  1. Yeah Lacey is a great dancer. For a somewhat small class, the rookie class last year was really strong with some of the best technical dancers on the team in Melissa, Lacey, and Erica, and while she may not be the technical dancer that the others are, Mary is great as well.
  2. Agreed. No way can one be in medical school and be a DCC - that is if she actually wanted to finish medical school. As a lawyer, I don't think there's anyway someone could be a first year law student (third year would be manageable outside of finals period), do well, and be a DCC, and many of the med students I knew when I was in school, had crazier schedules. Undergrad is completely manageable with a DCC schedule, but certain programs in grad school are a different ballgame. No matter how smart you are, you actually have to study and prepare for class, etc. ETA: I just saw the above post, and I agree that she could study for the MCAT or even take another year of school if necessary and continue to be a DCC. I know several people who did not get into medical school right away and went on to take programs that lasted a year or two while they applied again. Beyond that, if Melissa's job prospects are anything like my husband's were when he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree, she should be able to find a good paying job without too much trouble. Even if she chooses not to get her PE license, there are plenty of high paying jobs that she can get with just the engineering degree. My husband recently got his PE license, but many of his colleagues don't have one or plan on getting one.
  3. I think Ashley N. and Jessica also cheered for NBA teams, as well as former vet Veronica. I'm sure there are more. I guess the article only mentioned the girls who cheered for other NFL teams.
  4. Danielle, Kelsey, Jenna, Kinzie, Jessica, and Jacie are the only 4 year girls on the team right? It will be interesting to see who does and doesn't return. I believe Jenna and Kinzie are the youngest of the bunch, so I could definitely see them returning. I think that class (rookies in season 7) was my favorite of any rookie group that has been on the show. They were really talented and also quite diverse.
  5. The only way I can ever tell how tall or short they are is by the kickline. Jenna, Jessica, and Kat were on the end throughout the season, so they are a few of the shortest on the team. Also, based on seeing them in person, Angela's group seems to be a shorter group with Jenna, Melissa, etc, whereas Jacie's group has some taller girls like Kinzie (and maybe Caila). Holly's and Jennifer's group seem to be more average height. Obviously, this is a very, very loose observation, and I don't know whether they actually take height into account for the groups. Megan C. is also very tall.
  6. Jenna and Jessica are close in height, so Jenna and Jennifer K could have easily switched in that formation, and Melissa (who I believe is behind Jenna) is also of a similar height. I don't think it's strange that Jenna would be the point girl in a small group though. I think she may be a a group leader if she returns next year, and thus will frequently be at the point position for her group. She's a four yet vet, so she and Jessica are the most senior cheerleaders in that group in terms of years on the squad, and while Jessica is a good dancer, I don't think she has the same "pop" as Jenna. Jennifer is of course a group leader while Jessica and Jenna are second group leaders, so it's a bit strange that she wasn't the point, but hey, it worked for me lol.
  7. Love Jenna! She always pops. If she were a few inches taller, I could see her as a point girl on the field. Is that Rachel on the far right in the video? I didn't realize that she was part of the show group.
  8. I don't think I've ever seen Cassie look better than in that video. It's not just her dance, but she looks great, and I never considered Cassie to be one of the prettier girls on the team. I think Veronica looks the best in the video, while Colleen (I think thats her) looks the worst. I'm glad that they went back to a slightly lighter color for Danielle. I think her hair looks too dark in that video.
  9. Yeah, I like the shorter hair on Kat. She looks great. As for Holly Arielle, I like her and think that she's very pretty, but she has never stood out to me, like Mia or Ashton or Whitney. In the future, I could see Jennifer K, Erica, or Holly being point girls.
  10. I think Jax looks better with the lighter hair, but I didn't mind the dark brown. Congrats to Mary!
  11. I've always loved Jenna. I'm tiny as well and often get the "you look so young" comments, so I rooted for her from the start, but she has turned into a great DCC. I agree that she would be a great point girl if she wasn't so small, but I could see her as a group leader if she stays next year and Angela retires.
