  1. I was thinking of seeing that Sweeny Todd when I'm up at the end of August, but I'll be there during the week when everything is in a state of flux, so now I'm not sure. Decisions, decisions........
  2. Don't know if you have Siruis/XM, but he has a daily show now on Comedy Greats. I love him!!
  3. 27 jackets... I only want one. Really, just one...

Had a lovely evening passing the rain-delay time with @kariyaki tonight. Thanks again for the frosty adult beverage! I hope you and the group have a safe trip back home tomorrow. The less said about the game, the better (my goodness, I've typed that sentence a lot lately. Blech...)

Not a chance, but thanks for asking :-) Today was kids day at the Park. If it hadn't been kids day, there would have been about 50 people there. It's a shame...

Marlins Man wasn't there tonight. I was not in the really expensive section that's directly behind the place. I was in the third row of the "regular" seats behind the luxury seats. Tomorrow's seat isn't quite as good - behind the third base dugout, but almost at the back of the section. We did have a Stanton home run tonight, so I got to see the thing in center field do its thing. And Ichiro pinch hit. And since I didn't care who won, a fun time was had by me!

I feel like I shouldn't like Marlins Park, but what the hell - I do! It's got a roof (yay, because it's about 150 degrees here), and it's all bright colors and there's that thing in center field, and instead of Racing Presidents, or Pierogies or Hot Dogs, they have Racing Sea Creatures...but it all works. It sorta helped that there were only about 40 people there (well, maybe a few thousand) so not too much traffic, and the tickets are kinda cheap. I was sitting right behind home plate surrounded by scouts. Pretty interesting - once I figured out who they were. And, of course, the Bobblehead Museum! I have a bunch of the ones there. Looking forward to going back tomorrow!

Off to Hollywood, FL tomorrow. I have Marlins tickets tomorrow night and Wednesday afternoon, so I can knock another ballpark off the list! And, I exchanged my Sunday tickets at home for Saturday so I can get the infielders bottle stopper set (and so I can go see The King & I at the Kennedy Center on Sunday). Maybe I'll run into @kariyaki on the concourse! :-) (The less said about my team, the better...)
  9. That's the one! You said don't miss it, so I'm not going to miss it. And, I got a ridiculously great discount.
  10. I saw Falsettos yesterday and loved it. I agree pretty much totally with @Rinaldo's take on it, other that I was engaged with the serious, emotional parts. I'm fairly certain I saw March of the Falsettos when it happened way back in the day (I must look through my programs at some point - it's just that there are so many of them), but I did not see Falsettoland, so the second act here was gut punch. Lots of sniffling in the theatre. I got tickets for King & I next Sunday evening at the Kennedy Center. Looking forward to it!!
  11. Went to a favorite place in Baltimore that will be closing soon (Jack's Bistro in Canton). We had guacamole and chips, then I had the braised short rib ravioli and my friend had the bistro crab cake. For dessert, we had the affogato made with salted caramel gelato, butterscotch sauce and espresso...AND the bread pudding, also with the salted caramel gelato and chocolate sauce. Because they're closing soon, so we had to!! We had a lovely bottle of rose (half price wine every night before 6pm!) I'll never eat again...
  12. A few years ago, someone bought the Roy's name and recipes and opened some in the area. Fortunately, (or not, depending on one's view on healthy eating), one of them is a mere 4 miles from my house! I try to keep my fried chicken intake at twice a year at most. So far, so good (this being my first foray of 2017). I've always said I'd like my last meal to be Popeye's spicy chicken with a biscuit and fries.
  13. Went to see Falsettos at the movies this afternoon, so on the way home, I stopped at Roy Roger's and got me some fried chicken. So damn good... The show is also damn good. The things I get into when Mr ebk is out of town :-)

I was gonna be really excited because the long 2 day nightmare was over. However, it looks like my long 2nd half season nightmare has just begun. Ah well...
  15. Right now, I'm enjoying a lovely French Rose while I wait out a horrendous downpour. It could be worse ...
  16. Those Boiling The Frog episodes with Senator Franken were gold! And, it looks like Norm McDonald has a show - who knew? It's on YouTube. And Dave will be on in a couple of weeks!! http://www.cinemablend.com/television/1680150/watch-david-letterman-get-interviewed-by-norm-macdonald-for-a-change
  17. OMG, Chicago! Take as many Architecture Foundation tours as you can (I mean as long as they interest you). I love everything they do! Eat at The Purple Pig, and the The Publican, and The Gage, and The Girl and the Goat. And have pizza somewhere. And I'll think of more places. Go to Wrigley Field. If you don't like baseball (sacrilege!), you can take a tour. I think...the last time I was there they were doing off-season construction so there were no tours. Do you like beer? Go to Revolution Brewing. (If you do like beer, I'll think of more places) The Art Institute is fantastic. That's more than enough reason to go. This was just off the top of my head. I'll search out more places that I've been. Have fun!
  18. I'm going Saturday afternoon. Really looking forward to it.
  19. I liked this post not because I'm a Wicked fan, but because I'm not an ALW fan :-)
  20. It was, but was also a huge hit to the Merlot market and the Merlot prestige. I love Merlot and feel it was unfairly maligned in the film. I also thought the main character was a total douche and didn't like the movie much. Watching it on a plane may have had something to do with that, but I've not felt the need to watch it again.
  21. Another interview on The Bullseye with Terry. I learned a few things about him that I didn't know before. I didn't listen to the interview posted upthread from a few years ago and haven't read his book, but now I might. He's quite an interesting person. http://www.maximumfun.org/bullseye/bullseye-jesse-thorn-terry-crews-and-amber-tamblyn The Amber Tamblyn interview is pretty good, too.

This - it's so incredibly bland. And expensive. And the ushers are nasty. And... I'll stop now. I'm just glad I spend my baseball time at Camden Yards. Regarding PNC Park and Pittsburgh, I agree with all the good things said here. The park is my favorite of the new parks and the city is lovely with lots of good places to eat. I don't mind at all going when Mr ebk has convention weekend there. The HR Derby has always just been fun background noise here.

Went to the Nats game today. First time I've been there in 2 seasons. The park hasn't changed. Ah well... At least they won. And the weather was perfect!
  24. Corn on the cob (noticeably better than earlier in the week!), green beans and leftover... tri tip (you thought I was gonna say flank steak, didn't you?) Finished the white Bordeaux. It was quite lovely. I hope I can find it again.
