  1. Leslie Jones: "I'll protest nude if NBC doesn't renew Timeless"
  2. The piece was called "Return to the Rescue Farm." They were redoing a bit they did in January where they sent retired government workers to a "farm upstate." Charlie was in that bit also, he had been the announcer for every previous inauguration since Eisenhower, until the Trump administration let him go. They had him do announcing for Sam in that bit also. Here's a link to the piece: Sam's Rescue Farm for Government Workers
  3. Finally got around to watching this last night (had a lot of other shows to catch up on). I really liked it. In doing research on JFKs early life I found, to my surprise, that he actually went to school for a year at Canterbury School, which is in the town that I live in. I also noted that the movie at the end that Lucy and Flynn were watching, "It Happened One Night," was made in 1934, the year they rescued Kennedy from. I don't know whether that was deliberate or a coincidence.
  4. Devin Nunes did not like Stephen's interview https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/nunes-on-colbert-danger_us_5a9b5d71e4b089ec353af434
  5. I discovered that myself last week. My TiVO is set up to record it both ways, in case they change the name back again.
  6. Years ago I read an article on etiquette for people visiting Europe. It advised that if you're invited to a party in Germany, and it's supposed to start at eight o'clock, you show up at eight, it's considered rude to show up late. In Spain on the other hand, showing up at eight would be considered rude, you're supposed to show up at 8:30 at the earliest.
  7. I rarely rewatch TV shows. The one exception is Futurama. I used to watch it on Netflix when I couldn't sleep at night. Now it's on SyFy I recorded a bunch of episodes and keep the on my DVR to watch.
  8. I loved this line too. Also love where he mentioned that someone had his CVS Special Reward Card and was getting all the extra long receipts.
  9. I was watching this with closed captioning and twice when they were discussing the medal of honor (non) recipient, they referred to him being "clicks" away. That's not the right spelling, it should have been 'klicks" as in kilometers, not "clicks" as in what you do with a computer mouse.

  11. I'm still watching. He's had some really good pieces. I like the one he did last week after the shooting at the church in Texas, and the one he did Monday on Puerto Rico.
  12. I wonder what's going to happen with the car they drove up in. No way that could last more than a day or two on the streets of NYC, they'd have to park it in a garage, which I don't think they can afford.
  13. I'm guessing it's one of those things that only get enforced if one of their unmarried female employees gets pregnant, thus "proof" of violating the rule against chastity. I have no idea if it's legal. I love the scene where the Anthony Michael Hall look alike (whose name is Terry Serpico by the way) gave a speech about why he joined the Postal Service. My father-in-law got a job with the past office after serving 23 years in the Air Force, and giving people joy about delivering packages was the furthest thing from his mind. It was a good job, and he got extra points on the Civil Service exam because he was a veteran. I never heard him wax philosophical about his job at all.
  14. This is from a few weeks ago, but I just listened to this podcast episode of Pop Culture Happy Hour discussing the show. They all love it. http://www.npr.org/sections/monkeysee/2017/10/11/556991117/pop-culture-happy-hour-the-good-place
  15. I never read any of her recaps, but as far as I know Miss Alli is very much around as Linda Holmes, host of NPRs Pop Culture Happy Hour.
  16. I loved this too. Interestingly, the closed caption read "alternate effects," which didn't make sense considering the rest of the line, something about "whitewashing the agenda."
  17. Anyone know who played the "French professor" in the bar that translated what Denis was saying to Cassidy? He looked somewhat familiar. I couldn't find it on IMDB. My husband thought it might be Mark Hamill.
  18. Also, in last week's episode, they mentioned the movie "Sully," which didn't come out until September of 2016. (Although they certainly could have heard about it before it was released).
  19. I at first thought Dick Cavett was dead too, then I realized I was confusing him with David Frost.
  20. The actual Spelling Bee winner was asked to spell "covfefe" and couldn't. I guess she's been practicing for the spelling bee the last few days instead of following Twitter Trump Typo 'covfefe' Stumps Spelling Bee Champ
  21. I quite liked this analysis of the "Agents of Hydra" arc. http://www.salon.com/2017/05/27/marvels-agents-of-shield-is-the-glorious-anti-trump-satire-youve-been-longing-for/
  22. I really liked art on the walls of the interior of the restaurant. I checked it out on Google. It's called The Bears Den, and is in Calgary, Alberta Canada. https://www.bearsdencalgary.com It looks like a regular restaurant, not a gay club. It's on "Bearspaw Road", so I think the restaurant name probably just has to do with actual bears. I think it's possible that the reason the IRS was checking out Emmitt was not just the $10,000 withdrawal. Could The Widow Goldfarb have given anonymous tip to the IRS in order to bring down the business?
  23. Just saw this on Facebook http://www.hail-hydra.com links to the whitehouse.gov website. Don't know how long it will be around.
  24. The gofccyourself is working. I submitted a comment. I don't know if it will do any good now that Trump's is in charge though.
  25. The “Veep” cast reacted after reports broke that Australian MP Graham Perrett was eating sushi while watching an episode of the show on Sunday night, choked on his food, and knocked himself unconscious. http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/veep-australian-mp-knocked-out-julia-louis-dreyfus-1202409166/ He was watching the scene in the first episode of this season, where Dan catches Jonah shaving his head in order to pretend he still has cancer.
