  1. Plus, they do get paid something for participating, as well as a free vacation to Mexico..........
  2. You and me both! I wish the show understood that most of their audience feels this way and they put more effort into making real matches and less effort into drama!
  3. I was more thinking about the scene with Miles and Woody and their mutual friends when they told them they were getting married. None of them seemed surprised that Miles was matched but more than a few raised their eyebrows at Woody. One even verbalized “I can see it for (Miles), but you??!” And obviously, family is a biased opinion, unless your talking Henry’s dad! But the way his mom described him does align with what we’ve been shown, so I tend to believe her. I also feel like as we move further from the “social experiment” aspect of this show and more into Lifetime Garbage Reality Crapfest territory, the producers have been less subtle about the casting/storylines and it’s easy to pick out villains pretty early on - I mean consider that in the last couple seasons you have the Kate/Luke debacle and last season Meka/Michael AND Taylor/Brandon drama. All started on the honeymoon. I definitely feel like Miles is getting a good guy edit. Maybe I’m wrong, but unlike Karen, I cannot see any red flags. 😋
  4. I wouldn't say it's "passion about Miles" per se, but more the way he has been shown so far. You are right, he could be lying. But I look at what his friends and family said about him and that goes farther to reinforce my belief that he is what he says he is more than what he says about himself. Also, he has shown himself to be sensitive to Karen which she also verbally confirmed. If she wasn't so reticent and talking about red flags, or she was as outwardly happy with him as Amani is with Woody, I don't think there would be any of this discussion here. They would just be a nice boring MAFS couple. Further, if he was truly a MAFS villain, we as viewers would already have been shown that because the one thing this show isn't is subtle......
  5. I am 48 and I wouldn't look at either of them! Just too gross.......Although, the geezers on this show seem more normal than the ones that are closer in age. The young "millionaire" guys are assholes, or if the woman is the one with the money, it's a weirdo. Last season it was Gentille and Brian, and this season it's the homeless guy and nail polish mogul in Seattle. I have no words for Rodney and Desiry. That is just stupid. Why didn't they just pair him with a young broke guy? That at least would be more believable than Desiry saying they can't have sex because she's religious and not because Rodney is gay....... And I highly recommend the original Parent Trap if you can get it. It's maybe my favorite live action Disney movie of all time. Brian Keith and Maureen O'Hara, plus a teen Hayley Mills. Perfection!
  6. I guess I’m more like Karen. I had one boyfriend in high school and one serious boyfriend in college. I won’t say before I met my my husband because I knew him and was friends with him while I was with my college boyfriend. So, three serious relationships? I dated and fooled around with others but I definitely wouldn’t call them monogamous relationships. I got married one month shy of my 26th birthday, so I guess I was young too. We’ve been married for 21 years. 10 monogamous relationships sound like a lot, but who cares? I think he was trying to emphasize the monogamous part but all she heard was the 10, which seems to be generating the most discussion here too. I really hope she can un-thaw some. He appears (at least so far) to be a nice guy. It’s so frustrating when this show finds a nice guy ready for marriage (like finding a unicorn!) and wastes them on a dud girl.
  7. She is bitchy, but between the three of them, I’m team Kathleen. I kind of love her - she’s so mean it’s hilarious. She isn’t even nice to Bill! Bri acts like Kathleen attacked her at that lunch last season (honestly, my favorite scene of the whole first season) but in reality she was just stating the cold hard truth about Bill. Lifetime clearly agrees because there is absolutely no reason for her to be there at Bri’s birthday party other than to be her fabulous bitchy self. Plus, Bill is a creep and I cannot stand the way Bri sounds when she talks. The two of them calling each other honey, blech. I was bummed they were back again this season. Has anyone here ever seen The Parent Trap with Hayley Mills? I feel like the Minister when Maureen O’Hara (the ex wife) shows back up - “Delightful woman. How did he ever let her slip away?” 😂
  8. This is the the main issue right here. We don’t know what constitutes “a relationship” for Miles, nor do we have any time frame for when these 10 monogamous relationships happened. Is he talking as an adult, or is he counting back to the onset of puberty? Context matters, all we have is conjecture.....
  9. Thank you! I seriously started sweating just watching her in that long sleeve turtleneck and jeans in that climate. Or I could have been sweating bc it was a searing heatwave here in good old California until the whole state went up in flames shortly thereafter and the smoke cover dropped us back down into the 90’s......but I digress..... You would think someone who is such a seasoned international traveler would have the right clothes for a beach vacation - that getup was NOT tropical beach vacay ready in any way!
  10. Thank you! I am ashamed to admit it but my husband and I binged season 1 A couple months ago because we were too lazy to turn it off after MAFS and got sucked in. Neither of us can understand why Gentille doesn’t just adopt a child on her own or find a sperm donor? She does not need a man to have a kid!
  11. You could absolutely be correct, but the previews for next week where they are home and she is now sick do not give me hope that they acted responsibly.......
  12. This! I seriously could not believe my eyes that she thought the next step after getting exposed was to get on a plane! What!??!! They should have stayed with her parents and quarantined! Unbelievably stupid! I cannot fathom why the show decided to even air this knowing they violated rules about traveling during this pandemic. I can only imagine the ire she will receive on social media for their reckless behavior. It is well deserved in this instance!
