I can't stand the kid either. I think that's because I recognised him as Kiefer Sutherland's mute autistic son Jake from "Touch". I was always so annoyed with that character, I get that he was supposed to be mute but all he did was rock back and forth and heave and shake and stare. On Gotham, the actor gets to speak, but I know I can't have been the only one who was cackling with laughter when the kid shrieked or screamed. Yes, of course it was traumatic, his parents had just been killed in front of him. But the shriek/scream was just so very badly acted.

I enjoyed it. The best part for me was Jada Pinkett Smith. She clearly was relishing the role and it was nice to see her having so much fun. I particularly dislike Donal Logue, not sure why, but I've never cared for him at all. Hated him in Copper and hated him in Vikings. Hope he is more likeable here and grows on me. I liked the atmosphere of the whole thing, it had the dark and edgy look. And it was the little touches, like when Harvey and Jim were in the diner and the lights from cars on the street kept flicking over them. One thing I did think is that it seemed to try too hard to capture that "Arrow" feel with the darkness and music. Even the title screen, with the increasingly loud music over the "GOTHAM" title which zooms in on you and gets larger seemed the same. I do wish they hadn't introduced so many characters all at once. It wouldn't have killed them to have saved the introductions of the would-be Catwoman and Poison Ivy for a few episodes later.

Oh fer cryin out loud, STFU Beady Eyes!!! Whining that "it's not fair, it's never fair for us!". What's not fair is that Wyatt got to Liam's house two minutes too early. Can't believe that they suggested abortion. Why need abortion on this show? Just have her stand on a rickety chair or trip on a rock. I hope she has the baby. -
I have both of these in the DVR. Any opinions on if either or both are worth watching, or do they just cause more frustration? Is Julia McKenzie more OK in the role than she was in the previous rounds?

Her nickname would make more sense if her name was Louise. I can't remember what her real name is, but I remember it was nothing that seemed like it would lend itself easily to "wee wee". It's even funnier that she's on a naked show and her name is Wee Wee. At one point during their date I remember Joe saying he hurt his wee wee. I think it was when he jumped onto the banana boat? It seemed like these people were at some kind of rented compound in L.A.? At the end of the show, Marcus told Moenay that he was going to stick around in L.A. for a few more days and wanted a date. Other people also said something like "this is just like being back on the island". Overall, the production of this just looked really cheap. There was like one little tree encircled field that they were at? Not that Dan would ever have a chance with anyone, but I find it odd that they invited three singles, and two of them were guys. Why not at least invite another single female? And what was the point of having AJ & Liddy "crash" the wedding. People seemed to treat them as complete strangers, as if they were this huge group that knew each other prior to the "wedding". I think someone even commented that they were strangers. No stranger to each other than any of the rest. Maybe at the time the wedding episode filmed, AJ & Liddy's episode hadn't aired yet, and thus nobody had seen them on TV yet? Whereas they probably saw everyone else's episodes?

Yes, I think he's just supposed to be comic relief. And to give Pam something to do. So sad, at one point, Donna was arguably one of the show's leads, there were a lot of stories revolving around her and Eric's marriage and her battles with Stephanie and Pam. And then with finding out she was Mushmouth's mom. Pam was great with the gold paint at the fashion show, and the honey and the bear in the cabin. She was always a bit of a comical character (the inside joke with the lemon bars) with some drama built in (locking Donna in the steam room) but now she seems to be exclusively comical. Frankly, I think the only reason why they are hanging on to Pam is to keep some connection to Stephanie around. -
This show is so educational. I knew the "Star Spangled Banner" used the same tune as a popular British song, but had never heard it before. Just like how "My Country Tis of Thee" also stole a British tune. Those early Americans, determined to break away from England and yet can't even come up with their own music for their patriotic songs haha. My question... when Anna walked in to the party, why did all of the other girls snicker and shun her? I think one might have even made a comment about how the highborn have fallen or something like that. How did they know she was rich? Was it her dress? Her dress didn't look any less fancy or expensive to me than the dresses all of the other girls were wearing.

