  1. I didn't like the reason Ant gave for picking Christina. That wasn't judging, it was bias. I thought both teen rooms were over the top, and not practical. The live edge in H & T's room looked awful. Christina's room was better than H & T's, but neither one looked like anything but a hotel room, not a family home.
  2. Gastric sleeve is much quicker than bypass, so he does that first, and it works for a lot of patients long term. If it stops working then he sometimes went to the bypass, or revises the sleeve. Dr Procter has gone to the duodenal switch for revisions, because he said it doesn't cause the malnutrition that conventional bypass does.
  3. My guess is that they stopped filming episodes several years ago, and Dr. Now has moved on to 6,000 lb Diaries, but there were contract reasons for still showing these dud episodes. This week seems to be the end. Last WATN with Lindsey and Thederick. Next two weeks are reruns of WATN episodes.
  4. For their regular flips, I think they're all shopping the clearance section at whatever tile and finishes store they use, and it's all coming from their warehouse of bulk buys. I'm sure Christina has a similar stock of finishes. And as Soapy Goddess said, for the show the tile was donated for publicity, and they didn't have choices. I found Ant's reason for picking Christina to win was pathetic. I think it was just to even up the number of wins, and it's all a storyline.
  5. Yes, the porch addition was very expensive. They did replace the 70's style single front door with sidelights with double doors.
  6. I was confused by the license issues, because transfer from the state they live in to Texas should have been easy. I'm guessing that there was a work requirement in her home state, because of the hospital paying for education or a hiring bonus, and it would take a certain amount of time before she could move.
  7. Flipping Over Budget, S02.E10 New, 2/20/2025 "Tarek and Heather bring their flipping skills to Yorba Linda, Calif., and take on one large property; they're looking to conquer a half acre lot, but this massive home may be a bigger undertaking than they expected." Half acre lot, two story, 3 bed 2 bath 2500 sq ft. Huge back yard, with an empty ugly small pool. Screen information said 3 bedroom and Heather says 5 bedroom? House has a main floor primary, and upstairs is a second primary. Then Tarek says 3 bedrooms on the first floor, and a huge primary upstairs. Heather will be designing this one again. Jake will be the contractor. Laundry is in the garage, and they want to put in a room for the laundry. Heather wants someone to source materials for her design, that's what they do every week. Estimated rehab $250,000 without landscaping and laundry room, so $300,000. Tarek wants to do a laundry wall in the garage, and save on the laundry room build. Designer Dalas (yes, not spelled with two "L"s) wants to put a second laundry room upstairs, in the main suite closet upstairs. Terrible idea. For well over $1 million, I don't expect to do laundry in the garage. They are short on rehab money, so they want to pave the back patio for $12,000, so that's out. Stair treads will be cheaper. Why do they do accent walls with wallpaper when they're short on money? Pool redo will be $12,000, and ruin the yard. There's a new comp, over $2 million, and Tarek wants to get rid of concrete around the pool, put in a retaining wall and fire pit, outdoor kitchen, plus appliances, so $55,000 for that plus $12K for the pool. I would want concrete around the pool. Heather's pine live edge look anemic, not as attractive and thick like other live edge shelves. Fireplace stone doesn't look good, but it's in the dining room. 2nd primary on the first floor, is dark gray walls, and a super dark shower tile. I think it looks like a cave. The mirror in this bath is way too low. Main second floor primary bathroom has tiled shower, and tongue and groove painted in the rest of the room. I don't like that either. Entertainment center in family room looks dated, not custom. Kitchen backsplash is chunky stone, and will be a nightmare to clean. Backyard kitchen and pool looks nice, but not $80,000 worth of nice. Custom primary closet upstairs has washer dryer hookups if the buyers want to do that. I don't like the bedroom wallpaper either. They did do the laundry wall in the garage, and the second laundry room too. Unfortunately the only space in the garage laundry is for front loaders. Purchase Price $1.3 million, rehab $410,000. $1.870 million break even. List price, $2.5 million. Projected profit $630,000.
