represents the ever-present wilderness just outside the parking lots or just beyond the plowed roads. The time had come to remove an evil force that had released too much evil into the Fargo world and the wolf was sent to restore the balance.
  17. Did everyone notice that, in the montage shown while McCormak was singing "I Love Paris," we see the false Legate/FBI agent step into view as the police drag Serge the Spy away? Perhaps the story is not yet over!
  18. I think it is strange that Will's son Jamie does not seem to be receiving any therapy after the trauma of his mother's death. Is this setting the stage for a last-minute revelation of something he saw during the crime?
  19. After Helena has been inseminated at the evil farm, the body double/midwife takes her down a path to a different building. It turns out to be the nursery and preschool. I think this is the setup to later allow time and space for the children to escape the fire that starts in the other buildings. After we hope that they have left, we see Helena looking back at what sure looks like every building burning.