That was.... entirely too much. And a little boring. I was as befuddled as some of the guests at the chanting and yoga-ing and the "music" and dancing. Just so weird. I didn't need to see some of these people again. Stephen the jokester? Ugh. Dan the nonstop talker? No. Stephanie of the big titties and Mike of the stupid hair? No and no. Not surprised at all that Marcus/Candace didn't work. He said he was more of a partyer, and that was the impression he gave on the show and said so, and she still picked him because they had a spontaneous dance on the beach. Bet Mike looked like a better choice to her now. And it's no surprised that Diane (?) dropped Dan. Dan to Marissa: "I'm reasonably more attractive than Stephen, so how about it?" Dude got game! Hahaha. Laughed so hard at Marissa's reaction. It's only been two months or so, and it was obvious that some of these "couples" weren't really together. Chuck and Kristin hadn't seen each other in person, although they seemed to chat daily. We didn't hear much from Stephanie and Mike. Marissa and Stephen clearly weren't together, and AJ & Liddy were just friends.

Loved Quinn's entire rant to Hopeless. The best part was when Wyatt tried asking Hope a question and Quinn shuts him down without turning around to even look at him by saying "she doesn't even realise you are in the room right now". Beady is a pathetic weak whiner. Why oh why does Bradley think that this wimp of a man is going to carry the show for the next 20 years? -
He was spouting some mumbojumbo about how his mom always sends him a sign with a frog and it means that every lil ting gonna be awright, and something about how his dead brother loved frogs, or he IS the frog, or something. I did feel bad for the guy as he was talking about the magical frog sign, it was clear he was two cents short of full on bawling. He's alone in Africa (with some camera people, and producers a few minutes away) and he felt like the frog was a sign that his mother and brother were with him. He didn't say that he thought they actually WERE the frog, right? I would have thought his mother the Voodoo Priestess of Frogs or whatever she is would have sent them that frog so he didn't starve. Yes, some frogs are poisonous, but I think those tend to be the small colourful jungle frogs. Not these mud frogs of Africa. He could have gotten a lot of protein from the frog legs, or the entire thing if he was that hungry. If he was willing to take a chance on drinking water that almost certainly was tainted by animal feces and knowing that it would probably make him sick, why wouldn't he chance eating the frog? Obviously if there had been an issue, medical would have come right away to treat him, and he knew that. I guess it doesn't surprise me that he tapped out. He wasn't doing this for the love of being a survivalist. He was doing this to book his next acting/modelling gig. Perhaps he saw Ashley crying and honking and generally looking absolutely pathetic and getting carried out naked on a stretcher. He expressed a fear or concern that he would be carried out on a stretcher too. And I guess that wouldn't have helped his image. Nobody would want him for "Dating Naked" if their last image of him was of him crying and moaning and whining about pain. Producers should have done a better job with the screening. Make sure these people have some actual qualifications and that they are doing it to test themselves and for love of it all. Not for a modelling contract. I still can't get over it. A POT. That just happens to be supposedly in the middle of nowhere in Africa. Where hyenas and lions and hippos and elephants just wander around freely. This isn't exactly like the beach/water episodes, where supposedly the currents and tide or Katrina just happens to dump used clothing and items. It was Botswana. But yet somebody had come through before him and oops they lost their pot and didn't know it!!! And even with the pot, he fails. With the pot, he could boil water and stay hydrated. He could make a broth using the leaves of plants pointed out to him by producers. He could make soup with eggs and insects and whatever else he could be able to catch/find. He had it way easier than any of the other previous contestants, and he just gives up.

I like Oliver, and I actually think Hope was fairly normal and likeable when she was with him. She didn't become this twitty until after she hooked up with BeadyEyes. -
So after he overdosed on the devil root, the medic said he was ok and cleared him to continue. But then he said he didn't want to hurt his organs and quit. The medic again said he was perfectly fine. He just didn't want to continue. Seems to me that this is probably the only guy on all the seasons that qualified as the male model type. He's been on reality tv before, his survival skills were questionable, and he gave up way too early. Apparently perhaps he thought, hey, I'll be naked, look at my body, and hope that it leads to more exposure and tv/entertainment opportunities. He was gifted a pot and couldn't tough it out. Even after they fed him all that information about the edible plants and their medicinal properties. Embarrassing.

Joshua tapped out 45 minutes into the episode. I was surprised it was only Day 5!! Then I thought, how are they going to show 16 days in 15 minutes? Guess there wasn't a whole lot to see. Surprised she barely even tried to make fire or look for food. She could have taken a walk and had monkeys throw more nuts at her. I don't have an issue with them airing him sleepwalking. I found it creepy and odd at the same time. I've never encountered anyone sleepwalking so have always wondered what it looked like. Kind of looked a bit zombielike. It's not like he was doing anything embarrassing, so I don't see any issue with airing the footage.

