I think the idea was that the alumni could offer critique based on their own experience of being a DCC and dancing that particular style for many years, plus how to succeed in training camp. I thought Sarah Idziak (sp?) and Ashton Torres had very good specific advice for certain girls in the workshop. I didn't hate them featuring the alumni, but I didn't think Cassie offered anything particularly groundbreaking. "I was the task-master." Um, ok? Doesn't really help them in their rookie year.

I know it's early for audition speculation, but I hope Ashley tries out again! For some reason, I kept getting her and Julia confused in my head for the first few weeks (both former Mavs dancers, blonde, strong dancers). I was really surprised that they cut Ashley so soon and with no warning. She and Lexie are (or were, at least) really close, Ashley was a bridesmaid in Lexie's wedding. I think she and Julia would both be great DCC's!

I know she isn't this board's favorite, but I thought Cersten always did the DCC style very well! She looked great on the field.

Crystal looked so much better after she grew out her mullet! That was a very unfortunate haircut lol.

Hmm, Kat's Instagram seems to have disappeared. I always thought that was such a weird critique, I didn't even think that the cutouts on her dress were noticeable and Brenda seemed weirdly aggressive about it. But I agree, I don't think that particular choice was what lost her the spot on the team, they seemed unimpressed with her solo and the rest of her interview as well.

And they seemed to really love Hannah her rookie year. Not sure why their opinion changed so fast on her. I think that was the same season that Paige gained like 13 pounds, she had a very drastic change!

Hmmm, interesting voting results at the bottom of the article! Victoria and Meredith are tied for favorite rookie (Amanda not too far behind). Maddie is overwhelmingly the favorite vet.

Thanks for sharing! I always like Kali, I was sad when she got cut after her first season. She seemed to handle it really well, though. I forgot about Alex B! I recently saw the season when she made it to finals and I wonder what happened? Kelli kind of made a big deal about how much they liked her until they started checking her references. I wonder if she got bad references from past teammates/coaches? Or if it was more of past legal issues? She said she used to get a lot of speeding tickets and Kelli had that look on her face like she didn't quite believe her.

And what Ally said (or at least what stood out to me) was that if you get a correction, you should say "Yes ma'am" and make the change rather than making excuses. She said something like, "If everyone in this rehearsal made excuses, we'd never get anything done." Which was a fair point.

I remember them saying she looked startled all the time during her cameo shoot (she really did kind of have crazy eyes). I don't remember anything in particular about her dancing.

I love the second one, when Kelli tries to casually announce it and then they play the sad trombone because nobody got it. LOL, Judy's head shake just kills me. It's not in this montage but the BEST announcement was when they were all hooked up in the kickline and Kelli said, "Look to your left, now look to your right, now look ahead in the mirror... this is our squad."

Those are my favorite! I always get a Halloween mix with those in it and squirrel those away for myself.

Yes, I thought that was a great addition last season! I was sad that there weren't any segments on former cheerleaders this year. I also liked their "life outside of DCC" or whatever they called it, when we got to see Amy's dance studio and Tasha's modeling.

I have no idea if that is the reason or not. It has been speculated on this forum that that was the reason why she did not participate in the photo shoot but went on the trip, but I have not ever heard her or anyone in the organization confirm that.

I loved Lauren, she was my favorite in her rookie class. Not sure if she'd be the total package/ideal DCC because she was talked to a lot about memory mistakes (even though she made show group her rookie year?) and also for whatever reason she was never in the swimsuit calendar (by her own choice or someone else's, not sure). But Kelli and Judy did seem to love her. I was so sad when she had to retire early!

Oh, I have another nominee for the "full package" DCC. Sasha Agent! She was gorgeous, amazing dancer and was a teacher and mom outside of DCC. She was a great asset to the squad.

How are we not talking about Alexis' back?! Poor thing, she really looked like she was in pain. And even though she wasn't doing the kickline, you could see her behind the line marking the dance. I would have been laying on a heating pad.

How could I forget Brittney?! She wasn't the most powerful dancer but she is so pretty and has a great personality! I loved it when she made Kelli laugh so hard by pulling a comb out of her bra.
