  1. Heheeh yes a typo, its 1.75 million with same rooms and property and neighborhood. I noticed in the kitchen pictures that the counters and stove top still seem low which means a buyer needs to consider that as well. I would suggest waiting until he's actually made a buck.... He may very well - it is a nice property. But rates are going up....
  2. For a variety of reasons I do not think "having pumpkin season" will survive this sale (pretty much all of the sites and infrastructure including parking lots is in the listing photos for the sale) but I do hope any potential owners consider what Matt's plans for his property will be. Not sure, for example, how I'd feel about buying a nice whimsical piece of land only to see my next door neighbor building a "Great Wall of China" so close to my property. Nor would I be pleased with a pumpkin season (if it were to happen) where the patrons were used to being on and wanting to see *my* property. Oh prices have definitely gone up but its a pretty niche property. And the market for gigantic expensive houses in Matt's neck of the woods without all the strings attached of being the ex Roloff Farms property isn't blazing. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/10425-NW-Helvetia-Rd-Hillsboro-OR-97124/186249293_zpid/ This place for example on zillow, not a roloff address but literally down the road from Roloff Farms is 1,750,000,000 - its on 10 acres and has the same 5 bedrooms, 6 baths and its been on Zillow for 19 days already. I'm curious to see how it does. I suspect this new season will be al about it.
  3. Of course. I'd love to see the appraised value. Is it in the listing? I could have missed it. What I did see was the last sale value a little over a year ago that was 975k. I don't know how finishing the play pirate ship and burying some gold coins in the sandbox increased the value by over 3 million, but hey maybe its a lot of pirate booty buried there....
  4. In what seems like a really classic passive aggressive bitch move, everyone knows this announcement is on Jackson's birthday, right? :) Super classy!
  5. Hehehe this assumes that Matt doesn't spend it on his own plans. Point - wasn't there some speculation recently that Matt simply couldn't afford to build his barbie dream house? Maybe this is how he gets the cash.... I also wouldn't expect any inheritance from Matt at this point if I was one of those kids. (not that it should be expected either, but I have a feeling Matt is all about Matt) Only if he actually sells it for that price - he took out an 867k mortgage on it just last year to pay Amy and most buyers at this level do pay attention to prior sale prices. Matt paid Amy 975k total for her *half* the property just last year. Now he's selling the admittedly better half for 3 times that? I mean, he's also saying (as of right now) that pumpkin season will continue which means any buyer will be dealing with people non stop trespassing in October...
  6. I tried to look at the listing at Global Properties but its timed out 503. The Wall Street Journal article says the castle and the pirate ship and western town are included, thanks for the link Dustbunny! Agreed. And if thats close to the deal offered to Zach, not sure I can blame Zach for being pissed. Matt bought *half* the property from Amy for 975k just last year. He's now offering to sell essentially half of the original 32 acres for 4 million. Admittedly the "good half" but thats still one HELL of a mark up.
  7. Its a nice place but I will be genuinely shocked if he gets 4 million for it. I'm more impressed that he was allowed to split the property.
  8. Interesting! Did it say how much?
  9. I do want to correct myself, it was a broken ankle. But yeah the tale was sufficiently exaggerated that "the spider was so giant I needed my neighbor to come kill it in the middle of the night" was probably more like, "the neighbors were over at around 7pm and there was a daddy long legs and I had the vapours and went pretend hysterical until neighbor offered to kill it".
  10. Well, auj does tend to overplay things. Remember when she was blogging their move from Oregon down to Los Angeles and she twisted her ankle the first night and then Jeremy had to do a photoshoot the next day leaving her alone, in an empty apartment with no food or water, not able to walk or call for help and she had to pray to Jesus to save her from Satan, who came for her? Meanwhile I am a little "Jeremy has no job and they're just back from vacation, why isn't he home?"
