  1. Ooh, let me also highly recommend "The Musketeers." Three complete seasons (only 10 eps each) with a very satisfying ending. Hot, hot men sword-fighting, strong women and tons of costume porn. It's about the most fun I've ever had watching a TV show. It's just damn entertaining. (I'm still mad Dr. Who stole Richelieu/Peter Capaldi after S1, though.) I also second Poldark! Aidan Turner is beyond hot, and I love me some Demelza. For something different, "Man in the High Castle" on Amazon is the bingiest thing I've ever watched. After each ep ended, I was desperate for the next. It's alt history where the Axis won WWII, and the U.S. is split between Germany and Japan. There have been two seasons so far, and it was renewed for a third.
  2. Another thing I like to recommend, if one likes historical fiction, is "Cranford," based on Elizabeth Gaskell stories about a British village in the mid-1800s. There are some sad things that happen, but on the whole it's utterly delightful and diverting. Lots of humor. Judi Dench! Another good one based on an Elizabeth Gaskell story is "North & South" (not that '80s Patrick Swayze miniseries N&S!). Richard Armitage!
  3. If anybody never watched Farscape, I highly recommend it. IMO it has the best-handled genre ship ever and a super kickass heroine. I've been contemplating a rewatch this summer.
  4. KKKendra won the last time they finished in Chicago! Clearly TAR should never finish in Chicago again.
  5. There absolutely is. I've thought of several ways, without putting much thought into it, that wouldn't mess things up permanently or even much. But A&E obviously won't go that route, since Eddy basically confirmed they'd be destroying the happy endings. They don't care about the fans or the characters or preserving their happiness. They just want Shocking! Surprises! And Dramaz! And they're certainly not going to put much thought into it.
  6. Honestly, it sounded like the only reason Robert stayed was because his kids love Vancouver. A&E promises are meaningless. I'm sure the actors know that as well as the fans by now.
  7. I'm sure they are. They've shown it time and again. Jane described the OUATiW writers room as being collaborative with writers bouncing ideas off each other. Meanwhile, the Once writers room was quiet with everybody working on their own stuff. Pretty sure A&E set down what's going to happen and that's that. There's no use for the writers to talk about things because A&E don't listen to other ideas. There's no brainstorming to figure out what makes sense or come up with other, better ideas.
  8. Eddy had mentioned Henry leaving town in the previous paragraph that Adam was building on, so here's hoping!
  9. I sincerely hope Adam meant "ten years older" than when Henry left town and not "ten years older" than he was at the season finale, because eeeeew. Say Henry left town at 18, that would make older Henry 28, which would of course be the same age as Emma in S1. Because shamelessly copying oneself is the height of creativity, apparently. That would make the time jump about 15 years.
  10. And that is also why they will have zero problems destroying the happy endings. They really don't care about the characters. It's all about the "shocking" plots.
  11. There seems to be something dodgy going on with that Telford con. Chyler Leigh, who Telford said also canceled, posted this message saying that Telford wasn't honoring their contracts and she was "forcibly excluded." And apparently Colin's rep told Xivents that Telford canceled on him. It's possible it was something like Telford wasn't upholding their contract in some way and that triggered some kind of clause where Colin wouldn't appear. What a mess. This sort of thing is why I'd never pay a bunch of money for a con.
  12. They could always bring Jared back as a guest in the premiere. They could bring anybody back as a guest in the premiere -- which would make sense since that's the one ep Emma will be in. New villain? Paisley Fairy.
  13. That was more possible until we found out about the 127th new curse nonsense. If Hook is cursed with a new identity, then clearly he's separated from Emma. Either Emma is also cursed somewhere offscreen or she's fine but doesn't know what happened to her husband or she's dead or in a coma. With Hook being cursed, that has automatically taken away their happiness.
  14. Did Jamie let slip that A&E are looking at S7 as the last? She kind of gave contradictory info there -- "final, final season" but "it's just going to keep going."
  15. I believe in one of the recent interviews A&E said that the EF scenes took place AFTER the door scene. My guess is that the curse happened say five years after the "happy endings" and Henry wasn't a part of it. They mentioned something about him wanting to leave SB as he grew up, so he probably left at, say, 18. Then the curse happened soon afterward. That way they can not have to age Hook/Regina too much.
  16. I don't think the writers will be able to resist putting cursed Hook and Regina together. They've already done Regina/Rumple. And it's not like they're going to write new characters of their age range since they're aiming to go younger. So they'll just pair off the two "free" characters because they think it would be a hoot. Plus it would cause CS and SQ heads to explode, which is always a great bonus to the writers. Whee, sexual violation, so much fun! They are copying S1 after all.
  17. I don't think CS will have children. They'll want to downplay CS as much as possible.
  18. Zelena is an ex-villain, though. Perhaps the curse is more about separating couples? And somehow Snowing was immune? Or it's completely based on who A&E wanted to keep writing for.
  19. Oh, and 10 Days in the Valley is limited-run. Ten eps maybe? It goes bye bye for Idol. But it is a good point that ABC has loaded a lot on deck, even if very little of it looks promising.
  20. If Netflix ponied up for the whole season, they're not going to cancel Once midseason. Unless it gets so bad Once gets pulled and the final eps are Netflix only. I doubt that happens though. I think it's more likely fall shows fail. I would derive great schadenfreud if it did, though. I don't think Once CAN run straight through, simply because of production time. They won't have enough eps in the can -- they'd run out of eps weeks before Week 22 air date. They'd have to start earlier than usual and not take a Christmas break.
  21. Highly likely. I think that was their plan for CaptainSwan, too. They sidelined the hell out of them very deliberately.
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if the Netflix deal includes some complimentary ad time.
  23. Good point about their self-awareness. Or maybe they knew she wasn't likely to stick around and did their usual thing of losing interest and ignoring a character way ahead of time when they know they're leaving.
