Perhaps Ash's seminar was a colossal disaster because Avery was there cramping his "style." I mean let's face it, "relationship coach" is a BS career if ever there was one. yeah. Just by way of info for those of you who can't access on demand, the previews usually show up on Youtube late Tuesday. But they appear and disappear for the first day or so because youtube takes them down. But by thursday that stops and you can find an upload that's watchable without issue. Just search 90df before the 90 days and you'll find them. However, they are often a smaller window in the lower left corner of the screen...done that way to try and get around youtube's auto system for identifying copywrite or unauthorized uploads. But it's still watchable. Hell, in some cases a smaller screen is an advantage. BGL I'm looking at you! lol...

So you're arguing from a fantasy perspective then? David doesn't have a justification for stalking. Stalking is wrong. Lana (who isn't real) doesn't deserve to be stalked. And yet it's happening. And it could have been avoided...easily (and probably has been but we're pretending the situation as presented is real)

Of course, but he's deranged. Expecting a person who is obviously deranged (having actually done this 3 times already) to make the rational choice is not realistic. There's two people involved here. One is obviously a deranged creep (again, assuming the story is as it's being presented. Which it probably isn't) and the other is a woman stringing him along. Is it rational to expect the deranged lunatic to "take the hint" or would it be wise for the woman to "take the hint?"

Not "deserve" maybe, but I'd say "expect" might be realistic. Like that guy who used to go out every year and live with the Grizzlies...until the Grizzlies decided to eat he and his girlfriend. Lana (who isn't real of course) is a woman who now knows she is dealing with a dude who has flown around the world 4 times and been stood up by her. If I was her, and I had used any of my real personal info during my interactions with this guy, I'd be seeking protection.

yeah, he's a creep. And if she's a real person, she is too. Her job (if she is real which isn't likely the case) is to be chatty with guys. It doesn't have to be any specific guy. She doesn't have to string guys along for 7 years and as you note she gets nothing from getting him to come to the Ukraine. She can chat with any of likely dozens of other guys rather than David...

"we aren't in a relationship and I won't ever show up no matter how many times you come to the Ukraine." That much more clear. Or like I said, just ghost him for good and move on to the next loser.

yeah, I mean someone mentioned strippers as a similar situation where a woman is just "doing a job." I get that, but most strippers know enough not to make dates with dudes they just lap-danced. If "Lana" is a real working woman who has to be concerned for her own safety (as in she doesn't have a Ukrainian crime organization to look after her), SHE needs to take the hint when she realizes that David ISN'T taking it. She really has all the power in the situation. She doesn't HAVE to string dudes along for 7 years to get her 2.99/minute. She can just as easily tell David to fuck off and move on to the next guy.

you keep saying she's been crystal clear about not wanting more out of the relationship. That just isn't true. We all know what the reality of the situation is. But if you want to argue based on a hypothetical "real woman just doing her job" notion then she should have been more clear about the nature of their interaction. Standing him up and then returning and continuing the scam online when he's proven himself to be perfectly willing to get on a plane and come to meet her is asking for trouble. He's creepy obviously, and she's almost certainly not a real person, but if she is I don't have a lot of sympathy for her. She's playing a very dangerous game and she bears some responsibility for the situation too...

I love David's reasoning that wandering around town and just happening to run into Lana would be less weird or surprising than just going to the address he has for her. lol. Is he a "stalker" though? I don't know if that's really a valid characterization of the situation. If you could read back through their chats over the past few years and find a single instance where she said "no, I don't want to meet you ever. Stop messaging me" then maybe...but once she's gone so far as to invite him to fly across the ocean to meet (several times) I think you've sort of lost the ability to play the stalker card. She can't really say "I didn't think he'd actually fly to the Ukraine" at this point. That of course assumes there's anything truthful about the whole story at all. And yeah, chances are that's not her real address anyway. David probably knows that which is the real reason he'd rather just wander around hoping to run into her, lol.

Yeah his responses to her incredibly lukewarm and unenthusiastic messages are so weirdly over-excited that if he is for real, I'd say he has mental issues, lol. He's come to the Ukraine to meet her. She doesn't show up at the train station. Then she leaves him hanging for what, a couple days? Then she sends him a message asking if he still wants to meet. He says yes and asks her to meet him the following day...she says OK and that's it?? She logs off? No "I'm so sorry I couldn't make it two days ago and then didn't message for 48 hours. My bathroom door jammed and I was locked in there..." or any sort of BS apology at all? And he just laps it up! lol...I just wish it were all real!

Yeah, but if she's a real woman (a big "if" of course) then she HASN'T said no to him. She's done the opposite! She's continued to communicate with him and to take part in "plans" to meet...and then just hasn't followed through. Now you can say he should take "the hint" but if the hint is followed up with more communicating and then new plans to meet? I mean yeah, David is an idiot who should get the message (again if we are assuming Lana is a real woman)...but I don't think it's really a "stalker" situation. If Lana is a real person, she's obviously catfishing him and scamming him for money in which case, she gets what she deserves...and so does he. Neither of them is "innocent."

I don't see why it's a problem that Varya might have made an effort to meet an American man to build a life with. She's single. If she wants to come to America it makes perfect sense for her to take a shot at maybe finding love with an American guy. Why not? Does Geoff have any interest in living in Russia? It would be a problem if she was just willing to marry ANY WARM BODY to get to America (a la Usman?) but if she's honest about trying to find a real relationship with an American it seems fine to me. He's an idiot afaic...she seems great to me. I mean she's lucky he's an idiot because he's also dangerous, but he's an idiot to not see how great she is...