  12. Completely agree. The brown color with a couple of more inches looked good on her. Get rid of the red and let her hair grow a bit longer and she'll be set. Personally, I don't think Holly is gorgeous or anything, but she has a cute face, and I think she deserves to be on the team for her dance ability. I felt the same way about Whitney. I never thought she was pretty, but she was a fabulous dancer with a great body. Given how young she is, I can see Holly progressing like Whitney and becoming a group leader and pro bowl girl down the road.
  13. I just actually went to look at the cameos, and while I know other posters have commented on them, I had no idea how bad they were. I don't know that I like even one of the cameo photos (some are ok), but basically every girl on the team is prettier than you would assume from those photos. I don't ever remember the cameos being this bad before.
  14. Yeah, it does look less red in the picture. Now she just needs it to grow a few more inches. I don't think her figure is the issue, but that hair....my god it's bad. She may have the worst hair of any rookie that I can remember. It's kinda funny that they talked about how Madeline's hair was only turn around and royally screw up Holly's hair. At least Madeline was a teenager. So-called professionals thought that color and cut would look good on Holly smh.
  15. Oh wow. Thanks for this! I didn't know an archive existed of the TWOP forums.
  16. I agree about Erica, especially now that she's figured out to put some body into her hair. Of the current crop, I think Kinzie, Erica, Jenna, Mary, Simone, and Kashara are the prettiest (though I'm sure I'm forgetting someone). I can see people putting Jenna more in the cute category but I think she has a beautiful face. I also think Danielle, Jacie, and Megan have a real womanly appeal and presence that pulls your attention to them. I haven't always thought that about Danielle, but I did after seeing an actual game. Really though, they're all pretty for the most.
  17. Agreed on both points, and honestly, Holly should slap whoever decided on this hairstyle for her. I think she looked much better when she first came to try-outs. I don't think she needs hair down her back, but an a few inches longer than it is now would look good IMO. One girl who I'm surprised is not talked about more is Mary. I think she is gorgeous and the prettiest one from her rookie class. As has been said though, beauty is in the eye of beholder.
  18. I also attended the game (posted about it in the "current' thread), but I agree you on the girls who stood out and those who did not (although I thought Chantal was on the big screen a lot early on), so I noticed her. I hate to harp on Holly, but her hair is really awful. I actually don't think her size is as big of a problem. She thicker than the other girls, but I don't think she looks terrible in the uniform. She didn't stand out to me in a bad way because of her weight so much but because of her hair, which I think makes her look stubby. The cut and color are just terrible. I actually think the best she has looked is In the semi-finals episode when she walking to the car to go to finals. Her hair looked a bit longer, and I thought the brown was pretty on her. On Ashley N, I wonder if this will be her last season. She was injured at last year's Meet the Team event too. She seems injury-prone.
  19. I was in Dallas this weekend and went to the game (my husband is a big Cowboys fan). It was interesting that each group was often doing a different dance on the sidelines or that one or two groups would start a dance, while the others were not dancing at all. I would say that Jennifer's group probably danced the most. If a song played for more than 2 seconds, she started a dance. I didn't think Holly had the DCC look in the finale episode, and I still don't after seeing her on the big screen. She's definitely has a heavier build than some of the other girls, but I really think that the hair color and cut are doing her no favors. The red looked good right after the makeover, but the color is awful now, and I think the extra inch or 2 length that she came into training camp with worked better for her IMO. The camera guy seemed to really like Jenna, Chantal, Kelsey, Kinzie, and Danielle. They were up there multiple times, as were the group leaders of course. I thought Mary looked stunning on the big screen the couple of times that she was shown. I also agree with someone up thread that Rachel is not cute. I've never really understood her appeal.
