Briana has seemed very lackluster and has made a few game day mistakes. I would imagine when you lose a good friend on the team (Brennan) it would take some of the joy out of performing. Of course, she could be not feeling well or have a slight injury that we don't know about that could be the reason. Or, perhaps we have just seen unfortunate moments and that the majority of the time she looks great. I hope the latter is the case. Perhaps this will be her last year with the team. I just hope that it is because she wishes to leave instead of coming back and being cut, IF her performances truly are sub-par. On a different note, as much as I enjoy watching the DCC perform, as a football fan of any team, I would HATE to be in those lower seats and unable to have a clear field of vision of the game!

When I think about it, my favorites over the years (for the most part) have not been the superstars, but the "blenders". That could be because I know that I most likely would also be a blender on the team, lol!

I think she has a womanly figure, which is not at all a bad thing. I tend to look at the uniform and how it fits when it comes to weight. There doesn't seem to be any "overflow". I think much of it is the background of the photo and the angle which tends to widen her. The two I worry about in terms of being too thin are Gina and Daphne. I have never gotten over that swimsuit photo of Daphne that they posted and then deleted when the commenters on it were horrified.

Just for fun....from last season or this current season, if you HAD to fill TWO spots on the All Star Squad, who would you select? Feel free also to give your reasons if you wish. (and the heck with what Kelli, Charlotte, and Judy think!) My choices would be Bridget (outgoing, personable and of course, just plain cute) and Brennan (intelligent, empathetic, dedicated).

Just saw this article. Thought it was interesting as we have been talking about natural hairstyles. Jacie Scott is quoted. https://www.allure.com/story/nfl-black-cheerleaders-hair-discrimination

LOL, Hush! ::whispers:: That is the plotline for NEXT season!

Wow, the photos Lisa posted recently make her look like a power lifter (no insult to power lifters out there), and then to see this? Again, Wow! How is Gina's knee doing? She definitely worked hard rehabilitating it, but seeing her pushed back a bit in the lineup at times, I am wondering if that is why she is hasn't been quite as "out there" as before. She certainly is a marvelous dancer, my only objection to her being at point, as she does those little extra moves that the other gals don't. Reminds me of Cassie in "A Chorus Line" where she is trying to fit into the dance corp instead of being a soloist.

I don't dislike Daphne, she's a good dancer, I just worry that at times (for example, the last calendar shoot they did) that she seems so thin, to the point of looking unhealthy. Other stuff... Rachel W. is very photogenic, so for that reason I could see Kelli choosing her for point. I don't find her dancing to be the best, though. Personally, I would have loved to see Bridget up there, but alas.... This has got to be quite a dull year for the veterans. As someone else said, the calendar shoot trip is out, being on the field is out, having to wear a mask while cheering (although I absolutely agree that they MUST wear masks), and, at least up to now, no personal appearances to take in a bit of extra income. I really sympathize with the rookies this season. Thanks to this tv show, which does not have a tremendous viewership (and half of those who do watch have already been "spoiled"), they are simply anonymous gals with half their faces hidden by a mask. Not being able to announce that they are on the team has to take away the thrill they would be having during performances. Finally....in looking at the action photos of some of the rookies, I swear their uniforms, particularly the shorts, just don't look properly finished. They look like a bootcut version of daisy dukes. Anyone else see it or is it just lingering effects of the Covid virus I had? Hope everyone is staying safe and well!

Leaving aside my school teaching experiences... in teaching kids, teens, and adults to ride horses and show: give me folks with less talent BUT a ton of discipline and desire for the sport over folks who are naturally gifted but have a poor attitude or lack of desire any day! When I think of it, the same was true when I was teaching in the classroom. A good attitude and discipline (and team work) allows me to teach the skills and usually results in a much better competitive group. As to telling heritage, my husband is 1/2 Mexican, 1/4 Blackfoot Indian, and 1/4 German. He is green eyed and light blonde! Genetics can always give surprises. It's hard to keep to the topic as there is really nothing more known about what is going on in the current DCC world. I would love for someone to "spill some tea". Seems like we have been waiting forever for something to happen!

I remember when I moved down south to North Carolina. All the students I taught, always answered everything with "yes, ma'am", and "no ma'am". Also heard it when living in Virginia and Tennessee. Not as much here in Maryland where I grew up and live now, although my parents did teach me to respond that way to my elders. I do think it shows good manners and I hope it doesn't die out. JMO.

I think the info about reasons why Taylor P. may have retired after one year were discussed in this forum in the late spring/early summer, including the reason given above. I don't have any info. one way or the other, I'm sorry she left. She was cute and seemed like a sweet gal.