  11. Dunno about adding to it - he says remodeling. I have noticed, from watching the show, that Matt tends to be constantly remodeling Well, there was a whole lotta "Amy let all the maintenance go" complaining but really it all sounded like normal wear and tear. Matt also tends to make things sound much bigger than they actually are. The "major remodeling" he talks about for example? Might be painting a room or two. At one point he was "remodeling" the double wide, which amounted to painting the cabinets and changing the flooring. Made worse that yeah, he's constantly saying he won't live there. Its genuinely hard to tell what's going on with the floor plan of the Big House. I know, for example, that there's still three bedrooms on the second floor but there's ALSO a really extensive great room and maybe another bedroom? On the first floor there was a LARGE office for Matt that once he moved out seemed to never really be used again (Amy may have used it as a playroom for the grandkids. There's the really large great room attached to the kitchen and a dining room and the original smaller office/den, and the original rarely seen bedroom and bathroom for Matt and Amy. And there is a six car garage that also seems to have office space. One reason I found the "OMG I MUST BUILD A NEW GARAGE PRONTO!" silliness so silly is that if no one is living in the big house... why not park your cars there? Even if the other Karen was still renting, most people don't have six cars to begin with and garage access isn't much to ask for from a renter. But then who knows how many cars Matt owns? I am curious if he ever starts the barbie dream house, just how long it will take. The last major change to the house was a six month long, if not more, nightmare of Matt making changes to everything and running out of money which shut down building. And that was with Amy and the kids nagging him. Exactly! And honestly, if it was easy peasy make a butt ton of money to sell to developers Matt would have sold the property decades ago.
  12. Moved from Zach and Tori since its mostly about Matt The property is valuable. The big house? At last check, Matt was remodeling it yet again - he posted something about it in March. My issue with the big house is simply that it's a GIANT house. Rumor has it that in order to rent it to the other Karen, the kitchen was remodeled back to an average height kitchen. I wonder too if some of the remodeling in March was making it more average height accessible. This. The various structures littered around that people aren't allowed into per the county Western Town for example, non family members haven't been allowed to go into buildings in over a decade. Noah's Ark, which is literally just an unfinished boat hull thats been left outdoors for ten years now. The castle, that people in pumpkin season aren't allowed to go in. The swamp fort rotting in the swamp. The new pirate ship. These things look cool but a new non family owner is only going to see them as a liability. And frankly, Matt has a lot of "stuff" all over the farm. Zach "buying" the property frankly means Matt maintains status quo... but a non family member buying the farm means Matt's got to find a place for his car and atv collection and ALL of his valuable stuff in the barns that he wants to keep. And Roloff Pumpkin season on that part of the property would end. A non family member is not going to make a full market value offer for that property if Matt plans to commandeer it for one month out of the year and retains control over outbuildings. Any sale to a non family member with usage strings attached would make it a difficult sale, in my opinion. The big house is lovely but its kind of BIG. I can appreciate it as a beautiful home on the interior, but its certainly way too big for me, and the exterior is "McMansion on Steroids". If Matt is seeking top dollar, even if he's NOT attaching usage strings, I don't know that I'd want to live next to the former owner who may still be running a noisy crowded business one month of the year right next door. I've actually wondered why Matt hasn't gone the AirBNB route with the place.
  13. Moving over to the Matt thread instead of responding here
  14. I mean that makes a weird sense....
  15. I'm sure the jerk CEO was out skateboarding in the parking garage or something else of a forced "cool" nature ;)
  16. It'll be interesting if they ever actually reveal the nature of Zach's offer versus Matt's counter. Its a valuable property so Matt shouldn't be expected to sell it cheap simply because of family relationship. At the same time, Zach shouldn't be expected to pay more than fair market value simply because Matt wants more. And if there are usage conditions in the mix, thats a whole added factor that can indeed affect the price - who wants a property with a high price tag that isn't really yours to do with as you like? A non family member is not going to pay top dollar for a property where the prior owner can still use the property as they please up to and including having an office on the property and driving all around the property building new structures on whims etc. To a point if Matt wants to sell, he has to accept the fact that he IS selling Hee hee I wish I was artistic and I would make you one. I just remember this one scene in a very early season where Jeremy was going off with friends and Zach was in his grubby shorts and grubby Civil war cap sitting on a rock, *slowly* eating goldfish crackers.... and "Zach is a slug" came to me.