Haven't seen today's show yet, but if Beady Eyes actually says "we were robbed" to Hopeless, I think I should take away all the objects that I might throw at my TV. They've had PLENTY of chances to get married. It's not like they haven't tried to get married 7 times before. After the 1st or 2nd attempt that was interrupted by "wacky hijinks", you'd think that they could have just gone to a judge to make it legal, and then have a reception/celebration later. If anyone has "robbed" these two twits of a life together, it is themselves. They are both too stupid to live. They make me actively root for Quinn. I hope Quinn marries either Bill or Eric. If Sheila can do it, so can she. -

Why doesn't Hopeless just say "Screw both of you, I'm going back to Oliver!" I'm amazed at how easily she just dropped him. She was upset that he wallboinked her mom, but in his defence, he thought it was her. But so sad, too bad, buhbye Ollie. She was so harsh on him for his one innocent mistake. Then we have seen this woman make mistake after mistake after mistake and her two foos keep overlooking these mistakes and keep wanting her in spite of all of them. It is so very odd to me how the show never ever references the time that Hopeless and Oliver were together. But we are treated to the singular scene of Rick and Maya kissing on a median strip on Rodeo Drive (and the accompanying scintillating sparkling fairy music) ad nauseum. I think Oliver deserves a second chance and I would find it refreshing to see Hope and him together again, rather than seeing Hope waffle again for about the 50th time in her young life. Plus, it would make Aly's head explode. Just anything where Hope isn't the prize. Can we at least see this temporarily? Can Bradley please lay off the Beady/Wyatt battle for at least a week? Or at least have Hopeless do a Kelly Taylor "I choose me"? -

That's exactly what's going to happen. Notwithstanding the fact that this is a tired and tried soap truism, but if it sounds familiar, it's because Bradley did the exact same thing not so long ago. Beady Eyes was with Steffy, but then decided he wanted to pingpong back to Hopeless. So of course Steffy discovers she is pregnant, she goes to tell him but sees him kissing Hopeless (I think it was at weird little one room shack in the woods somewhere on the Forrester grounds???) so she flees to Paris. Must be nice to be Bradley. He sucks at his job and yet he has the ultimate job security. -

I think there's a snowball's chance in hell of that. Hopeless and Beady Eyes and the various dalliances and interferences that have kept them apart (Bill, Steffy, Thomas, Deacon, Wyatt, Quinn, Mr. Magoo and the Easter Bunny and God and the universe and bedbugs and the ocean and.... ) have been Bradley's obsession for YEARS now. And they will continue to be. It took this show 20 years to finally get off the revolving Ridge/Brooke/whoever train, and this new one is unfortunately here to stay. I don't understand why Beady feels like he can just order everyone around. He barges into Wyatt's house, and demands "where's Hope?!" Just like when he barged into her office about the pregnancy test. He calls Hope and says she has to see him. And she does! I can't understand why Wyatt would want to remain with someone who constantly disrespects him. He is now recognised by Bill as a Spencer, surely he stands to gain access to the Spencer money, not to mention the money that the Fuller family presumably has from running a supposedly well-renowned jewelry house. Why does he bother with her? Find someone new who won't always be thinking about someone else and their beady beady eyes. -
I do agree that it's tough to be a minority actor on this show. When was the last time this show had a contract Asian character? Ji Min Kim, several years ago, who was inexplicably killed for no good reason. Before that the only ones I can recall are Keemo and Luann, and that was ages ago. When was the last time this show had Hispanic characters? Is it the Gutierrez family? The parents who were glorified extras looked like stereotypical older Hispanics. But they cast one son (Diego) with a white guy (Greg something) and the other one (Raoool) with a half-Hispanic (?) guy who pretty much looked white. And they called him "Rawl", which I'm not sure if that was some kind of subliminal message that "we want credit for a Hispanic character but we're going to take all the Hispanic out of him". Ah, I just remembered about Rafe, the pudgy gay attorney. He was a disaster too. Over on B&B, which is set in L.A., a city that I think has a higher Asian and Hispanic proportion of population than in most cities, we don't have one Asian or Hispanic character. I can't remember the last regular Asian character, I think it might have been Lindsay Price? The last Hispanic characters were the Ramirez family, and again, Lorenzo Lame-ass and the girl who played Caitlin basically looked white. Don't even get me started on extras. Black extras tend to be in law enforcement, as judges or cops. Asian extras are doctors or some other kind of medical personnel. And Hispanic extras are maids, housekeepers or servants. So So long story short, I feel for Victoria Rowell. She may be outspoken but I'm glad she spoke up, and it's too bad they won't bring her back, because she would inject about 1000% more life into the dull Winters family.

