  1. Bridesmaids are usually invited to bridal showers and bachelorette parties, they aren't necessarily expected to make it to all events but it's expected to include them in the guest list. Close friends are also invited to bridal showers and usually bachelorette parties as well (depending on what the plans are). I think it's been a trend lately to do a whole weekend's worth of activities for a bachelorette party. When I got married, we would just go bar-hopping and your friends would make you wear a veil and get you drunk. 😉 I always had a soft spot for Ashley, not sure why I just thought she was very likeable. I don't agree with getting bigger groups like this together right now, but I will say that she looks very pretty.
  2. And if I read her post correctly, she and her family went to Florida for this baby shower. I know I wouldn't do that in a pandemic but... She's also posted some very anti-vaxx things in her stories lately. o_O
  3. Those are driving me NUTS! I watch the Pluto MTV channel once in a while (sometimes they show old episodes of Real World) and the other day, Siesta Key started right after the RW episode I was watching. I was busy cooking so I didn't change the channel right away, but OMG it was the most boring 10 minutes of a reality show I think I've ever seen. It was just rich kids sitting around asking each other, "Did you hear that so-and-so is going out with so-and-so?" I think I lost brain cells.
  4. My husband and I stayed at a really upscale hotel in Chicago a couple of years ago, I was beyond annoyed when I realized our room had no microwave, no mini fridge AND no coffee maker! I don't like to see anyone until I've had some coffee so even though there was a Starbucks in the lobby, it was still annoying. When I travel for races, I like to make sure that I have anything I could possibly need. It looks like VK is bringing her own meals (smart, since she has struggled with her weight), so if she knew there was no microwave it makes sense to me that she'd bring her own. And who knows, maybe she's bringing it intending to share it with whoever else might need one. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of Victoria but I swear, this forum will find fault with anything she does. And I'm curious if Lexie actually brought her dog or if that was just a photo opp as she was being dropped off! Most hotels won't allow dogs and hers is a puppy still, he'd go nuts in the room alone! I'd be tempted to smuggle one of my cats in with me, though! I miss my furbabies when I travel.
  5. It always bugs me when they tell a girl to call Jay for a workout or to hit the gym, nutrition is really what makes the bigger difference in weight loss. It made more sense when they took the girls to My Fit Foods for some meal prep or when Jay took them to the supermarket. (Though I suspect that they just want to know that the girls are doing something, so checking in with Jay is a good way to monitor that they're taking it seriously.) And yes, Jay definitely had a big influence. Remember him yelling at the girls just a couple of seasons ago when they weren't taking their workout seriously?
  6. When did Alexandria say that? I don't follow her on social media, but I really enjoyed her in training camp. She was so strong on the field and had such a good look for the DCC. She came across a little fake in some of her interviews, but in general I liked her and thought she brought some maturity to the team.
  7. And Vivian was so fit, too! I would love to see a curvier girl in the uniform. I can understand that they wouldn't want to put someone with a big gut out on the field, but an amazing dancer who is fit should be able to be considered no matter what the scale says. I guess it also bugs me that they use the scale as their measuring device. I mean, I get that most dance jobs have a rule about not gaining/losing an excess amount of weight, it would be prohibitively time consuming and expensive to constantly have to re-alter costumes/uniforms. And you need to have a way to track that, and the number on a scale is a quantifiable way to do it. (I'm not a pro dancer but I assume that other teams or dance jobs do something similar, please correct me if I'm wrong.) But even models don't typically track weight, you either fit in the clothes or you don't, it's more about your measurements.
  8. They talked to Brooke a lot about her weight that season. Brooke is definitely one that wouldn't make it now, she really did not have the DCC look.
  9. Awww, I forgot about that scene! It was such a small thing, but the way he asked, "Can I touch your hair?" before he started explaining what he was picturing was so nice. He really wanted to make sure she was 100% comfortable.
  10. Former TCC Jasmine shared the original post, that's how I found out what the challenge actually meant. To be fair, it's not just them. SO many of my friends (most of us are a few years older than current DCC) have done this "challenge accepted" thing and it is very cringey.
  11. I agree, I'm probably going to unfollow her soon. The over-the-top loooong engagement video (seriously, who does that?) was eyeroll-worthy and it's kind of gone downhill since then.