  17. Although I do think its nice for a young man to have a good suit available for things like interviews and such. I don't get the impression that Judd and Grace are poor. It *was* an interview where it doesn't usually hurt to dress up. The job itself was an unpaid internship for the summer in something Wyatt was interested in. What I suspect will happen btw is that after Judd is rescued (because Judd ain't dying) is that Wyatt will find out from the CEO guy that he was gonna get the internship anyway, that CEO thought he had unique answers or whatever and liked his daring to wear the suit.... thats often where this trope goes. This
  18. Agree. In fairness, Tory is also a lot smarter than Zach so it kind of makes sense. Also fair. It was very noticeable to me at least that once Amy was no longer in the farm decision circle, that Matt turned his irritation onto how Zach was suddenly the problem on the farm. Matt loves to use the show as a platform for his complaints about family members. I wouldn't want my husband facing that. If she believes this, she's not wrong. I'm not a huge kid fan so I'd watch without kids but most folks aren't tuning in to see Amy and Chris hang out with Matt and Caryn in increasingly awkward and unlikely scenarios. (I myself find this hilarious but its a minority taste). That said, the flaw in Zach and Tory hijacking the show is that Zach has the personality of a slug and I don't think the kids are verbal enough to carry the show. I could be wrong, of course. Also agree. Its a weird dynamic that I freely admit, I don't understand - "the farm" is this weird end game for all the Roloffs. Personally I think its way healthier emotionally for Zach and Tory to own their own nice piece of property and make a nice life for themselves with their own stuff. Right or wrong, Matt isn't likely to cede control of any portion of his little empire and the endless "I want a legacy, I want one of you to take over, I just want to retire to AZ, but I also want to control every aspect of activity here on the farm" is, forgive me, a bit toxic. Its clearly not about affording it - Zach and Tory didn't buy their current place with smiles, and a handful of shiny beads. And hey, maybe Zach puttering around with his kids DOES make a fun tv show. On their own land. And honestly, Jackson is starting to get to an age where he will remember what was said and maybe its best that he's nowhere near Matt. Fair enough but they (all of them) only have themselves to blame for the failed relationships. There's just not much to argue about over the farm - Matt owns it and isn't terribly interested in selling. Chris and Amy are a nice enough couple but I dont find their road tripping plans that fascinating, and Matt and Caryn always present a carefully curated version of their relationship where they are 100 percent happy all the time and yet not planning to wed. Honestly if the show didn't have Zach and Tory cranking out babies, I think it would have been canceled a while ago.
  19. I mean, as soon as the suit was mentioned, I knew where this plot was going and it wasn't "Wyatt gets the job because he shows up the other interviewers by dressing professionally" - I just dislike this trope for the exact thing you say - Wyatt could have worn a nice dress shirt to put some effort into his appearance for the interview and made the point. These days, if the job isn't in finance, a suit is overdressing at most workplaces for day to day outfitting. But for an interview? Still not a bad idea. Yeah, can't believe the woman screaming there was a problem didn't resolve with the kids being put in a cop car to talk with CPS just to be careful.
  20. Its odd but proof of nothing, really. Scars fade and they stopped bothering long ago. I totally thought this was what Bobby was referring to - the station house. Unlike Hen, he wasn't a total douche to the new guy.
  21. I think he would be more understanding of than a lot of "Um... yeah... later in my career" early on followed up with "Well, actually I may never want kids and my body my choice". If Leela was the one infertile, she would have told Devon a lot sooner that she wasn't going to have kids with him. The problem isn't really Leela's choice to not have children, its that Leela made that choice but never really said to Devon "lets be clear, I don't want children with you or anyone" and instead was all "maybe later when x, y and z is past...." Thats fair but at the same time, the mom DID want to maintain control. They were looking at it from a more purely medical view and for a change, did actually leave it in the mother's hands until it became too medically necessary. Yeah, and wasn't there some suspicious "Why are her records so weirdly blank with her seeming to appear out of no where?" meanderings when Conrad was looking into her that strongly suggested she was in witness protection. I will allow that no matter how nice the housekeeper is, its not really the same as having a parent. And laws only come into play if the family is reported. I can see a loveless or lonely childhood with parents constantly absent and a housekeeper not especially caring what you did to be a little bit scarring. True - I doubt Cade went to school with no breakfast and dirty clothes and returned home to a cold empty dirty kitchen with no food - but I do think this is a valid resentment. Plus, it was strongly implied he has a problem with prescription drugs that she is used to covering. He's a self involved ass. But not a total dick - no one made him fly out, you're totally right. But then you can't dramatically injure yourself and have your faux boyfriend get shitty over your dad being an asshole.