  20. I will say that when I used to play sports and cheer/dance when I was younger, I would struggle at times with breathing in extreme heat or just when I wasn't sufficiently hydrated. I even vomited in the middle of a game once when I felt like I may pass out from shortness of breath. The doctor said I had a "touch of asthma" but it was never serious enough for me to have inhalers, etc. So from my own experience, I can absolutely buy that Kinzie may have felt like she couldn't breathe in the extreme heat with no shade. Regardless, she's a 4-year vet and a second group leader. I don't see why she would have a reason to fake it.
  21. I didn't like Holly's hair in this episode. I thought the red looked worse than it has, and I didn't think the cut was flattering on her. I've gone back and forth on whether or not I think she could have the DCC look, but I did not see it at all last night. She is a great dancer though, so I giver her that. Megan C. seems to be the only one who really has the total package from this group. I also think Amy T. and Kashara (any weight issues aside) have the ideal DCC look and Simone is the prettiest of the rookie class (though her dancing is mediocre). Everyone else seems just ok. Kat is very mediocre to me, but I think they really like her maturity and the fact that she was a rhythmic gymnast. We'll see how they develop though. I used to think that Emma's rookie class was rather blah as well, and several of them developed into strong DCCs. I do think Kelli and Judy overplay the difficulty of changing formations. Yeah, its inconvenient, but dance/cheer teams at any level have to do it all of the time. These girls have been dancing for pretty much their entire lives, so it really should not be that big of a deal.
  22. I don't know. I could see both being one year girls, or I could see both or either being there for a few years. It seems like most of the obvious one year girls (not the ones with weight issues) are the ones who struggled in training camp with picking up the choreography and constantly made memory mistakes - Morgan, Breelan, Ashley Pro, Emily from S7. From what we have seen, the two mentioned in the spoiler tags seem to struggle more with style than memory so I think they could both get where they need to be over the season. I also agree with some others that I have enjoyed this season for the most part. Things have been rushed, but with such a large rookie class, I feel like they have done a better job of introducing girls than they have in other seasons with similarly big rookie classes (season 6) or even seasons with smaller rookies clasess, like in season 8 which turned out to be the Morgan show.
  23. While I think it's wrong for them to take girls who can't kick into training camp in the first place, I don't get the issue with Taylor's cut otherwise. They loved her dance performance, but her kicks were bad, so they gave her a chance to get them up over training camp. She got her right kick up a little but could not improve her left kick. It was noticeably worse than Jessica's who was next to her on the end - Taylor didn't get it up as high, and she was dropping her left leg faster than the rest of the line. Thus, she got cut. I thought her cut was more straightforward than just about anyone's this season.
  24. As much as I liked Kyndall, I understand why they cut her. She was just making too many mistakes. I hope she tries out again. I don't understand the cuts of Selina or Courtney nearly as much. Courtney was clumsy with her feet, but I think she would have been ok. It seems like Selina was cut just to even out the numbers. Her cut reminded me of Marie's cut a few years ago where she was never called in but got caught on the last night. Taylor was a great dancer, but her kicks were bad. I never have quite as much sympathy for girls with bad kicks. I can see how a girl can be a good dancer but struggle in training camp due to not getting the style or not being used to learning so many dances at once, but kicks... They know exactly what they're getting into. Yes, they've taken some girls with low kicks ...McKenzie and Kali, but you can't count on that. I'm glad Simone survived. I think she is gorgeous.
  25. I've never seen the DCCs in person, but from the show, I've always gotten the impression that Erica is one of the best technical dancers on the team. I also think she's very pretty, whereas Jennifer is average, and I don't always care for her facials. With that said, Kelli and Judy absolutely love Jennifer, so she must be a very special dancer and/or leader. I hope we get to see a segment with the short blonde, redhead, and curly haired brunette rookies. From who I can see in the background, I think they are the only three left who haven't even said their names on screen. I went back and watched the finals episode, and Megan B. blanked out on a question during the interview phase. I think she just has a deer in headlights look and doesn't think well on her feet.