  12. Oof, yes, this nutritionist was the worst. I like that the cheerleaders straight up laughed at her when she said that carbonation causes cellulite. I felt so bad for Nicole Bulcher, I think the nutritionist (can't remember her name and I don't want to) felt really bad when she realized just how little Nicole was eating and how much shame she felt around food. That was so uncomfortable.
  13. Agreed, she was one of my all-time favorites! So gorgeous and an amazing dancer. I'm watching her rookie season on Pluto right now, they just did her little intro with her daughter and she is just a doll! If she still looks like Sasha's mini-me, I bet she'd be a great legacy!
  14. Just because we didn't see Jinelle or Angela have to travel for their visas doesn't mean it didn't happen. Plenty of stuff gets left on the cutting room floor, especially if there wasn't any real reason to show it. In Yuko's case, the timing meant that she missed learning the field entrance and had to learn it outside of the usual practice. Later, Jinelle got stuck in Australia longer than expected due to a medical emergency and missed the very beginning of training camp. It's likely that both Angela and Jinelle travelled to get their visas squared away during their rookie training camp but didn't miss anything major in rehearsals so they just didn't show it. Remember, too, that CMT isn't filming every single rehearsal during training camp, only the ones that Kelly and Judy are evaluating and those rehearsals are the ones that the girls are expected to attend in full makeup and in their pink and blue outfits. The other rehearsals are mandatory, but do not have required outfits and are often taught by other staff and/or group leaders.
  15. Yeah, NOLA is really something else as far as humidity! I've never been there in the summer, but every time I've been I just have to prepare to sweat no matter what I'm doing! I can't remember what part of Mexico Cersten has been living in for the past couple of years so not sure how it ranks as far as heat/humidity, probably depends on how close to the coast she was. But she has lived in her fair share of hot climates, so hopefully LV won't be too bad for her!
  16. There was an Electrique Boutique on Greenville for a long time! It was definitely a stripper store haha.
  17. I'm from Dallas and I actually didn't find the heat in LV that bad when I visited a few years ago. It's a dry heat, Dallas and Louisiana (which I think where she is from?) are super humid, so it feels hotter than the actual temperature.
  18. Not sure about her reasons for retiring, but she was an All Star last year and I'd imagine would be asked to be one again. If DCC doesn't take any new girls, I think it would make more sense to just keep the roster of veterans who re-auditioned. The All Stars retired from the squad for their own reasons, I'm not sure bringing any back to the full time squad would make sense. Kelli is a teacher, I'm sure she will have enough on her plate in the fall!
  19. The Star is in Collin County, but actually really close to the border with Denton County. They could get around the order by practicing in smaller groups (likely in the groups they would be in for the quarter dances) or by having their rehearsals outside (as long as social distancing was in place). I'm not even sure there will be an NFL season this year, much less cheerleaders.
  20. I took that as her saying she should have taken DCC-specific classes, not that she had never taken any dance classes. She should have focused on power pom and taken the DCC prep classes. She got cut at finals the next year, so not sure if she did those classes or not.
  21. Oh, I didn't know that Jean Philippe was a former sponsor! I used to work next to his salon on Lovers, his wife and kids were so sweet. I used to get my nails done in his salon (my hairdresser was somewhere else), he ran a great salon.
  22. It's back a couple of pages now, but people were discussing why the big change between Chelsea's rookie season and her second year when she was cut during training camp. I didn't know it until lately when someone shared an Insta post from one of them (can't remember which) but Chelsea and Cassie were really close. I think some of Chelsea's entitled attitude came from that, she probably thought she was untouchable due to their friendship. I liked Chelsea a lot in general, but she really came across poorly her second year. She had such a snotty attitude after she was put on weight warning, then tried to turn around and act like she just had no idea what Kelli and Judy were talking about. I think it was smart of them to go ahead and cut her due to the attitude.
  23. Believe it or not, this was a "thing" in Dallas! It was not unusual to have the butt sketch artist at parties, I even remember them being at one of my high school's senior parties at the Dallas Country Club. Thinking back, it is quite odd.
  24. It looks like Lacey had 13 bridesmaids?! Good lord.
