Social Media: What's Up With Her?

I can tell you (having done these myself) that 60 seconds of bouncy jacks will get your heart rate up and make you breathe hard. 60 seconds of bouncy jacks, 30 seconds of rest, repeat 6 times, a good cardio start. But Twit would be whining after just one round. -

If she were 30 # lighter, she could do "bouncy jacks" (some people call them jumping jacks, but there's no jumping involved) seated on a Swiss ball. Unfortunately most of these balls have a weight limit of 400. -

That's why you hire a personal trainer. They keep you focused. At least, the real ones do. -

Not unusual. Addicts frequently turn to fat and sugar laden foods when fighting their addiction. -

Me too. I used to be morbidly obese, rapidly closing in on super morbidly obese (BMI 47.5, 50 is SMO). Started out with slow paced water aerobics and treadmill walking. Worked my way up to water boot camp before I started "dry land" workouts in a format called Strive. I keep pushing, but don't think that I could keep up in a boot camp style class. My weight is my bugaboo. I've been dangerously thin, and morbidly obese. At this stage in my life, I no longer care what my weight is. I care about body fat %, and being as strong as I can for as long as I can. My goal is 25% which is healthy for a 70 year-old. Currently sitting on 33% dammit. -

It depends. If he exercises regularly, yes, it's actually very good for him. If he goes only once a week, he probably should dial it back a little. -

Well, orcas are sea creatures, after all. But I believe she gets in the water and floats around for 10 minutes and calls that swimming. -

Most gyms have a disclaimer that you sign when you join. If the trainer is an employee of the gym, they are covered under the gym disclaimer AND the disclaimer that you sign when you engage them as a personal trainer. If the trainer is an independent contractor, they *should* have legal "hold harmless" language in their contract with you. Here's the lawyer-speak from my contract: In recognition ofthe possible dangers connected with any physical activity, member(s) hereby knowingly and voluntarily waive(s) any cause of action of any kind whatsoever arising asthe result ofsuch activity from which any liability may or could accrue to XXXX its officers, agents, employees, instructors or assigns. It is understood that any program or activity involving physical exercise or the use or presence of exercise or other fitness equipment and related facilities and premises, may be hazardous, and may result in accident, bodily injury, death, or damage to property.I acknowledge, and itis agreed that, although the club staffmay provide advice, instruction or consultation, the nature, extent andmethods of exercise or other activity, and the use of the club equipment, premises, and facilities by me and my family or guests is my (or their) sole decision and responsibility. -

Well, that newspaper article states that he previously went to Grimsley HS, so maybe that's the one Twit talks about. -

Holy fuck. Somebody named Spence posted a picture of Twit on one of Twit's FB pages. Leopard patterned leggings, sjiny black pleather top, black lipstick on a Whitapotamus. -

I think it's a state-wide arts school, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone who lives in nc can clarify? -

I had to reread her comment. I thought she had an epiphany and realized that she couldn't do anything for herself (lotion, shoes, chub rub, wipe her ass.....). I had hopes that it might lead to diet/exercise responsibility. Then I read the second sentence, which made me reread the first sentence. Sigh. That's smaller than the free weight room at my gym. It's 60 steps by 60 steps (and being taller than Twit, I take longer strides.) -

Yeah, she still does it completely wrong. Doesn't Will realize that the clean and jerk starts with a squat? And there's a squat in the middle? Does Will realize how BAD she is making him look? -

The floor is also made of rubber. I think either Will or his daughter has been lurking here and Will finally decided to address the issue of form with her. Now, if he'd only forcefully address nutrition --- ie tell her that if she doesn't clean up her diet her won't work with her any more as a client. But he won't do that, because then he wouldn't get publicity for his gym. Or the $$$ from TLC. -

She *can't* weigh herself. At home scales mostly have a max of 300# (although there's a more expensive brand that goes up to 400#). And I have no idea how much the weight limit on a normal doctor's scale is. It used to be 350. -

Krispy Kreme is of the devil. Deep fat fried sugar glazed crack. I haven't had KK in many years. If I allowed myself to eat all the things that call to me, I would totally be Shitney's size. But I really care about my body. I want to live at least another 15 years, without being frail and fragile. So I watch my eating habit ;-) and exercise regularly. I'm struggling to lose another 25# . -

Heh. My first thought was that it's one of our own snarking on Shitney. -