Thanks for posting these! (And thanks to Holly85 for her videos earlier). Maybe I am just depressed in general, but I just can't get excited about the squad. A few of the gals look rather garish and in your face, others look like they are scared and still others look rather bored. A few look a bit soft (by DCC standards) and some of uniforms for the rookies don't look customized for them or rushed in the making of them. Then again, I am missing Brennan and Hannah. For the most part, I don't blame the gals for this. For Heaven's sake, put down a surface they feel safe dancing on, move the fans that are forced to stare at the posteriors of the ladies so they can see the game and find a way to put a veteran on either side of a rookie whenever possible. They really do look sloppy on the decks. Without the rookies being able to fully see the vets it must be SO much harder. I would have preferred an all vet squad this year under these conditions, or find a way to have them perform on a stage or two outside of the stadium and then perhaps do something on the decks during halftime and quarter changes only.

I was named Barbara after my dad's mom. My Dad (I miss him) was the ONLY one allowed to call me "Barbie". To the rest of the world I am Barb.

I know I am past bedtime. I read that last line as "Andy Reid was right up in the middle with his captors." 😛

Although, Jenna was held responsible for not stopping Holly P. from underage drinking (and fraternizing) in a club. (and yes, Jenna was with Holly in the club at the time.) Were all the gals at the lake older than 21? I think Kelli would hold Tess responsible if the gals were recognizable and very drunk in public IF the word got around or it showed up on one of their social media accounts.

The last I knew it still hadn't been canceled or confirmed. Just sort of stuck in neutral at the moment I believe. Other random thoughts...I was in my twenties from 1983 - 93. We knew how to have a wild time way back then, too. But, depending on how public their job was, many of my friends put that party life away after college. One dear friend was a Tampa Bay Buccs cheerleader, another was with the "Washington DC Football Team". Although social media was nothing like today, they did not drink in public nor attend wild parties, etc. It was simply part of what they signed up for and worth it for them to stay sober and always presentable to the public. Right after college, I was a barn manager/Head of Riding Instruction at a summer camp that also had a year long riding program in NC. I was to be a role model for my "kids", so it never occurred to me to go about drunkenly at the bars/clubs in town. I am not saying that drinking is a sin, but that there is a time or place for it and if in a position such as the DCC, best to do that partying at home whilst a member of the team, and none of it shown on social media. Like many others, I don't buy the whole "virginal America's sweethearts" persona, however, I don't want the squad to become "America's trashiest cuties" either. It honestly isn't that hard to find girls mature enough to keep the less than wholesome aspect out of the public eye. As to the actual "official" announcement of the team, I get that they would hold that back from the general public in case MTT should air. But when will the ladies themselves know? I assume we will know shortly after they do thanks to our insiders.

I don't recall this incident, but judging by the number of coaches, camera folks, and others on the sideline that get bowled over by an out of bounds football player, that at times it is impossible to get out of the way. No one without pads wants to get hit by a player in full gear. Shame on Kelli for blaming it on the gal!

Something perhaps that Rachel W. would find horrifying?

Or MTT = Masking The Truth

Was trying to sleep and this thought came to me... Picture this. TPTB tell the TCC that they are not yet on the team but they should make plans to move to Dallas. CMT tapes Kelli, Judy, and Charlotte "agonizing" over their earlier decision to cut Brennan and Hannah. The "not quite on the team yet" candidates attend their first official meeting back. Scenes of sadness from the "not quite on the team yet" gals as they are missing their former teammates. Kelli and Judy appear and declare that since there won't be a lot of chances to perform/make appearances this season, they have decided out of the warmth of their very sympathetic hearts to take Brennan and Hannah back. Suddenly they appear with the group and Kelli announces that this is the team.Wild virtual hugs and smiles, cheers and happy tears ensue. That would be the kind of drama that Kelli would love for television. Not saying this would really happen (and I would hope if they were invited back they would tell Kelli to go straight to hell), but I can imagine her thinking that this would provide still more drama, and make her look like the kindest woman ever. (gag.)

@Holly85 , I appreciate you asking her. I may not agree with her on many things, but she did add some information we may not have known already.

Quick question - How many years was Savannah on the Jets cheerleading squad? (I think that is where she was before?)
-
I am glad she had her three years and then chose to retire. She was my favorite. I could relate to her with her hearing issues, her persistence, and, like Brennan, bringing some maturity to the team. I think she was most likely kept on because she was well spoken and could be counted on to do well in interviews, etc. JMO

I also think that Kelli being a mean girl herself, recognizes her "own kind". When I was a young gal, while not being a target myself, I was intimidated by mean girls. I stayed as far away from them as possible. I see Hannah and Brennan as the kind of gals who would never be part of that sort of clique. Therefore, when it comes to cutting someone to create drama, they were ladies Kelli thought would never fight back or create more stir than she thought she could handle. That is where, IMO, Kelli is stupid. All of we "quiet gals" get to a breaking point and then look out. Hannah and Brennan are intelligent and articulate and if mistreated or mishandled have a strength that Kelli did not take into account when using them as toys in her game. I truly believe she thought they would go quietly, simply grateful to have been "allowed" to be part of the DCC. On a personal note, I am pleased to say that as I grew up, I found my voice and discovered how I could use that voice to speak up for those who were bullied or underestimated. Teaching was a great career for doing that. I know where ever Hannah and Brennan go (and most likely Lily and Meredith as well), they will show that they should not be underestimated and are indeed women of great strength of character.
