It will be interesting to see how much input Kelli (and to a much lesser extent, Judy) will be allowed in selecting their successors when they retire. I really don't know much about most of last season's rookies or many of this years new TCC. Like others, I miss getting to know more about the TCC in advance of the tv show. I like having someone to support going in to it. That said, I am really grateful for our insiders as well as those who give us background on the gals, those who compile interesting statistics, and the ones who make charts and graphics for us. Thank you!

They sign a release giving permission to be filmed, so it is always possible that someone could simply not sign. I would be VERY afraid of being cut by Kelli if I refused to sign. It also would be harder on editing in group situations or in the team photo, etc.

In watching the video from Six Flags Texas, of the ones that I could see throughout the performance (and not judging those who were partially blocked) my eyes were drawn to both Gina and Caroline. I noticed Rachel as well. Although she is beautiful, I just don't see any variation of expression, etc. In terms of point, I definitely prefer only one person for that position. Alternating points, IMO, takes away from the impact that the point position has. The person at point needs to be a good dancer, but most importantly for me, they MUST have charisma. I would be fine with Gina, Lexie, or Caroline as point. From my limited viewing, Gina seems to show the most charisma and she has toned things down a bit so that she is more in synch with the other dancers.

I'm feeling a bit feral at the moment, so I am going to be reckless and bring up VK again. Thinking of Judy's comment to her(relax, take a breath) and what VK said in her "goodbye" post about being brave, unselfish, etc..... WHAT IF: VK was part of something, or said something that might play out as a bit controversial for the Cowboys organization if/when it came out in social media or the news media, etc. If she left the team, then it would bring less attention to the DCC, TPTB, etc. Her leaving and the statements made by Judy and VK herself would make sense. She would be leaving for the good of the team. Just a thought. If Amanda wasn't the "big" name referred to as leaving, and Daphne truly wouldn't be a big name either, IMO, the only really big name is Gina, and I hope it isn't!

Random musings: Since Bridget & Christina retired and Hannah & Brennan were cut, I haven't been truly invested in any of the other DCC. I didn't watch the show last season (just relied on the great folks here for info.) so I really don't know much about last year's rookies. I know many folks here are fans of Amanda. I have nothing against her and if she has left, I wish her well in her future ambitions. The same goes for Daphne if she left due to injury. Whatever the real reason is that VK stepped away, she looks fantastic in the photo with her boyfriend. Having had 3 miscarriages myself, my heart goes out to anyone experiencing that heartbreak. I don't feel that is the situation with VK, I would imagine that it is something along the lines of emotional or perhaps something she has learned about her that is physical in nature. I don't think she will return to the DCC as a performer, but might take on some other role with them in the future. I wish her well. Thank you to our insiders, it helps keep things interesting for me. I also hope to learn more about the TCC so I can be more invested in this season.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your parent. My Dad passed away in 2001 from Alzheimer's. It's a hard way to lose someone you love. It is jarring in our case to see it used out of medical context. Perhaps we could call it selective amnesia instead of dementia. Kelli picks and chooses who she wishes to remember, ditto for rules, etc. Consistency and fairness make for a good leader. These are qualities that are lacking in Kelli.

I think Ann Lux would have been cut if she hadn't wisely retired after year 2. If I recall correctly, Charlotte didn't care much for her.

In addition to lacking a bit of coverage, it was her hair/wig that caught my attention and not in a good way....

I'm confused as well, but thank Heavens for everyone that has been posting photos and information!!! Does anyone know if Kristi Scales is judging this year? (I hope so, she seems to have the same mindset as I do about the gals.)

I don't think VK's statement is from her own thoughts. It sounds a bit like the wording of a press release. When we are going through a hard time, most of us do indeed "have no words". I think she was given some ideas of what she could say and she put them verbatim in her post. The adjectives chosen (mature, brave, unselfish) could be aimed at a number of things from substance abuse, an eating disorder, to perhaps being pregnant and deciding to have the baby and not take the other option just to stay on the field. I would say a mental health issue, but dear "Aunt Kelli" seems to have little empathy for that judging by the way she dealt with Hannah. Whatever the issue is, I do realize that it is none of my business, despite my curiosity and speculations. While not a fan of hers, I certainly do wish her all the best.

