  1. I have a fantastic idea for future seasons of MAFS. Along the lines of fact-checkers, in the matching process they should have match-checkers. There are many, many invested forum posters who could watch the entire process by the experts and call bullshit where needed. I, for one, would gladly tell them they are out of their damned minds when needed. This would be an interesting twist to a slightly stale series.
  2. I have seen a similar protrusion from spina bifida occulta. It causes mild malformations like that en utero.
  3. Points to ponder... There isn't a lot of money to be made as a Texas educator. If she is lucky, Myrla might earn in the high $90s or low $100s. On that income, all her designer fashions might be coming from resale shops or perhaps her shoes came from la pulga and are actually Mannoloes.
  4. I think they are very aware of their calendar-buying demographic and those guys don't give a flip about dance skills. They buy the calendars for the bodies and sexy poses. JMHO.
  5. As a low-seniority airline pilot, his schedule absolutely could be that incredibly unpredictable. He will get the worst routes. And get them last minute when a new crew needs to fill in. Planning stuff in advance like Virginia wants is not possible all the time. I think Erik has gotten a bad edit on this. If everyone heard his explanation about what his work month looks like, everyone would understand why he is saying planning the way she wants is not possible. And... she does not want to place her marriage as the priority in her life. Period.
  6. I can't look at that pic without thinking of Tammy Wynette.
  7. I have put off writing this for months but now is the time. In early 2020 I attended the All American Rodeo at AT&T Stadium where they had DCC lined up for the athletes to walk through as they were introduced. I don't remember which DCC were there the two times I attended but Meredith was. She appeared to be the absolutely most engaged of all the DCC. She made eye contact with some of the athletes as they came through. I don't know if some spoke first but she did say "hi" to some of them. And she appeared like she was happy to see them. Honestly the others looked like smiling, pom-shaking zombies. Meredith was the most genuine, best ambassador for the Cowboys. Hands down. And from that moment I saw why she made the team. You can fake your way through a misstep in a dance, and the average Cowboys' game attendee probably doesn't know if a dancer completes her moves. But you can't fake the genuine pleasantness she exudes. And for the record, I didn't think she should have made the team last year. I was not a Meredith supporter. But after watching her live, I get it.
  8. Just googled him. Dayum! He could make you forget you signed a contract about anything.
  9. Possibly because she actually is a professional dancer?
  10. Brennan has shown poise and dignity in her response to being cut. Those character traits are what moms hope to instill in their daughters. But... I am so pissed at all this that I would like to see JKC face something like this. https://images.app.goo.gl/2dUAKYZ8R1He6uTb6
  11. Brennan has long been one of my favorites. (Okie girls gotta stick together.) As awful as this last night cut from camp is, I truly hope she sees it as a catalyst for the next chapter of her life. Her intelligence, grace, poise, and determination will carry her far.
  12. She said she met her class on Zoom, so she has a virtual classroom. She could have done that from the bubble.
  13. The 33 were together for the road games in Philadelphia. Of those, 15 tested positive. They weren't going home when they were in Philadelphia and (presumably) were in the same hotel.
  14. They should ask the Florida Marlins how keeping everyone together worked on their away game to Philadelphia. And for those who haven't seen, 15 of 33 Marlins players who traveled to Philadelphia for the season opener had tested positive for COVID-19 as of yesterday. Those numbers are close to what training camp will hold.
  15. Brennan's tweet about wear a mask, and an article I just read about research on COVID "long haulers", make me wonder how DCCs will be treated if they can't complete training camp because they contract the virus. Even after recovering from it, some people continue to have symptoms or are unable to exercise because of breathing difficulties. So you could be cleared to participate because you aren't contagious, but unable to participate because you physically are unable at the moment. Would Kelli, Charlotte, and Judy show 2020 DCCs some grace and allow them back on the team if they are unable to do TCC?
  16. Heaven help the DCC or TCC who gives the Rona to Kelli. She could kick to her nose, have a PhD, be beautiful, slim, charming and eloquent, dance with great technique and energy, and still get her COVID-carrying butt cut. Jus' sayin'.
  17. The NFL players association has requested no pre-season games, not just a reduced number of them. If the NFL only has regular season that buys a little time before DCC would have to be field-ready. That would make a lesser impact of a delayed TCC and team selection.
  18. The marketing part of my brain is working here. My guess is the sale of Dallas Cowboys merch in other countries, and sales of game tickets to people in those countries increases when said countries have a fellow countrywoman on the team. Japanese and Australian DCCs might be really smart marketing. Just an idea.
  19. Smpisimon, do you think any of the diva behavior could have been situations when she was spoken to from the side of her head where she has hearing loss in that ear? I remember seeing one video that people were calling her uninterested in the kids around her. When I watched, I could see the moment when she heard something that drew her into what was going on. She was smiling and engaged from that point. So I have wondered since then if the hearing loss plays into her aloofness.
  20. I am in Texas and have two colleagues who each had a daughter marry in a backyard wedding yesterday. One lives on a few acres where there could easily be space between seats. They had the full bridal party -- multiple bridesmaids/groomsmen -- like Lacey did. You won't find me at an event (even outdoor) with 50-60 people in attendance, but that is just me. I think the Texas culture is just different than anywhere else (spoken by a person married to an immigrant, and who has lived in multiple states). Several years ago there was even a tourism motto of, "Texas. It's like a whole other country." Yep. That is about right. And the outdoor weddings during a pandemic reflect that. In so many, many ways there is a belief that Texas is bigger than any problem it might face. So I don't know that Lacey has necessarily shown a lack of judgment. She has used judgment based on a confidence that permeates everything in this state, and it is the state she was raised and lives in.
  21. Can someone ID everyone in the pic? I know Kelli is in the Marcia Brady spot; Judy is in Alice's spot, and Shelly is in Carol Brady's spot. The others, I don't know.
  22. Annnnnd, she's out! No way, no how will Kelli look past that.
  23. Oh no. Did I miss her announcement that she will retire?
  24. I was about to start chanting, "Girl power! Girl power!" as Rose was telling Ed how it is.