I would say the same thing about Beady Eyes. He is always more of a victim than she is. Quinn might be crazy, but she was spot on yesterday when she told him that he whines too much, all he does is whine all day long. Do these people even have jobs anymore? Beady is basically just paid by Spencer Publications to skulk around Forrester looking for Hope. Ivy and Wyatt are supposed to be paid by Forrester to design jewelry. Wyatt I guess got married, but Ivy basically put her professional and personal life on hold to be Beady's purse and handholder. I do feel bad for Ivy. She is the only victim here, she has been there for Beady for some inexplicable reason, she started to develop something with him when he decided he had moved on, and now that he thinks he can win Hopeless back, he is pretty much insta-dumping her. And she was all "oh well, good for him, he belongs with her, I'm not going to be upset, I was only the placeholder". -
Ashley (per Greg, she has "a whole lot of bush") and Alika (the "sexual healer" who sleeps with his patients when necessary). I'm more curious to see who the other 5 matched couples are that are deemed successful enough to warrant another free vacation sans clothes.

Well I for one cannot stand Beady Eyes, this actor doesn't have what it takes to be the lead actor on a show and I resent the fact that he gets shoved down our throats. It irritates me to no end that Beady has so many cheerleaders propping him up (Aly, Pam, Charlie, and previously Ivy). So anything Wyatt does to irritate him is A-ok in my book. I dislike Beady Eyes even more than I disliked Stephanie in her prime, and that was a lot of dislike. -
Seems to be fiction? Would be subject to the same biases that Phillippa Gregory and others invariably inject, and of course any liberties they choose to take in the sake of making for a better novel. I still take issue with the scenes of Richard III and Elizabeth of York actually getting together. Richard knew that the allegations that Elizabeth Woodville's children were bastards was not true. I find it hard to believe that a young woman would actually sleep with her father's blood brother. But obviously things could have been different back then. I am about to start reading Conn Iggulden's "Wars of the Roses: Stormbird". Not sure how many books this series is intended to be, but I would imagine at least 3. The main players in this book appear to be Henry VI, his wife Margaret of Anjou, Richard Duke of York (father of the future Edward IV and Richard III), and William de la Pole (Henry VI's favorite and protector).
-
The whole point of the show is to strip away all inhibitions and defences and have these people meet each other in the rawest way possible. It makes them reflect more etc. So it kind of would be weird if they were all "I don't care if I'm butt nekkid in front of strangers" but then they turn around and go "ewwwwww germs and fecal matter and butt juice!!!!" That guy Mike was the tooliest of tools. Would fit right in on an episode of Jersey Shore. That stupid hair and attitude. I felt bad for Monay. She got stood up by one guy and had to choose between a tool and an oddball. She's so much better than this show.
-
From the closing lines: "After the ceremony, Sean realised what he has been doing wrong.... Everything." Classic. Lovie was clearly into him, they are lying on his bed, and all he says is, "so what do you want to do, do you want to take a walk outside?" He said he's not really a hook-up kind of guy. Let's see, he was fully naked, she was fully naked, he invites her back to his room. What did he think was going to happen? She rubs sunburn cream on his shoulders? Then he thinks he's being all cool and fun with Jackie when really he's being a bit of a jerk. Odd guy.. So it seems like Juliet and Cole were acquaintances and not really friends, because she didn't seem to know anything about him. She seemed surprised to learn he was divorced with a kid in England. He was really funny and kind. She made the right choice.

I'm not so sure that Hope was "Liam's girl". Seems to me that she was one of Liam's two girls, which is the problem that this couple has always had. Hope and Liam were going to get married, the night before, he went and partied with Steffy and dyed his hair red. Hope dumps him. He gets back together with Steffy. I forget what happened next, but when Hope and Liam look like they will get back together, Steffy came back and said she was pregnant. Looks like he is back with her, but then she has a miscarriage. She flees to Paris after finding out she is now barren. Liam is now with Hope but won't let go of Steffy. I think this is the point at which Wyatt entered. Liam was still waffling and Wyatt knew he wanted Hope and would be committed to her so he made a play for her. I don't see why Wyatt should have "respected" Liam's relationship with Hope when Liam didn't even respect it himself. I do agree though that I'm not sure why Wyatt would want Liam's house. To me her face has always been very full, I call her Chipmunk Cheeks.