  8. 20 February “You Can’t Buy Me Love” New, Season 11, Episode 91 (Bobby Grigsby vs. Marcelino Lomeli) From the show site: A man says his younger ex-boyfriend accepted a car loan but refuses to repay him; the younger man denies that they were "dating" and says he eventually had to Google "how to get rid of a sugar daddy." Who was manipulating whom in this case? Plaintiff Bobby Grigsby suing defendant/ex-boyfriend Marcelino Lomeli for repayment of a car loan. Suing for $2,185. Plaintiff telling his story gets bleeped a lot Defendant denies it was a loan, but a gift as a Sugar Baby from plaintiff. He also says it wasn't a loan, and he felt coerced to sign the agreement to repay. Plaintiff keeps saying it wasn't a romantic relationship, and he was just being nice. However, he's now ticked off Juarez and Tewolde with his foul language, but made the person who bleeps foul language happy, if they get paid by the bleep. Plaintiff paid for a car, and defendant still has it, but it's in plaintiff's name. Leading to defendant swearing and getting reprimanded too. Corriero takes over the questioning. Poor Corriero doesn't understand any of the slang plaintiff is using. (I don't either). Corriero thinks the money wasn't a loan. $1800 to plaintiff, only the price of the car loan. “Family Fallout” Rerun, Season 11, Episode 30 p. 52, 21 October 2024
  9. Next week (2/26) is Thederick and Lindsey of Eat death Lindsey fame. Then, the next week (3/5) is supposed to be the rerun of Holly and Lashanta. However, my cable guide often gets wrong information this far ahead.

  12. I think in the 18 months between appointments, Michael just changed his look a little. I read one of the followups, that really aren't all that informative. Shantel says she lost over 100 lbs, and started a business. However, the original episode was aired in 2020, and this was filmed ending during 2022, so who knows what's up with either poundticipant by now.
  13. Yes, baby #5. Husband Michael says this is the last baby, don't bet on that.
  14. So, Shantel claims she's going back to Dr. Now's, and Carlton quit the program and is engaged to Monica. I really like Monica. So at the 3 year point, Shantel is pregnant with baby number 5. I don't like her blue hair, matching her blue dress, and matching blue eye shadow and lipstick. Now she's doing the right thing and Dr. Now is working with her.
  15. That's a previous episode from this season. Shantel and Carlton Where are They Now is the current on. So, in 18 months Shantel and her brother Carlton are estranged, and they both gained over 100 lbs. Carlton gained almost 200 back. Shantel gained 135 lbs. I bet Shantel stretched her stomach back out. Unfortunately, Shantel did eat through her surgery. Carlton ruined his stomach too. I'm so disappointed in both of them. He's getting propofol, my favorite!
  16. Shantel is, baby number four. By the end of the episode, she's pregnant with baby number 5. Husband and Shantel claim that's the last baby.
  17. That food is nothing like she should be eating, not for her, and not for the baby.
  18. I'm betting they both gained. I can't believe Shantel's dress, with a slit up to her fanny. So 1 year mark she's gaining. And she's going to use the baby as an excuse to gain a lot. Carlton lost 29 lbs, so that's decent for him. "Do you value your life?" Dr. Now is telling her the truth. I wonder if she's seeing an obstetrician? I hope so.
  19. Slowing weight loss is a bad sign. I think Carlton is depressed, and needs therapy with Dr. Paradise. At least Carlton's pants are staying above his fanny. They're not following the protein first routine, and they should be. How can she sit there, and not tell the doctor she's pregnant?
  20. So both had surgery and lost over 200 lbs each. Carlton needs to buy pants that will stay up. Shantel is doing pretty well, but Carlton isn't. I think he needs more therapy, and with Dr. Paradise, not Lola the Letter Writer.
  21. Since Aldi bought Winn-Dixie, and we have two here, the rumor was we were getting an Aldi's. But no word of that, and Aldi's sold Winn-Dixie, so we have to hope they put one in here. I really want an Aldi's, since apparently the town is too small for a Costco.
  22. I recall a mention in the original episode that Monica (the girlfriend) was getting out of a bad situation. Michael (Shantel's husband) and Monica (Carlton's girlfriend) both had jobs, which is a nice change for this show. My weather here in lower Alabama has been strange, with a snowstorm of 8" (4 times the previous record here), and then tomorrow night into Friday morning, lows in the mid 20's, really strange for here.
  23. Both from Columbus OH, Carlton's starting weight was 786 lbs., and Shantel was 640 lbs. Their original episode aired February 2020.
  24. They're the brother and sister team from Columbus Ohio. The shared a house with her fusband. Carleton had an online girlfriend who showed up as they were going to Houston (they moved before seeing Dr. Now), and she went with them. Girlfriend was driving, and hit another car, I suspect it was the camera crew van, and Shantel's husband was upset, he rented the car she was driving. They had a slow start, but really tried after that.
  25. Tonight's is Carlton and Shantel, next week 2/16 is Lindsey and Thederick. After that my cable guide for 3/5 lists WATN for Holly and Lashonda, however that's a rerun from a few years ago. Either someone sent the wrong info out, or there are only two new WATN.