  13. Thank you for this. Some of the comments here make me so sad - it shows that there is still a stigma to people with mental health issues. I get that these participants didn't choose their partners and so had no say in whether they want to deal with someone (like the diabetes with Katie last season) with health issues, but this is something that can be controlled. And I would rather be with a nice guy that is dealing with depression than a total asshole such as a Matt, Luke or Zach. Now there is something that has no treatment........
  14. You are forgetting a fourth option - someone from production put her up to it to spur on the drama they so clearly mapped out as the story line for Brett and Olivia........so far, they haven't been cooperating as he's been pretty pleasant up until now and she likes him......
  15. Oh one more thing - the dreaded 7 rating - clearly Olivia didn't watch the Dallas season. Never a 7!!!! Brett should call Amber to commiserate.........
  16. Ok, lots of things in this episode stuck out to me, so here goes..... Ok Olivia, take it down a notch. I think she worked herself into that tizzy for nothing, aided by the shitty promptings of her "friend" ChristinA. Her interactions with Brett reminded me of the movie When Harry Met Sally when he's describing her: "There are two kinds of women: high maintenance and low maintenance." Sally: "Which one am I?" Harry: "The worst one. You're high maintenance, but you think you're low maintenance." I think this pretty much sums up Olivia. Miss 70 and Sunny has a lot of rules and expectations. She thinks she's easy to get along with but in reality she is uptight and demanding. Bummer. My husband and I laughed at Brett's comeback at ChristinA when she said she didn't like that he refused to answer the rating question. I can't remember exactly, but something like "How terrible for you." or some such. Girl, shut up and mind your own business. She deserved that. Henry actually showed some personality. Him paddle boarding was hilarious for some reason. He was good at it! I have wanted to try that for so long - it's on my bucket list for Hawaii. We go almost every summer (sadly, not this year) and every year I say I'm going to do it, and every year we get busy and it never happens! Karen bugged so much this episode! She is gorgeous, but her outfit on Unfiltered was too much. Is she leaving the couch and going straight to a pageant??? What was up with the evening gown???? I loved her hair though. On to the episode.....I cannot fathom what she means when she calls Miles "emotional" and insinuates that he is not "masculine" because he is open, honest and shares his feelings. Those things are not mutually exclusive! I assume she means he's weak? Wow. She needs to re-evaluate her priorities because the "masculine" guy she was dating before cheated and had a kid with someone else. Sweetie, your picker is broken. The experts did you a solid matching you with Miles and you are going to screw it up. I freaking loved Amelia's song! Maybe the show should hire her to do the music - the stuff they use now is so terrible! When they made the fort though I had Katy Perry's Teenage Dream in my head...... Amani and Woody FTW. I really hope they make it. I will be so sad if they don't! Yes, I realize how I sound saying that.....I have no life.......... They are now my favorite MAFS couple of all time. Love them. And her dress on Unfiltered was awesome.......
  17. I think it was an almost immediate "no" from her too - from the TH at the end of the wedding night where she couldn't even remember his name, to "his friends are nice" in response to something she likes about him, to "he's a lot different than guys I usually date", to "I'm trying to figure out why the experts paired us together". Stick a fork in this one, it's done.
  18. 100% accurate! Horrible for both of them - For Keith to be put in that damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, and for Iris to be matched with a man that has a value pack sized box of condoms in his drawer........
  19. Hello @TheMediumBopper! This is the show that made me finally turn from lurker to poster too! 😜 I have to disagree re: the dullness. I site his statement that the trampoline was the craziest thing he's ever done. What!?! I do not think all introverts are boring, but he really seems to be. And even if it's just the cameras and process that has made him crawl into his shell, that means he was never a good candidate for this show.
  20. Hmmm, that's debatable. Kristin is conventionally pretty to me, but her bitchy drunk self is less so. Cristina is more exotic looking but the double chin is tragic! Also on the down side, her statuesque height is definitely a negative for Henry..........
  21. Fixed it for you. And agreed, he is painful to watch.
  22. I completely agree, but I still find him odd and unfortunately for both, incompatible with his wife. The producers and/or the experts are assholes for putting them together.
  23. I agree that it’s not her job to “get him out of his comfort zone, but my God, he is one boring person. They are completely mismatched. I do think they edit for maximum effect of whatever storyline they are pushing, but the facts are that this is a guy who has reached the age of 35 and has not traveled, nor learned how to swim, has trouble maintaining eye contact when speaking and thinks jumping on a trampoline smaller than what can be found at the local Chuck E Cheese is “the craziest thing (I’ve) done in my life!” I feel sorry for both of them because both will end up miserable. The problem for me is that with someone else, she could have been successful here. I cannot fathom who they could have paired Henry with successfully. He is too introverted for this show. Cristina wondered correctly why they were matched. I do too - I mean, there isn’t even a love of mutual cats to fall back on. Only reason had to be the drama....
  24. I agree with so much of what you said. I do disagree that it’s the first time there is no villain. Trey and Vanessa, Dave and Amber (although some disagree re:Dave, but I liked him), Will and Jasmine, and Iris and Keith. I don’t think these are horrible people, just horribly mismatched.
  25. I don't think she was that upset; hence the permission slip jab back at him. Just imagine how Dallas Amber would have reacted! I think she recognizes he is a good guy even with his "10 monogamous relationships". If anything, her backstory is more eyebrow raising than his. I would have asked over what time frame did these relationships occur? How many in the last 3 years? Because if he's counting all the way back to high school, who cares??? In any case, she obviously likes him - she climbed into the hammock with him at the end, didn't she? 😜