Just a question to see what others think...Last year, I think many of us were surprised at some of the veteran cuts. Of the veterans with two or more seasons under their belt now, in your opinion: 1.) Who would be the most surprising/shocking veteran cut/s? 2.) Who would be the least surprising veteran cut/s? Feel free to list more than one for each question. Also feel free to put your reasoning. A horse turned me into a human lawn dart and I want to think about something other than the fact I no longer bounce when I get pitched off, I shatter!

How is Kleine pronounced? Like in Calvin Klein, or ? There are some lovely girls in the TCC's. I think it is mainly that the older I get, the more all young people look beautiful, lol!

In thinking more about the VK situation (forgive me, I have a nasty cold and it is chilly and rainy out, nothing better to do), I considered what would VK could have done where she owed someone/something an apology and then took a leave of absence. We know that Kelli has put up with quite a lot during VK's first attempt to make the team. The second season did not shine a spotlight on VK, and now this. What would it take to hit Kelli's and/or VK's breaking point? The only thing I can think of is that VK embarrassed Kelli herself in some way. Could she have mouthed off/talked back to one of TPTB? Broken a rule/rules that everyone on the team was aware of? Perhaps some action while in uniform that was obviously inappropriate? Could the "not the villian" mentioned mean that someone influenced her into the action, ratted her out, or made the situation look worse than it really was? I would think such an unexpected leave of absence announcement so close to the official retirement announcements would be more than weight gain, a serious health issue, etc. Curiouser and Curiouser as Alice in Wonderland would say.

I am one of the few folks who really liked Christina. Things didn't come easily for her, so perhaps I related to that. She did 3 years, and left without causing any scandals during her time as a DCC. Not everyone on the team is going to be a superstar. She lived her dream, left on her own terms, and I am happy for her. I, of course, know that everyone has their favorites and least favorites, not trying to change anyone's mind on her. The opinions are what makes this forum so interesting.

I said earlier the only retirement announcements that would surprise me would be Kelli herself, or VK. So, color me surprised! I have no inside knowledge of any sort, just wisdom from surviving 57 years on earth, but here are my opinions... I highly doubt that VK is pregnant. She may not be a Rhodes scholar, but she isn't a complete bubblehead either and I wouldn't think pregnancy would be in her current plans. I was a bit shocked by how "mean" Kelli was toward Dayton, someone else she was supposed to have cared about. Then, we had Kelli's less than kind cutting of Hannah and Brennan this past season. It is entirely possible that she was also cold hearted in dealing with VK, although VK seemed untouchable by "Aunt Kelli". Weight gain was always going to be hard for VK, but while soft in the last performance we saw, she was probably capable of getting that small gain off and keeping it off if that was what VK wanted to do. The "not the villain in this" mentioned by Dr. Manhattan seems to imply that VK came across in a bad light at some point during this past season, but the reality of it was that whatever she may have done or said could have been set up by someone else to look worse than it was. If the storyline will be that she is taking a year off, the show and/or TPTB can spin it any way they wish. While I am not a huge fan of VK, I hope that she uses this upcoming year to maybe give college a try, have fun with her boyfriend, and move on with her life (and leave the DCC behind).

The only ones who would honestly surprise me would be boss Kelli or Victoria.

If it is a truly surprise announcement, The gals I think would be most surprising (at least to me) would be: Victoria, Kat, Marissa, or Caroline. A wee bit surprising: Amanda, Taylor, Gina, Rachel W. or Kelcey. Pop open the champagne surprise retirement: Kelli and/or Judy.

If we are going to see more of anyone, I like Kristi Scales. She tends to go beyond looks to see which gals have intelligence along with their dancing abilities. Not a huge fan of Marshall, don't mind him as a judge, but not really interested in him beyond that. I would love to have Phil be on the judging panel one year. The girls when looking up would see at least one encouraging face that might help them be slightly less nervous.

Thankfully most of the gals really know Kelly and don't fall for the "we'd love to have you back" line. It would make for a good storyline though. (And yes, I know you were being sarcastic, lol)

In addition to what KnyghtRyder stated, (from Fandom) "She was not included in the group office visit for the veterans who received weight criticism at the cameo shoot, despite her being one of the ones criticized for weight. This, and her pseudo-confessional from the season introduction suggests she had her own (unaired) office visit where she was cut or resigned during the events of episode 5.6. Additionally, all of the scenes from that episode of candidates waiting for their office visits are close up shots, further supporting her being edited out."
