    All I can say to that dystopian nightmare is that I am very glad I am in the last third of my life. I've seen us creeping toward a "brave new world" and I want to die BEFORE we get there.

    I'm older, and one semester of shop was REQUIRED of girls in 8th grade. One semester of home ec was required for boys. I remember that I made wooden bookends. So I think it depends on where you grew up.

    Not necessarily. I was a speaker at a number of conferences on my area of expertise (information security) but was never paid, though I was "comped" my room for one of them.

    Dang it!! I watched last week's episode and Mahhhhtha wasn't there, so I thought we'd seen the last of her. Nope. Not only is she back, avec chopsticks, but Zacharian is doing the chopsticks thing, too. Is ICAG the only sane one left? Buh-bye.

    I don't live there, but I know that in Tucson, there's a weekly (?) sponsored walk / run /exercise "meet up" in the late afternoon/early evening. My in-laws participate every week. Even my SIL's grandchildren participate.