  22. I'll be fair. I thought they were building something between Billie and Conrad. I don't think its been as bluntly pushy as Conrad/Cade but yeah, this didn't surprise. I'll allow pain med excuses for some of this but.... She's apparently hiding her dad's drug problem after this endless plot around drugs and the mafia? Also wasn't she in witness protection? So she was using her real name all this time? How is it in any way appropriate for Conrad to be treating Cade for anything at this point? Shouldn't her doctor be someone other than her kind of boyfriend? And yet we all know he won't (barring a casting decision). I am tired of Leela bitching Devon out over the kid thing. He's not *forcing* her to bear his child. If he wants children, he has every right to have children. She has every right to not have a child. But.... this is a mutual problem and not all "Devon is a selfish asshole". Its a deal breaker for him and he's correct that he's always been open about wanting a family. Leela needs to grow up. And its a big hospital, they work in different departments they shouldn't have to see each other every day. See, I just can't with Bell any more. He's a terrible patient killing surgeon, no he's brilliant and just has a hand thing that went away. He's an asshole, now he's a kindly granddad. He's sleazy as fuck and hiring prostitutes, now he's a crusader against incompetant doctors. He's well, he's got MS, he's got MS but never has flair ups, he's got MS and has been struck blind. He'll be pregnant with Devon's child next.
  23. Whether they legit discussed it off camera we'll never know, but there's many episodes over the years where Matt discusses that he wants one of the kids to take over, that he wants a legacy where his grandkids grow up on the farm, that he wants his sons to work with him on the farm... but also that he isn't interested in splitting the farm up, and wants the kids to decide amongst themselves who will get what. He's also expressed repeatedly that he simply wants to sell and retire, and he's tired of waiting for the kids to step up to the plate. If whats said in private is similar to what's said in public, then Matt is all over the place with what he wants to do with the property. My vibe personally? He's not interested in selling and likely won't. And if he dies, the property will likely be left to the four children so they can "fight over it" as he has occasionally stated on the show. I will wait until these episodes air before I make a call on who is being entitled. Zach certainly seems angry and Tory seems protective of Zach so regardless of who's right, I think Zach has some hurt feelings over the situation. Matt and Caryn rolling their eyes and laughing over the situation comes off a wee bit well, not exactly hurt. If they genuinely want to see the grandkids, they might want to tone down the public mocking of the grandkids parents. Here's my thinking. If Zach made a fair market value offer for the farm - and knowing he DID buy a piece of property for 1 million - Zach not only has the money but the knowledge to know what fair market value is - and Matt wanted control of the land or usage concessions, or wanted significantly more, or both, then Zach has the right to be pissed off. Why? Because why pay full price or more for property that the prior owner still controls. If Zach offered under fair market value BECAUSE Matt wants concessions about access or control - this is where negotiations might be an issue because Matt can't expect fair market value for property he is selling but still wants a lot of access to and control over. That's unreasonable on Matt's part. Put in simple terms - if the property is worth 100k, and Matt sells it and walks away and never looks back, fine, but if its worth 100k and Zach pays 100k and Matt can still be on the property and cut down trees and plow up fields and put up structures at will, and Zach has little to no say in usage - is it really fair to ask for 100k when you don't control the property use? If Zach offered under fair market value and refuses any concessions of control to Matt, then Matt has every right to say no and be annoyed over Zach being entitled. Its a valuable piece of property and Matt deserves fair market value if he is selling because a non family buyer would simply be required to buy at fair market value. Where Matt may be the asshole here is if he is wanting full market value pricing for the farm but ALSO wanting significant control and usage concessions - you can't demand top dollar and also still use the property as though you are still the owner.
  24. No, Jonah found out he was being investigated because he was TOLD he was being investigated and put on light duty due to allegations made by his prior captain. Jonah ASSUMED - correctly - that Hen, who made her dislike of him completely open - was the one behind the accusations. eta - Jonah was a fucking idiot to go after Hen and Chim at this point because honestly, they had at best evidence that he made a poor judgement in administering medication. He *might* lose his job but more likely would have gotten a reprimand.
  25. Sure. Totally agree people still call. But Amy did make an online post and I don't think its weird that in wishing her two sons happy birthday, that she didn't reference her new husband, their theoretical stepfather, that Jeremy in particular didn't seem to approve of. Sorry, don't think its odd for Amy to not pick that option on a birthday post.
