  1. I noticed too that they skipped the usual upbeat, rolling in cash Lotto intro and went straight to the story.
  2. He did seem very nice but his posture and demeanor really spoke of his lack of confidence. A good haircut and some dental work would go a long way toward meeting women.
  3. Austin to Spain The one they chose did have the best view but I guess you need to be young and in love to take an apartment with a labyrinth of hundreds of feet of narrow hallways and stairs just to get to the front door. The bathroom with the fronts of the toilet and bidet just inches from the wall made me think of the converted garage I lived in my first year at college. The bathroom was so small I had to enter almost sideways to clear the sink and when I bent down in the 30" square shower to scrub my feet my derrière stuck out through the curtain. 😀
  4. She seemed so hyper for a "meditation instructor." Whatever that is. I'm not familiar with her old show but I really got the feeling she was over the moon to be on TV again - I kept waiting for her to say " Tell Mr. DeMille I'm ready for my closeup now. She was a bit much.
  5. The house is one house back from the corner of Morrow Road and 63rd, Nashville, on Google Maps.
  6. Oh, and there's more. A wrecking yard, mulch plant and truck fueling station all within view. Lovely.
  7. .The very last house most people would choose. A hundred feet from a block long power plant and across the street from a dismal-looking park. They share a wall, are a few feet from their neighbor and got a tiny little yard. It may have been affordable but there was a good (or bad) reason for the lower price.
  8. That and just the heavy makeup in general, especially in the mid to late '80's episodes. The eyeshadow and blush are just plastered on. It looks so strange now. I recently watched an episode from season three with Elenore Parker (Baroness Von Shrader from The Sound of Music) and her face was encased in so much makeup that I only recognized her at first by her voice.
  9. What surprised me was that someone dealing with with acute acne would choose to wear "look at me" jewelry at all.
  10. CrazyinAlabama, Just wanted to say I appreciate all the time you put into your detailed reviews. Thanks 😀
  11. Grumpy's Café Yet another restaurant being run by an owner with zero experience wondering why she is deep in debt and has never turned a profit in four years. But mom is a hard worker and so is the daughter in law and Robert helps turn it around. The son is another case all together. It was hard to watch a forty year old man wallow in his lack of self confidence (calling himself a loser over and over) and his inability to handle even mild stress. Robert gave him a much needed boost but I'm sure there's a lot more to the son's back story than we saw. The tangerine French toast looked amazing.
  12. For the right designer with a massive wallet it might be ok. For anyone else it would just be a money pit. And what was with that stand alone oven-in-a-column? No nearby counter to set a hot dish down and smack in the middle of pathways. That would be the first thing to go.
  13. One of the many things I miss by not having Ponderosa this season is finding out how much weight they lost. Have any of the post game interviews said how much weight Jonathan lost?
  14. I rewound that moment several times and when the ball dropped Mike snatched it up and quickly put it back in play. Hard to say whether that was a knee-jerk reaction or he was hoping Jeff hadn't noticed and he could get away with it. I kind of think it was the latter.
  15. I don't feel so strongly about that although I thought he showed a very negative side with his pursuit of getting his way on the vote. I think it's his face. It's right out of Central Casting for a thug or bully. With those cheekbones, the devil eyebrows, Homer Simpson dome and space between his front teeth ... well, he better not find himself in a lineup as that mug is just too memorable. His unique face is a police sketch artists dream.
  16. Property taxes in California are 1% a year. That would be a whopping $100,000 a year in taxes. Insane!
  17. Such a true observation. I live twenty five miles south of Santa Barbara in Southern California. We have foothills behind us but otherwise it's open - beach views, wide-open freeways and palm trees. I love it here. I remember how frustrated I was driving for the first time when I arrived in Massachusetts and I "couldn't see anything" because of the trees. On the freeway from western Massachusetts to Boston we would occasionally see a church spire sticking out above the tree tops. I did love the cute towns and architecture of the area once we pulled off the freeway.
  18. Yuk. Raspberry or cherry might be good, but orange? That’s just wrong. One of the most popular items at Trader Joes at Christmas time is a chocolate, orange-flavored ball that looks like an orange and is sectioned just like you would the real thing. It's surprisingly good!
  19. It seemed rushed but then I guess it had to be (filming-wise.) With Trixie leaving they probably didn't want their already slow-building relationship to hang on a short, chaste street kiss until next season.
  20. Could someone explain this to me. Allotment of what? Were flowers portioned out?
  21. Remember a few episodes ago when Robert bought a commercial stove, oven and other items for Miz Juju's at a store specializing in used restaurant kitchen appliances? Anthony Bourdain devoted an entire chapter in his book Kitchen Confidential to all the knuckle-headed reasons people open restaurants and why they are doomed to fail. He wrote about how other restaurants and businesses circle like vultures around these soon to close restaurants so they can pick up good kitchen ware at rock bottom prices.
  22. My favorite moment was watching Jonathan trying to keep a straight face when Tori said, "I want to win more individual immunities ... and I see you getting in my way."
  23. I hope religion and Omar's parents don't pressure him into marrying this poor girl he's been stringing along for 6 years. He needs to be absolutely sure he's not gay before he involves another person's future.
  24. Her behavior strikes me as more of a very giddy, excitable eleven-year old than someone in her twenties. I wonder how this extreme personality will affect finding a relationship and getting and holding a job?
  25. Dreadlife Cafe: I wish Robert as part of the turn-around could have convinced the owner to rename the restaurant. Naming his soul food place after his mound of hair is not appetizing.
